If the only reason is her clothing and stuff, just arrange for your hotels to receive your parcels from home, so you can pick up on your way thru, and then ship your old laundry and new purchases back home. On a long trip maybe stopping to buy new undies and sox along the way is better than packing it along.... Brian

I think I might have the same accent but with a different emphasis on the EH! Brian

I was wondering that too, the accent doesnt make the filter any better or worse...... We all gotta remember that we all have accents to someone else, ....... Brian

Youre comparing apples and oranges as our bikes dont get anywhere near the pounding and vibration that a yamaha sled will get. I can see where a wet paper filter might fold over with the constant pounding and impacts going over snow drifts. A sled is a lot like a dirt bike as its going over the same terrain, but takes even more up and down movement, some times it seemed my sled had the skis in the air more often than they were on the ground. The odd pothole or skunk in the road just isnt the same kinda shock. Brian

And I gather with the weather theyve had that it was frozen over? Brian

Resonable miles per hour on trip
friesman replied to Sylvester's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
] As soon as I get over 65-70 mph my mileage drops right off and I stop more often for fills. so I try not to travel too much faster than 70 as I dont really see any real time savings. I find that I can do a 1000 miles in a day if I have to, but when on a few day tour i dont like any more than 500-600 miles a day, it just gets tough too many days in a row, and if I dont enjoy myself, whats the point of the holiday? Yep, I have much more confidence in the scoot now than I did back a couple of years ago. But I know so much more about the bike than I did when I went down to Los Osos, thanks to all of you people in here. PLus with the rebuild and upgrades that Rocket did to her, I feel that with regular maintenance I will be good to go anytime, with a few tools and a couple of selected spare parts. Brian

I have a 6x12 and I dont know how I would get 2 ventures inside, there is only about a foot on either side of the fairing and a bit under 3 feet at the front because the wheel chock takes up space. I think you would hafte remove the luggage off at least one side of one bike to avoid rubbing and scratching. Also, measure the height of your scoot to the tip of the windshield, after doing the progressives in the forks last year and adding the Clearview windshield I have less than an inch to clear thru the top of the opening while riding into the trailer.

My best wishes and thoughts are headed your way. I understand it is a very treatable form of cancer so that is in your favour. I wish for a fast and complete recovery for Claire. Brian PS Please keep us posted, I am headed for a thyroid biopsy next week and would like to hear how youre doing.

Prayer request
friesman replied to Mel's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. My sister inlaw was diagnosed with Hep C about 7 years ago and went into treatment in an Edmonton hospital about 5 years ago with a Chemotherapy type of treatment and has been HepC free from over 4 years now. They can do wonderful things now with diseases and I am sure with your faith and your great doctors Allie will be fine in due time. But there will be rough times in between, be there for her and support her through the tough times and all will be fine. Brian -

youre aware that it only works when the key is in the acc position? Brian -
I am the first Officer in Regina chapter CMC042 and I find the group real good, friendly and active. But so much of it depends on who is in your local group, here I am lucky to have about 90 great members to go out and socialize and have fun riding with. I like the fact there are real definite rules on drinking and riding and safety is gone over before each ride. I would say go for it, they have free membership and a website that you can almost always find someone to go for a ride. There are National and local rallies to attend if you like and their motto is be as active as you want to be, so no pressure if youre only a once in a while kinda rider. Check out the national webpage and you can join here http://canadianmotorcyclecruisers.ca/cmc/ Let me know how youre doin if you join. Brian

They predicted that same system for us but they were wrong , it stayed south went your way and we didnt get any new snow, just got colder again. The Last few years Ive been riding by now. Brian

While I liked Ricks explanantion of what is happening in Japan, I found this expanation of radiation a bit easier to read and wrap my brain around. http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2010/08/bananas-are-naturally-radioactive/ Brian:banana:

You will have a blast!! Enjoy the trip. Detroit Lakes is a great little town and if youre bored just take a short drive to Mahnomen MN to the Shooting star Casino and hotel. I would take your woolies and rainwear just in case, as Ive been there in June and needed a waterproof jacket. Brian

Ace High Leathers - Technical Difficulties
friesman replied to Luvdaleather's topic in Watering Hole
Looks like a dns issue as the name doesnt resolve. Or maybe the domain name expired and it just needs to be renewed at your Registrar. I looked at the website on Friday or Saturday so this is a fairly recent thing. Brian
