  1. I think this might be what youre looking for, but hang on to your hat when you catch the price. http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=JM-JBLU-BHDG07 Brian
  2. We are all glad that youre here to tell us the story and that you had a great anniversary.. Congrats on the anniversary!!!! Brian
  3. Hey Jack if youre using wireless maybe your neighbour has moved his wireless access point to the same channel youre using . Maybe try downloading a free program like wifi analyzer and have a look and see whos around you using wireless and check what channels they are using. This just dawned on me this morning when my bandwidth dropped to nothing, when I checked, one of my neighbours upstairs had a Wireless router using the same channel that I was. I moved mine to a new channel that looked fairly clear and my speeds are back up to they were before. Try this download http://www.snapfiles.com/get/wlnetview.html Brian
  4. I have no doubt that your 83 could make the trip if its in good running order. I would think about also getting a spare fuel filter, maybe a spare fuel pump, and put some Ride-On in your tires to help prevent a flat. Also, make sure that you print out a list of the member here before you go, so if something does happen you have a contact that knows the area and the bike. Brian
  5. thanks for the update, We appreciate the news on how Dano is doing. Brian
  6. Hey Jack, how much ram are ya running? If youre running less than 4gigs bump it up to 4, not much point in going past that though unless youre running 64 bit, and even then I dont think you would ever be able to use it all. Adding more ram is probably your cheapest upgrade, but sometimes it depends on type of ram Brian
  7. Ive gotten caught a couple of times on snow on my 85. Went to work and didnt notice the snow starting, all was fine on the way home, but a bit slow moving and tentative. I didnt find that fresh snow was too bad to ride on, but ive been on roads that have had some ice on them, and have had those really thow a scare into me. Actually took mine out for a quick spin last weekend, roads were kinda dry but ice on the shoulders, I needed my fix and got a short ride in so I felt better for a while...lol We had a 4 inch snowfall over the last couple of days but I didnt go riding in that, too much ice underneath. I think my ride time will officially be over now, though, our first cold spell is hitting tonight, -20c isnt going to melt any snow anytime soon. Brian
  8. OOOO No! I gotta poke out my minds eye now!!!!!! Boomer in longjohns!!!!theres an image I didnt need!!!!!! Brian
  9. Hey Randy I am sorry to hear of your eye problems. The good news is that you can still do everything with one eye that you did with two, but please look after your good eye. About the only thing that might give you issues is depth perception, like when someone hands you a beer or a coffee,( I still have to use two hands as I cant tell exactly where it is.) Take care of yourself, we are here for you if you need anything at all. Brian
  10. I was married to a woman for 10 years who was in what they called "the truth" when I met her. SOme of the stories I heard when she left were pretty amazing to me, but this isnt the forum for that.... You do have to remember that the Witnesses have their own agenda and I would have to see both sides of an issue before taking anyones word on a topic they are avid followers of. But I do beleive the more we can do surgery without using blood the better it will make recovery and it will lessen chances of any blood products infecting someone else. As we do more and more of this type of surgery we will need less and less blood products as we will get better and better at it over time. Even with screening there is a small chance of passing something on. (its small but still a risk) Brian
  11. hmmm hafta see how this is gonna work,....might make it this year , its early enough not to catch me at a busy time. Brian
  12. Yep, they always do...I am amazed at how quickly some guys can figure out a new scam on something. Brian
  13. It looks like we are going to update the Canadian money yet again. This newest edition is definitely eye catching and looks to be tough on security, I am wondering about it being a plastic polymer and how it feels when spending, lol! 14. Not much cabin fever here yet, I had mine started and rode it around the block,.....then the sleet started so I thought it was time to get home...lol I was going to run it into the Collision shop to get the repairs done. I guess it might be trailer time to get it over to the shop. Brian

  19. You might find this page handy as it lists the owners manual and some service diagrams etc. http://www.yamahaventure.nl/en/usermanuals.html Brian
  20. Thanks for posting this Kevin, the article says the driver of the PT Cruiser may have had medical issues so I am thinking that nothing short of the concrete barriers would have prevented this tragedy from happening. The Malahat is a busy, steep, winding road and the biking community is lobbying the govt for the concrete barriers for a quick fix to save lives, and then are lobbying for the highway to be widened and improved after that. Brian
  21. Well come on up here to Western Canada anytime, we would be happy and proud to show you around and even supply a bed or sofa for you Brian
  22. I love the transitions. I got them specifically for the bike originally so I wouldnt have to hunt around for sunglasses that I was always leaving laying around. I have the darkest ones made and the get dark within 20 secs of being outside, but take longer to lighten. When they are less than a couple of years old they get back to clear pretty will. After that they seem to be a bit slowere to get dark and never get compltetely clear either.I change glasses every couple of years so it doesnt see m to be a concern for me. Its great not having to pack other glasses along! brian
  23. its hard to say, because Ponch, the fellow that made up most of the plates had an accident with his bike and is recuperating. brian
  24. its only 12:12 here in SK, hafta work at 7 but cant sleep. Brian
  25. I can go sledding on a Venture ( http://www.travelizmo.com/archives/002262.html ) in January. THen we will try to compare notes again in July and August.......i know of some guys in the south that wont ride from June til Sept, so it works out the same whether some have snow, or not. brian
