  2. hmmm....got a teenager in the house? have you checked your siphon hose lately? Brian
  3. We seem to have the bipolar stuff happening around here as well. THis morning when I went to work the temp was -32c (-26F) but tomorrow will be sunny and 0c (32f) and up to 7c (45f) . We might be riding pretty soon after all, but I am not holding my breath.... Brian
  4. Follow your heart, I think spending more time around home would probably be appreciated more than losing a week or so of pay. Big changes are never easy, but they are necessary in out lives ar times. Good luck with your choices whatever you do. Brian
  5. Wilderness and camping just off road is usually just fine, not in parking lots or in cities. But Walmart parking lots are fine.....there are lots of camping places and rest stops along most roads in BC and Alberta until you get quite a long way north. Brian
  6. Ride,StopnGo has put a lot of riding vids on the net and support the Western Canada riding community. They have biking vids on You Tube thru the Rockies and thru most of BC and Alberta, showing off some of the best riding on the continent. They even have some vids posted when they biked down to Mexico, and up to Alaska. They have put together a webpage some ideas and general info you should know when planning to ride up here. We hope you all come up for a visit, it gives us another excuse to go for a ride... I think ive fixed the link now Brian Canada - Best Motorcycle Rides & Roads
  7. I just posted one size from one manufacturer to give an idea of what I was looking at. There are several different on that site so ill look for the correct one and post it here. One manufacturer also makes the parts that mounts on the bars a bolt-on too, making for a quick disconnect for everything. I am out tonight, but Ill try to find what I want and post it on here in the next couple of days. Brian
  8. My RSV is still in storage and I wonder if anyone would help me out and measure how wide the total measurement is across the handlebars before the bend to the handgrips. The bar I am looking at is somewhat adjustable but I need to know a rough measurement to get the right length. I am looking at getting something to mount between the handlebars similar to the one in the link below, so I can attach my camera and other accessories to when on a ride. I want it to be a quick disconnect thing as I wouldn't want it all the time, just on trips. 9. Enjoy!!!! my friend Rod has that same bike and he says of all the bikes he has ever owned that is his favourite. Brian
  10. I was thinking it might be an issue with your ignition switch, is your key getting warm? Brian BTW trying to decide on summer rides, and trying to figure out details....whats the ferry cost to get a bike to the island?
  11. I loved having the 6x12 for the garage for my bike. But, in a weak moment a guy made me an offer I couldn't refuse to buy it. BUT within a day or 2 I was kicking my butt for selling it. I am currently in the hunt for another trailer to be my garage again... Brian
  12. Rick, mine felt a bit squirrely when I was carrying a passenger the first time. I played with air pressure in the back shock and in the forks and found if I kept the back shock pretty high in air pressure and bumped up the front a bit, the bike handles great now with a passenger. When I don't have a passenger I drop the air pressure down so it gives a smoother ride. To me the tire performance is worth the little bit of fiddling with air, its so improved over what it was before. Brian
  13. I am not sure if there are any whitewalls still available for the G1 Ventures. I think some used to buy the Dunlop 404. Brian
  14. Thanks! I would like to talk to you about a hitch and also about a platform for the back that goes into the stinger. I do a bit of event hopping with RAGE in the province, and it would be handy to have some extra storage.
  15. There is an audio downloader/convertor that takes the youtube vids and just saves the audio in mp3 format usually.
  16. Ive found that there isn't much that I can think of that isn't on youtube, its great for old movies and tv, to old and obscure music.
  17. Yeah we don't have any accents up here,....its the guys south of the border that have the accents... Brian
  18. Skydoc or MiCarl may have something,...they seems to have most stuff we need. Brian
  19. Why not just find what you like on You tube and use a downloader in firefox to get it to your computer. Youll know that youtube has decent quality and its not likely to have viruses. I now use Simple Youtube and Video Converter 2.0.rev0 and you just click on addons in Firefox, look for the addon name and click to install. when viewing a video you can start the program and it will save the youtube video as an MP3 or MP4. Brian
  20. A couple of Calgary AB bikers run a biker tv show a half dozen times a year. They post ride ideas from all over Alberta and BC, and look like they have some fun while doing it. Anyone looking at travelling by bike into Alberta or BC might find these shows interesting, there are 3 seasons of videos listed. Ill put up the link to the Kananaskis Pass episode outside of Calgary and if you want to see more you'll have to follow the links in YouTube. Brian
  21. I think the only time I had the luggage off my 85 was when it was having mechanical work done. it was always on the bike. Brian
  22. Here is a link to a video of Kitimat BC today after a huge dump of snow. Ill bet youre glad youre heading up in summer after seeing this... Brian Drone footage of Kitimat blizzard | Watch News Videos Online
  23. the clicking you hear before pressing the start button is the fuel pump filling the carbs. I would think its a weak battery or loose or dirty battery posts. You could try by jumping it from your car (car always turned off so you don't fry the bike's electrics), if it starts your issue is probably the battery. I would have the battery tested when you go buy a new one, as there is a slim chance its your stator or regulator not charging your battery. Brian
  24. I would suspect that Rick (SilvrT)has it right that you don't have a workgroup set up properly or perhaps you havnt created a folder on one machine to be shared on your network that you can all attach to, and exchange files back and forth. try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRtcW9OHA-k Brian
