Performance decrease out west?
friesman replied to BigLenny's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I took my 85 up over the Beartooth pass last year at 11000ft and had no issues at all. Brian -
youre really shipping your boys all over Western Canada arent you? Is this the start of the BC takeover plan? Brian

the G2 Venture trikes are the best looking trikes around when using the Hannigan trike in my mind. i was sold when I saw Larry's (Carbon One) in Cody WY, nice rig!! I am slated for a hip replacement in late fall so I am watching this thread pretty closely too... Brian

MKII parts on a MKI
friesman replied to Rickaroo's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
the trunk off an 85 or newer should fit as a bolt on, but youll need the rack under the trunk (the 85 is different as it is removable like the earlier models) that matches the trunk to bolt it to, and youll also probably need the antenna mounts to extend it out wider to clear the new trunk. Brian -
We are not socialists up here, its a democracy, evidently you wouldnt know a socialist if it bit you. The insurance industry in Ontario is run very similar to the way it is in most of the states with each state and Province having its own rules and pricing based on market. The Canadian Govt has little to do with setting prices on insurance, it just monitors that regulations are being followed. Different parts of Canada are charged widely varying prices, and a couple of insurance companies are run by a provincially run agency. Brian

I dont remember seeing them on the 2011 RSV's and I dont think you should need steering dampers on any bike. I can see them on a trike where you rake the forks back,... but what do I know.....everything I know about bikes I learned from here....lol Brian

I just use the Scala headsets with FM radio and a jack to hookup an mp3 player. No need to hook anything up and with the speakers in the helmet you still hear traffic around you.. I also use a Garmin 765t gps with its fm transmitter turned on so I get the directions to the headset, but the gps unit also has a slot for an sd card that I fill with music and stream it to my headsets using the FM transmitter in the GPS and then set the Scala headset to recieve that frequency.. No wires, nothing to install on the bike. brian

I hate it when that happens..... Brian

The trike might be , but not sure about any mods, I wasnt sure what mods you had on your Harley trike. Brian

Gee, I never turn mine off, I just reach around and unplug the unit from the bike The unit runs almost anytime I am on the bike, sometimesfor days at a time, as mine is wires directly to the battery, not theu the switch. I dont use the mapping features nearly as much as I use the music, though. Brian

Might be a good one for an Aussie lass to buy, mod it, and leave over here to save on the shipping costs and hassles... Brian

thats why you need the Defender Motorcycle jeans from Diamond Gussett. They have a velcro closeing tab at the bottom of the leg to stop those little hitchhikers from taking a ride with ya, Plus ya get the Kevlar in the butt, hip and knee as a bonus... Brian (FYI, I dont have anything to do with Diamond Gusset , I am just a very satisfied customer....)

My 85 snapped the shaft just in front of the ujoint, right where the shaft exits the back of the engine and it kind sounded like a pop when spun at slow speed. Welcome to the nut house,..... Good luck with the bike, they are relaiable and mostly trouble free, but there are issues occasionally like anything... Brian

Oil Question??
friesman replied to af226's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Just make sure the container doesnt have "Energy Conserving" anywhere on the label or it will probably cause your clutch to slip. A ton of PPL here are using Shell Rotella T Brian -
I would suggest getting a new harddrive andinstall it in your computer, set your old hd on the side for now. Reinstall windows on your new harddrive and get everything updated and reinstalled. I would also buy an external case for a harddrive (cheap) and put your old drive into it. your computer should then recognize your external drive and allow you to get your picture files and other importanat data off it.. When youre absolutely sure you have everything off the old drive that you need format it and use it as a way to backup your files. Pm me if you have any quesions. Brian
