  6. congrats on the new wheels! that's a sharp looking bike. Brian
  7. I liked the CCT , I almost bought a gorgeous metallic lime green one sitting in the dealers. But just couldn't convince myself that it was 15k more than the 2003 RSV that I bought. Brian
  8. I agree, but if you hold your mouse button down and drag across the page it changes the volour enough to read it. Brian
  9. I went out to my new to me 2003 RSV today and noticed the CB antenna was missing above the lower ballast collar. I don't know what happened to it, but I am looking for a replacement and it doesn't have to be OEM style. I don't know anything about electronics so I would like it to be a screw on replacement if possible. The local dealer just informed me that he is asking 246 for the cb mast, and partshark is 154 and boats.net is 176. I was thinking for that kind of price I may be able to get a newer style solution. Thanks in advance for you ideas, Brian
  10. Mike, We had the easy part, you have the hard part of watching her hurt and helping her get better. I am Wishing you guys all the best care and luck in getting her well and getting your work issues fixed up. Thinking of you guys, Brian
  11. that was done on the 85, I am not having any issues with the 2003 but thought why sell it if the parts will fit. Brian
  12. I am going through my leftover parts for my 85 and came across an unused SKYdoc rebuild kit for my clutch on the 85. Will any of the disks work with my 2003 RSV? I would hate to sell it and then need to rebuy the same thing later. thnks, Brian
  13. I have used SImple Green for years, get the bike wet spray on the Simple Green let it sit for a couple of minutes and hose off. Its non toxic to kids or pets, and removes grease very well. It hasn't ever caused any issues with paint or chrome over the years and the label says its safe for paint. Brian
  14. that describes the noise I heard both times the shaft snapped in front of the ujoint, where the shaft exites the engine/trans case. Brian
  15. I think everyone else has covered most of the options I would just like to say welcome to the group and good luck with your new Venture. Brian
  16. We had record snowfall over a large part of the province this past winter, (almost as large as Texas) and we are in widespread flooding as it melts. Its gonna get ugly this week as the temps are going to be into low 70's or more and with a record cold Mar and April there was no "slow" melt BTW watch out as most of the rivers end up south into the Missouri system. Brian
  17. this was filmed a few days ago when the river started melting and flowing downstream into the ice locked lower portion of the Codette reservoir on Saskatchewan River. To give you perspective the leading edge ice is being pushed about 3 metres (10feet) in the air. its also way better to view at full screen so you can see detail. Its hard to imagine the power when you realize the ice is almost 3 feet thick.
  18. Nothing definte, but about 90% that it will be first week of August. Brian
  19. I hear ya,and I would love to go, but I have family that moved out to Kamloops BC and have a commitment to make a tour to visit them and other family this summer. I just don't think my budget can take all the abuse with spending all that money on the new bike. Brian
  20. thks Larry Ill be tlking to you soon about a lift stand. Brian
  21. Well, my 85 Venture died last fall, and so has forced me kicking and screaming into an update of my choice of motorcycles. I came home last night from Calgary AB with a 2003 RSV in a uhaul trailer. I got it licenced, insured and started riding it a bit after lunchtime today and spent most of the day riding. Overall I like it, especially once its rolling faster than 30kmh and the comfort is great. I am having issues figuring out the radio controller and don't like slow speed maneuvering so far, but I am sure ill get better with it. ( It has new Bridgestones on it, and I know that everyone says the "Stones handle badly at slow speeds so Ill deal with it for a while. Its only got about 44000 kms on it and it does not have a mark on it anywhere, and I love the colour. Tonight I gotta read the manual and get a handle on the audio functions, and then it will be off for a ride out of town tomorrow. Brian:dancefool:
  22. I think Reggieman and possibly Gordo were thinking about it, but I havnt talked to them for awhile. I just cant make it this year, money is spreading a bit too thin at times. Brian
