  1. a quick note that the CC you buy in the US isnt the same as what is sold in Canada. In the US it is blended with some Bourbon whiskey for US tastes, in Canada it is not blended. I do not know what version Australia has. IMHO, the Canadian version is a bit smoother, but its all whatcha get used to, I think. (the pricing is much better in the US, so its easy to get used to the blended version....lol) I would recommend sticking with Canada Dry or Schweppes Ginger Ale and avoid the Vernors, its more like a kiddy drink, not a good mixer in my opinion. 2. Use floola for downloading from the ipod, actually synching is a better word. Its free and lets you hookup more than 1 ipod to your computer without deleting your files when it tries to synch 2nd one. have a look here,http://www.floola.com/home Brian
  3. About 4 hours before I bought my set of motorcycle jumper cables....... Brian
  4. you should probably msg e-fishin-c a member here that has an FJR for more info. We know its fast as the local police have gotten to know Charlie pretty well in Ontario Canada since he has bought it. LOL! Brian

  6. that is definitly an 85 like mine and youre luckier than me if it was after the 2nd gear cutoff.. You would like the bigger trunk and its the only year with the bigger trunk that the bags are all easily detachable. Floorboards for the early G1's are very rare and ive seen sets go on ebay for 300 bucks for the front set. And most have pegs for the passengers not boards. Brian
  7. When you have the forks locked and turn the key off it is possible to turn the key on notch farther than locked and that turns on the park lights. It turns on signal lights etc. (Dont ask how I found out about this......) Brian
  8. Ive used tapatalk on my Blackberry and I like it while accessing this form, but it is a stripped down version and eliminates quite a few features from the full web interface. But that is also why I like it as it loads fairly quickly and keeps the interface uncluttered, and makes it easy to see and respnd to posts. Brian
  9. Yeah thats EXACTLY what i wuz thinking........
  10. I dunno, maybe the smartphone is smarter than we are.....

  12. thanks for the input MIke, I already have progressives in Brownie and I love them, but now I am just trying to get class running. Brian PS youre a lightweight.....lol!
  13. It seems I have to remove the left fork cap and the remove the air line from the my class air compressor and use my shop air to blow the oil back into my forks as the class compressor doesnt have enough pressure to do this. It turns out that if a bike goes on its side oil can fill the class hoses and disable the compressor. So I need to know the size of the wrench needed to get that cap off. I know almost enough here to be dangerous, but I think I also need to make sure to get the bike on center stand and get weight off the front wheel. Is there anything else I need to know to pull this cap off? Brian
  14. Well said Don! THe Mods do a great job and I feel they are very fair in their no win situation. The mods kinda have Milk-bone underwear in this dog-eat-dog world.... Brian
  15. Very happy that youre ok!!!! I didnt see if you ride a G1 with the frame mounted fairing or the G2 with the fork mounted fairing. Brian

  19. My first ride of the year the class system was working fine, and then i had the error show up so I did the solder contacts on the class display head. Reassembled it, I could hear a click from the back when I used the class panel but compressor wouldnt run,and then got the e2 error. i really didnt know what it was but had a look at the compressor unit and found it had puked out oil everywhere over license plate etc. So i ordered a replacement compressor unit from ebay and installed yesterday, same issue, the class panel comes up normally but when i select front or back and adjust pressure i hear a solenoid click once but no compressor running and then after a minute the e2 error comes on. What am I missing, is there another componenet that is faulty? or did I get another compressor that doesnt work? Thanks in advance for any help, brian
  20. Let me check, if I still have it, you would be welcome to the spare I might still have. it has no holes. Ive heard from anyone that has tried drilling holes that it makes them run lean and just slows the Brownies down. (kinda like how they run when the lid is off the airbox) Brian

  22. I think its all those chili cook offs .......:rotfl:\ brian
  23. yes , that happens fairly frequently because of a dumb design flaw. but those bars rarely fully collapse from what Ive seen. Brian
  24. I drilled a fine hole in the pivot mechanism under the rubber boot and inserted a small screw with a bent washer to tighten things up a bit. loosen the screw to adjust mirror and then tighten Brian
  25. I think you must have had a bad weld or the bike had possibly been over before weakening it. I know of a few guys that have laid them over and the bar has held up and prevented a lot more damage. Brian
