  1. Pam lives in Manitoba Canada where they have provincially run vehicle registration and insurance bundled together. No competition and Manitobas prices are high even compared to the rest of Canada. My 85 venture runs about 60 bucks a month here in Saskatchewan (next door to Manitoba) but I can just pay for it month by month, I am not sure what the rules are in Manitoba. My Insurance covers collision with 500 ded and liability. I also buy storage insurance for my bike that runs me about 75 bucks a year for 5k replacement protection as my bike sits about 3 or 4 months a year. Brian
  2. I think he has been spending a couple of days with Teri and Irv waiting for weather to warm up and dry out. I think the plan was to start out today and head to MN. but I dont know any schedule. Brian

  5. I bought an auxiliary antenna for my quest GPS when I got that error and it seemed to fix the issue and gives me a bit better coverage and response time thank the built in antenna used to. I think the antenna fits most Garmin gps.s and looks like a satellite radio antenna. I think it was 25 bucks. Brian

  10. Yep, what he said, you have a fair bit of altitude so snow isnt uncommon. Heck there is probably still skiing at Sunshine village just up the road from Banff a few minutes Brian
  11. Its good to hear that you guys are safe and sound, sux that your weather is so wet and cold so far, hopefully it will change for the better soon. take care, Brian
  12. I think he is overnighting in Salmon with Teri and Irv (pakidiaho) Its gorgeous country around there, ive been there a few times myself, but not on the scoot, one of these days hopefully soon. Actually it kinda reminds me of the terrain around Nelson BC in a lot of ways. brian
  13. I guess he forgot to turn it on or something , as long as its on it shows progress along the road, if its not on it takes the shortcuts.... I hear he had a delay,.......something about a sherriff,,,,,,has he been listening to e-fishin-c? :rotfl: Brian

  16. Rocket is on a Cross Continent trip with a friend. They are on an 83 and 86 venture pulling an Aluma trailer, if you see them give them a thumbs up! I hope they have a good time and a safe trip. If anyone wants to follow them on their tour, here is the link to Pauls Spot locator. http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0dW2uviFRmfVBIi65A9vRaQ1osJHe2jOq Brian
  17. Sorry Rick, My G1 85 has the whine, you can hear it around 3000 -3200 rpm and its worse at warmer temps. I gather that its not as bad a some of the g2 bikes, but mine is audible as a Jetson whine (according to my ride friends). On the hot days I do have to turn up the tunes, my HJC full face helmet changes the pitch a bit compared to my 3/4 helmet and helps but its still annoying on a highway ride. If you go to you tube and tpye in kruisn the kootenays and look at a couple of my vids running beside those lakes you can really hear the whine over the wind. Brian
  18. he is hoping that with no badge no one will recognize him............ Brian:group cheers::group cheers:
  19. My thoughts are with you and your family. I am sorry for your pain. Brian
  20. yep, I remember being that age once and 5 years later being amazed at how much my dad had learned!!!!!!:bang head: Brian
  21. you (or someone like Eck with lots of time, LOL) could set up a tshirt for sale at CafePress and eliminate a bunch of time, fussing with sizing and work for you, and let anyone that wants a shirt to order one directly from them. Brian
  22. That may be, but at least we dont have the mountains obstructing the view...... Brian
  23. 300 miles is less than what I will put on this Monday for a local riding group ride, these bikes were made for distance riding. As long as you do regular maintenance you should be fine. Theres no reason to worry, as new bikes have issues as well. If you need some reassurance, maybe get AAA coverage so you can get a tow without breaking the wallet, its nice to know that you wont have to scramble to get someone to look after you when you have the AAA coverage. Brian
  24. Really?I knew things were getting a bit rougher around Vancouver but I didnt realize handguns were getting to be such a big concern there. I think Ive only ever seen 2 handguns up here in person up close, and they were both friends that were LEO that were showing off a new piece. Brian
  25. Yep Crown Royal on ice is my Canadian whiskey of choice...... But again going into the US they add corn whiskey to Crown and blend it, they say for US tastes, but I kinda wonder if its because Corn whiskey is cheaper than the rye whiskey? brian
