  1. Wow, Jack you are one lucky dude:yikes:, (must be all that clean living... ) So glad that you and your bike are fine. Brian
  2. When I worked for Sears selling furniture and appliances, "to the door" meant uncrated and inside the house where you wanted it. But that was a few years ago and a different country. Brian
  3. Here in Sask. We pay 5% on used bikes over a value of 3000 bucks, but I do know some provinces like Alberta where there is no sales tax on new or used. (well no sales tax on anything there really). No title fees here in Sask, but my insurance and registration with complete coverage on collision, liability, loss of work, and medical runs me about 110 a month when I am riding, and about 50 bucks yearly when parked and stored. Brian
  4. I appreciate the offer to save some bucks, but, By the time I take a couple of days off work, fly down, spend a night in hotel and look the bike over, probably pay for a tire or other issue to be fixed and then ride home, I am close to the same price. So, unless its a screaming deal, Ill shop North of the 49th. (Plus my speedometer has the right reading, kph....) Brian
  5. great news, and good luck!!! brian
  6. yes substantially more in some places, esp in Western Canada it seems. I paid 7500 for my new-to-me 2003 RSV 2 weeks ago, its spotless and has 28k miles on it. (brand new tires and battery, and showed me all the bills since bike was new.) But for me it was a good deal, it was exactly the bike and colour I wanted and I am very happy with the RSV. Brian
  7. The only really costly item that I would be concerned about would be the rear shock. Look underneath and check the shock for oil residue around the bottom of the shock. that's a sign the shock is leaking fuid and could be about to fail, the run from about 600 to 800 to replace. brian
  8. Havn the same issues with the Bridestones on the 03, although playing with pressures in the rear shock has helped out quite a bit with the feel of the bike. I don't know if I am going to be able to wait to wear out these tires, I may be swappin out when the wallet recovers. Brian
  9. ATTABOY Dan! Keep up the good work! Brian
  10. Wishing you a fantastic birthday!!! Brian

  15. congrats on the new wheels! that's a sharp looking bike. Brian
  16. I liked the CCT , I almost bought a gorgeous metallic lime green one sitting in the dealers. But just couldn't convince myself that it was 15k more than the 2003 RSV that I bought. Brian
  17. I agree, but if you hold your mouse button down and drag across the page it changes the volour enough to read it. Brian
  18. I went out to my new to me 2003 RSV today and noticed the CB antenna was missing above the lower ballast collar. I don't know what happened to it, but I am looking for a replacement and it doesn't have to be OEM style. I don't know anything about electronics so I would like it to be a screw on replacement if possible. The local dealer just informed me that he is asking 246 for the cb mast, and partshark is 154 and boats.net is 176. I was thinking for that kind of price I may be able to get a newer style solution. Thanks in advance for you ideas, Brian
  19. Mike, We had the easy part, you have the hard part of watching her hurt and helping her get better. I am Wishing you guys all the best care and luck in getting her well and getting your work issues fixed up. Thinking of you guys, Brian
  20. that was done on the 85, I am not having any issues with the 2003 but thought why sell it if the parts will fit. Brian
  21. I am going through my leftover parts for my 85 and came across an unused SKYdoc rebuild kit for my clutch on the 85. Will any of the disks work with my 2003 RSV? I would hate to sell it and then need to rebuy the same thing later. thnks, Brian
  22. I have used SImple Green for years, get the bike wet spray on the Simple Green let it sit for a couple of minutes and hose off. Its non toxic to kids or pets, and removes grease very well. It hasn't ever caused any issues with paint or chrome over the years and the label says its safe for paint. Brian
  23. that describes the noise I heard both times the shaft snapped in front of the ujoint, where the shaft exites the engine/trans case. Brian
  24. I think everyone else has covered most of the options I would just like to say welcome to the group and good luck with your new Venture. Brian
