  1. I think there is a bike rally going on in Nelson almost anytime you get there. Last week probably was the Triumph rally, they are based out thf the new Grand hotel like Kruisn the kootenys is. The KTJK rally has always been held on the July 1st weekend but we have has rain issues the last couple of times, so there has been thoughts givine to puching it off until August, but it hasnt been deciced yet.
  2. Sure I dont get that way very often, but about once a year or so,but will try to track you down when I am in the area. Most years we have a get together in Nelson BC that quite a few of us from Western Canada and the northern States try to attend. I cant remember the site where you go to get the coloured in maps but Ill try and find it for you. then you save the map to your computer. Then at the top left column of your screen youll see user cp click on it and find signature, and paste it into the box..
  3. Orlin , Glad youre back, see, this place is like Hotel California,.... Mattressdancer, Welcome to the group, It looks like we are getting a growing number of us from Western Canada. I hope we cross paths sometime. Brian

  8. I loved that trip that I rode it twice last year, loved it! except for the slippery, greasy tar snakes. I was following Broafoot and myrna down on their Roadstar and he almost took a guardral on one. Had ta ride the second time to if I could keep up with Dano. Brian
  9. a quick tip to get the chains the right length is to twist them around and around, kind loke when you would twist a rubberband around and around to make the propeller on a toy airplane spin. As tou twist the chain it becomes shorter until you get the length you need. Brian
  10. If youre worried about the bike letting you down somewhere on the road, maybe do the ignition bypass mod that allows you to start your bike as it by passes your switch until you can get your switch fixed or replaced. Brian
  11. ITs just because youre getting older...... Brian
  12. Global TV was on Kootenay Lake about a 45 minute ride from Nelson BC filming some background video on a bad landslide that killed 4 people a few days ago. While filming their background another ladnslide hit and almost got them in their boat. It would really take your breath away to see this coming at you knowing that parts of a town and 4 people were killed the same way. 17. IMHO deer are just likr big grasshoppers, in that theyre not smart enuff to know which way to jump, their instict just drives them to jump SOMEWHERE. I beleive they cant control which way they jump, so if you see a deer in the road and you cant stop, you should aim directly for it rather than avoid it. You cant predict where its going, and you know its going to move so your best chance to me, is knowing that the odds are that its going to move away from the spot it currently occupies. This is just my feelings on the matter and how I do things, I am not telling anyone to go out and hit deer with their bike.(or car) Brian
  18. I dont have the deer whistles and deer do that for me too....
  19. Jack, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, I cant imagine what you and your family are experiencing right now, my thoughts are with you. WOW, 45 years together, lots of good memories and good times to help get you and your family through this tough time. I know myself and anyone in VRO will be here if you need anything at all, I know everyone says that, but with this group you know its not just word service, we do mean it. Brian
  20. for a homebuilt type of option, maybe a sidecar might be an easier option to start with. Brian
  21. IMHO save your money... if a deer cant already hear your bike coming, with the mufflers and stereo going, its sure not going to hear a deer whistle. Brian
