  1. Here is something that you might find handy. Ive been using it for a while now and have lost almost 30lbs since Cody. Its called fitbit and its a clip that you carry with you and it logs your activity in 5 minute increments and calculates your calorie usage and stats based on your size and data. you also input your food and it works out how you did for that day and sets targets (or lets you set targets). It also uploads the data on the clip to your computer everytime you get within 20 feet of your computer, making it invisbile to you and easy to use. The clip also has a readout on it that you can look at throughout the day to see how youre doing. I used my grocery store card points to get a free one to try out and its been great. http://www.fitbit.com/
  2. Glad its nothing too serious, we need to get quite a few more rides across Nevada and Wyoming outta you yet. Brian
  3. He was around on the 28th here is the link http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=67422 maybe check that your message actually got sent, occasionally they end up stuck somewhere in your folders. Brian
  4. I like McD's better for coffee in the morning, its now a good blend of coffee (McD's used to have awful coffee) and they use a double walled cup so you dont burn your hands carrying it any distance. Plus I can have their oatmeal with fruit on top with a coffee for under 3 bucks, thats the same price as a donut and coffee and probably a bit better for me, plus I get free refills and i can use the free WIFI to plan my workday and do my tickets. 5. You missed your chance for a fairly close one last year in CodyWy. But you could go another few miles north and head to Kruisn the Koots in JUly. We need more G1 Ventures out, the G2's and the Goldwings are like an infestation....:rotfl: Brian
  6. thats what happened when I broke the cable on my G1 85. Was riding along the highway with ctuise on, flip off the cruise and go to pass, and NOTHING! It would return but no pull to get the speed. I ended up using the Choke to bring up my idle so I could get home. I took it to the dealer, and wanted them to replace every cable, it runs fine since. brian
  7. I just need one, but ill send my address in Paypal when I pay as I dont want my info all over the net. Brian
  8. You could always do like that ad with the blind guy that bought the Bike. Load it on a trailer and get your wife to tow you, on the bike, on the trailer around town to get your bike fix. Brian
  9. For 100,000 bucks it aint coming anywhere close to my driveway.. Brian
  10. If all you need is an Ipod connection, have you considered just tapping into the bikes existing stereo? Thanks to member Scotty in here and his hilarious website, here is a link to the pin out connections you need and how to wire it up. Look for the link to GPS and IPOD wiring. While youre on Scotts website have a look around, its good for a chuckle or two. http://www.delusional-mechanic.com/ Brian
  11. Great work! Youve got every right to be proud of a talent like he has.
  12. Definitely interested, but itdoes somewhat depend on pricing. I hate squeaks :-) Brian
  13. This company is offering lens rebuild kits, and seems to offer many different options for different models. I would check him out and let us know how it goes. http://newrivercyclesalvage.com/sight-glass.html Brian
  14. I think its a great idea Carl, and I am surprised more arent taking advantage of this idea to get more shiny stuff on their G1 Venture. I love the look on mine! brian
  15. send painterman a msg, I saw where he had done that swap on his 86(?) Brian
  16. I use Pledge on my windshield and my visor. It does a great job of removing those really annoying light swirls but it doesnt do much for the deeper scratches. It also needs to be redone fairly often to keep the visor swirl free. Brian
  17. For those on a budget there are also a few rooms available for a single travaller that are a no frills room , single bed, tv, sink toilet shower. but no A/C . If I remember these are 47 bucks a night, these are a great alternative to camping. Brian
  18. I run about 300-350 bucks a month in my 2007 Escape getting to work and also making calls to the 50 schools in town. But in the Bike season my expenses drop by over 100 bucks a month as the bike is a lot cheaper to ride around town for work. Brian
  19. I am sorry to hear of your pain, Mark. My condolences to you and your family. Brian
  20. thanks for the lively discussion it kept me entertained while i was looking around. I found what I was looking for. Its a pressurized bladder system that can be bought with or without the backpack and all the accessories. here is a link to the bladder with the bulb and line , I understand that extra lines are available to make it longer so I can mount it in my trunk. http://www.shopatron.com/products/productdetail/3%20Litre%20Hydration%20Engine/part_number=GRGG2%200100%20PY/3323.0.1.1.70315.0.0.0.0?referring_products=pdp|c4517d82dce9479f7b88dadeebee00f6 Brian
  21. On the hot sunny days you sweat so much that you dont have to stop and eliminate nearly as often. There was some days last summer when it was around 100f that you could drink all day and never stop except for gas. I am on a med that makes my mouth dry and i like to have a sip every once in a while but its tough with the full face helmet. ive seen some bladders that marathon runners use that were pressurized with a valve on the end of the hose, but now I cant find one... figgers.... Brian
  22. I only get a bit over 2 hours between fills, but I saw that contraption and thought it would generate some discussion about what everyone is using to drink from on the road. I use a full face helmet and would like to find something that uses a pressurized container that would push through a tube with a thumb valve on the end that I could drink from on the move. I dont always want to pull over, take off the helmet and have a drink. Brian
  23. I found this item on the net this morning and got to thinking that if I found a way to attach it to the trunk, and run the hoses to the front, it would be a great way to stay hydrated on those warm dry summer days, LOL!...:cool10: Alcohol-free of course! (at least until we got to destination:group cheers:) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0055NWNOS/?tag=047-20 Brian
  24. you probably shouldnt use anything with ammonia in it on the plastic as ammonia will attack and yellow the plastic. I would just use a very mild hand soap and water solution and finsh it with pledge. for me,the pledge cleans the windshield well and doesnt yellow anything. Brian
  25. i understand there might be a slight difference where the mufflers bolt at the back, but not sure what the difference may be. Brian
