  1. I am sad over ponchs situation and hope david's health issues and any other issues can be healed. Best thoughts to David and Kathy and still hoping for Davids improvement.
  2. this is a list of most bikes performance stats. The Venture is down the list about 3/4 of the way. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/performancedata/122_0108_pdataresults/index.html Brian
  3. But keep pushing the dealer for a replacement shock. If you get one from Yamaha, then take it off and sell it to help pay for your Hagon... Brian
  4. Welcome to the group! Congrats on the RSTD! Take it easy getting used to that big new bike and maybe you can drive around between now and the time you get your new baby and look for a level parking lot with no sand or gravel so you can practice getting the feel of cornering. Here is one part of the Ride like a Pro DVD on you tube that will help you out, There are several parts of the DVD on youyube try to watch them all or buy the video, there is a wealth of good info there. Also, there are several great sorurces of inof in your area, like Dano in INdy, Delagrassiass in Fort Wayne and lots more around that are willing to help you out. 5. good luck with breaking in the new son in law! it takes a firm hand and lots of time, but eventually youll get him trained the way youlike...LOL Brian
  6. the one the KenP has linked to in ebay looks like the one that I bought with the group buy. i think it has a bigger capapcity than stock and will help enable you to actually make use of the higher output stator if you decide to go that way. brian
  7. thought that was your bathtub....... Brian
  8. you just found out why I think the progressives are probably your best 100 bucks spent on a G1 Venture. The just change the whole character of the bike. Am glad youre happy with the results. Brian
  9. Geez, Gary you do everything against the stream dont you, most bike go from the US to Canada. I have no idea what you would have to do on your end. Brian
  10. not sure what part you mean, do you have a pic? Brian
  11. Its probably like we are at work, anything over a certain dollar level has to be advertised nationally and anyone can bid on it. Its too bad, but you cant giver preference to the local suppliers. If a proposal matches what your requirements are, its gonna be hard not to take it, if its the lowest bid (Ive seen places in a lawsuit when they didnt take the lowest bid) Brian
  12. the preload spacer was left out of mine also, as Rocket though it might make the ride harsh and raise the front of the bike a bit high. Brian
  13. oh No....... Mike, Mike Mike......are you getting bored tonight? Brian
  14. I used a porcelain covering paint called Klenks to refinish I sink a couple of years ago. I bought it at home depot and I think a pint of the paint is around 20 bucks. You have to be very careful about cleaning the sink, before you use any paint. I changed the colour of the sink from avocado to white and it worked well, but you have to take your time. I still think its less time and work than changing the sink. I didnt buy the thinner or rest of kit, just the epoxy paint. Brian http://www.swingpaints.com/8100_8199us_can.htm
  15. sorry would like to help, but I am mostly a hardware guy.. Its been a long time since ive looked at doing any coding. Brian
  16. Kevin, I think it was on sale for 120 bucks plus shipping a while back, and I dont know about the work on a G2. Cougar, I dont know, I was just chatting with nacho and a couple guys on FB and got a little bit of info, but they did say they would let me know when they are ready to go ahead. (I think FB page is https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002677304707 ) Brian
  17. Nacho from Venturers helped with it and tested it, but another member there designed and made it. They are currently working on a bluetooth/mp3 interface for the G1 bikes, pricing and availability should be available fairly soon. Brian
  18. I am not sure as the pic isnt closeup, but I think it has the bigger trunk, and that would make it an 85. It sure aint gonna get 60mpg, so I would doubt everything else about this bike too. Brian
  19. We will all miss you this year,.... but.... looking forward to catching up another time! brian
  20. The altitiude might cause some mileage issues, but last summer at the Intl meet,a ton of Ventures did the 11000 ft summit of the Beartooth and I didnt hear of anyone having carb issues. We went from over 100f down in the valley to just above freezing in a short time with no issues, even on my old 85. I did see a couple of FI bikes that were having some issues tho. But it would have been a great ride regardless, Thanks for letting us share in it with your blog. It was great being able to track and follow along. Brian
  21. Sorry to see anyone take a tumble off a bike, but am darn happy that youre ok and that your pain will go away fairly soon. Brian
  22. the dealer here in town had at least a couple brand new RSTD's in stock too, and in Jan I saw an all in price of 12.5k out the door. I woulda been on that but timing for finanaces just wasnt there and it looks like I am gonna have my 85 for another season. Brian
