  1. We had record snowfall over a large part of the province this past winter, (almost as large as Texas) and we are in widespread flooding as it melts. Its gonna get ugly this week as the temps are going to be into low 70's or more and with a record cold Mar and April there was no "slow" melt BTW watch out as most of the rivers end up south into the Missouri system. Brian
  2. this was filmed a few days ago when the river started melting and flowing downstream into the ice locked lower portion of the Codette reservoir on Saskatchewan River. To give you perspective the leading edge ice is being pushed about 3 metres (10feet) in the air. its also way better to view at full screen so you can see detail. Its hard to imagine the power when you realize the ice is almost 3 feet thick.
  3. Nothing definte, but about 90% that it will be first week of August. Brian
  4. I hear ya,and I would love to go, but I have family that moved out to Kamloops BC and have a commitment to make a tour to visit them and other family this summer. I just don't think my budget can take all the abuse with spending all that money on the new bike. Brian
  5. thks Larry Ill be tlking to you soon about a lift stand. Brian
  6. Well, my 85 Venture died last fall, and so has forced me kicking and screaming into an update of my choice of motorcycles. I came home last night from Calgary AB with a 2003 RSV in a uhaul trailer. I got it licenced, insured and started riding it a bit after lunchtime today and spent most of the day riding. Overall I like it, especially once its rolling faster than 30kmh and the comfort is great. I am having issues figuring out the radio controller and don't like slow speed maneuvering so far, but I am sure ill get better with it. ( It has new Bridgestones on it, and I know that everyone says the "Stones handle badly at slow speeds so Ill deal with it for a while. Its only got about 44000 kms on it and it does not have a mark on it anywhere, and I love the colour. Tonight I gotta read the manual and get a handle on the audio functions, and then it will be off for a ride out of town tomorrow. Brian:dancefool:
  7. I think Reggieman and possibly Gordo were thinking about it, but I havnt talked to them for awhile. I just cant make it this year, money is spreading a bit too thin at times. Brian
  8. this is an ancient thread , so I doubt anyone will reply as it looks like the member that was making the spacers is no longer making them. I am wondering if anyone else has considered making them or if anyone has a spare kicking around, as it looks like ill be moving into the world of the G2 bikes. Thanks Brian
  9. When direct wiring my 765t I found that the garmin was a lower voltage than my bike output. I looked on the net and found a power adapter wire kit made especially for the purpose for about 25 bucks. (or buy the cigarette adapter that has the right voltage for your GPS, probably from Garmin) Brian
  10. Possibly your forks are turned enough to put pressure on the key so you cant turn the key. Try wiggling your handlebars back and forth while turning the key. MY 85 would get fussy from time to time and it needed the forks moved to be able to turn the key. Brian
  11. youre just a tease!!!! We need pics next time for sure!

  13. Best Wishes in your new home and new job!!!!
  14. here is another option, there are quite a few of these around, at least wherever the bald eagles aren't. We have similar country to Nebraska so it might like it south of here too. I saw one take a neighbours cat after dive bombing it a few times to disable it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prairie_Falcon Brian

    Ooma VOIP

I don't know anything about ooma, but I am using NetTalk Voip. SO far I am pretty happy with it. It costs 59 CDN to buy the unit and that includes the first years servce, the next year will be 39 bucks. For an extra 30 bucks they will move your existing number to their service, but it does take about 3 weeks to get it done. Brian
  16. the first thing I would check is any oil leaking out of the rear shock as its an 800 buck fix. Brian
  17. I rode it /driven it a few times. I get on it from Western ND and follow it through Montana into Glacier. Its a good road, well maintained as far as I can see, it is sometimes slower going as it goes through a lot of small towns and the speed limits drop, but I like that as it gives a chance to look around and stop. During the day you should be fine but at night keep your fuel full and watch the ditches for deer! Brian
  18. The 83-93 Ventures are taller than the new Ventures and the floor boards are a different config. With the G1 Venture config has a feet below hip config so most people have to put their legs down on the outside edge of the boards when stopped, meaning that you need longer legs to reach the ground. The G2 Ventures have a different seating position with your feet more out front of you so when you put your feet down its probably behind the back edge of the boards making it easier to get a firm foot down. Brian
