  1. I was sent a link to a promo vid of the Canadian Rockies and thought some of you might like to have a look. Its filmed in HD In will be told that a few times in the vid, but the scenery and roads are breathtaking in Banff, Jasper, Yoho and Kootenays National Parks. Its about 8 mins long. Remember if you havnt planned your vacation yet we are in Nelson BC to the Kruisn Kootenays Ride on the July 1st weekend. http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/4CMb7yj8Cyk?rel=0&%3bhd=1 brian ....and remember its in 1080 HD..... youll see what I mean......
  2. If youre having big issues that you cant resolve, get in touch with Skydoc in here, I think he makes up a kit to do away with the proportioning valve and make your bikes brakes work more like a regular bike. Actually Skydoc is a good guy to talk to anyway as he sells a lot of parts for our bikes and provides the complete kit for any fix usually with instructions for us backyard types. Goodluck with your Venture and welcome to the group. You will find that the 12 bucks to join this group is money well spent to be able to tap the knowledge and help (and smartass remarks:rotfl:) in here Brian
  3. Have you tried this? Its cheap and if it works its a lot easier than replacing fork seals. I had a set come in the mail the other day just have here in case my seals ever start to leak. I kinda figger its a nothing to lose situation to try them out if my seals start to leak. http://www.sealmate.net Brian Sorry I gotta learn to read and not just skim over stuff, I didnt read that you had already torn them apart...DOH!
  4. If you messed up a side bag on the 85, I have a spare set here in ok shape if you need. Just pay for shipping from here. Brian
  5. Hmmm Ive had mine act up a couple of times now, and the common denominator with your experience is a gravel road. Once with mine I know I got a bump on the oil pan so I wondered if a stone bumped something and pinched a wire, the light stayed red for a day or 2 and then went off. Just last weekend I was coming off a gravel road and the light came on but I didnt feel anything hit the bottom of the bike, the light stayed on until I accelerated very hard out of a dead stop and right hand corner. So now its got me wondering if I have something in the oil pan moving around and making contact with the sensor. (last oil change I did find what looked like a part of a gear tooth stuck to the magnetic oil plug, I think it was still in there from when we replaced the output gears a while back....at least thats where I am hoping its from ....) brian I do know the particle is NOT from drilling holes in the oil filter though...... Right Rick?
  6. I miss reading his technical input on our bikes. I find his depth of knowledge amazing on bikes. I hope his break is a good one for him but still hope he hurries back. Brian
  7. Great looking lights, do you have the link where you ordered them from? I also love the V4 logo and wondering where you got that too! Brian
  8. Just drop skydoc a message here in VR and tell him what you need and he will fix you up. He sells everything you need to fix the clutch, complete with gasket and instructions. Brian
  9. I was trying to think of a way to see parts of Saskatchewan I hadnt seen before, and to have an excuse for a ride. Its almost the size of Texas so there is a lot of ground to cover. So, I went thru a list of towns and cities in the province and saw some fun town names and thought i should visit these places just because of their names. Big Beaver about 2 1/2 hours sw Climax about 4 hours Sw Smuts about 3 1/2 hours N Fertile about 3 1/2 hours SE Sucker River about 7 hours N Sound like interesting rides? LOL :rotfl:
  10. Depending on speed, windspeed and loading it varies, but most of the time I am around 150 miles from full in the neck (with the bike standing straight upright) until the light comes on. Brian
  11. I have the Q2 and I dont stream music using bluetooth, I use the included coiled cable to stream the music and use the bluetooth for phone calls only. I have had mine about 2 summers now and still get 8 hours of listenening time with mine, and I agree the fm is a bit fidgety, bu it works ok around town. What i use now is a garmin 765t GPS that uses an Sd card to hold music and then transmoit it on an fm signal that the headsets pic up with ease, and when directions are spoken it automatically cuts the music volume and gives you the directions nice and loud... Brian
  12. Ive replaced both the console and the air pump a couple of times and am still getting an e2 error. tried soldering the control and even taking one cap off the fork and blowing air back into the lines forward to clear any fork oil back into the tubes with no result. Brian
  13. I have gotten so many calls lately that I dont answer anything that I dont recognize on call display. Brian
  14. Hmmm I dont know, but I have the 765t as well, keep us posted..... Brian
  15. Mine are the same key as the front of the bag to open them up. Maybe spray some wd40 to loosen up the lock and wiggle it until it loosens up, then slide it back and out.....or was that forward and out....
  16. Thsi solution looks pretty easy but a bit spendy. If its as good as they say it might be a worthwhile upgrade. It looks to me like the headlight is probably a bolt in and just hide the ballast in the fairing and route the wires. http://www.futurevisionhid.com/products/headlights/h6054-200mm-motorcycle-hid-projector-headlight.html Brian
  17. Thanks for the reminder and a chuckle at your expense back in the day! :rotfl: Brian
  18. Ive found that a lighter coloured helmet help keep some heat off you a bit too. But a helmet with all the features I want in white or silver just wasnt available when I bought mine about 4 years ago. I am starting to look for a new helmet now, and will definitely go to silver or white helmet if I can find what I want. Brian
  19. Phil, Thanks for all the parts and the help in getting things fixed up so I could get her back on the road. The shop did a good job of matching up colour and fixing everything up for me, very pleased with the end result. The repair bill came to about 3400 bucks, I was surprised that it wasnt ttled, but glad that I have my Brownie back! Brian
  20. I spent the day doing some delayed maintenance on Brownie after a long winter of bike rehab. After the slide I put her thru last fall, she spent most of the winter in a Body shop getting a fresh makeover on the left side. Today i checked over most areas of the bike and changed oil, and used pledge or some form of polish on almost every area of the bike. I think Brownie is looking fine and she is ready for another year of riding. brian
  21. Or find a supply of decals similar to these that have the right lettering on. http://www.dashdecals.com/page/page/6414672.htm Brian
  22. How about using a stencil , there should be some around stencils that you could lay out and the paint inside the stencil. Brian
  23. I think they were talking price, Gary the British Pound Sterling
  24. Dave all my positive thoughts go to you and Jamie. Youre having a rough spot right now but I am sure its all a very short and temporary situation. Several years ago the company I was working for went into bankruptcy and I lost my job. At the time I thought it was a bad thing, and I was very stressed. As it ended up I was barely out of work for a week and my wage more than doubled when i caught on with a new situation. There is always a door to open and now you have a chance to look for the right door that will fit your situation perfectly. Brian
