I like these front trikes as they let you lean into a corner. They say they can convert almost anything, but ive never seen a pic of a Goldwing or a Venture as a tilting 3 wheeler. Not being able to lean would probably be the biggest reason that would keep me away from a regular trike. http://www.tiltingmotorworks.com/ Brian [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHXKuFcOF-0]Tilting Motor Works - YouTube[/ame]

I thought you already had ALL the shiny parts on that bike chromed already! Careful too much Chrome can slow ya down, it weighs more and youll wanna stop and polish instead of riding it! brian

opinions on adding chrome goodies?
friesman replied to baylensman's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I like chrome on a bike, it makes it look better and some things like a luggage rack and the driving lights actually have a purpose beside looking all shiny,.....BUT I wouldn't be putting any chrome on with thought that it will increase the resale value of your bike, because it probably wont. I think its because chrome and addons is such a personal thing it just doesn't add value from one person to the next. Brian -
On my vehicles and when I store the bike I use rust check on exposed metal and joints that wear. It just sprays on and leaves a light film over the area. In spring I clean the bike normally and most of the film comes off, but I think it still leave a bit of an invisible coating behind. On the 4 wheelers ive sprayed behind the wheels and around the wheelwells and even inserted the long stray inside the doors where moisture and condensation accumulate. Ive never had a vehicle get a rust through situation since Ive started using it. BTW I use the red can Rust inhibitor Brian http://www.rustcheck.com/

i can only repeat what others have said here, Don't put off getting a hip or knee replacement. I have had hip problems for almost 15 years, and kept putting it off, finally got bad enough that I was having issues riding my bike, and just walking.( I woke up and realized just how invasive it was when I went on a cruise a couple of years ago and passed on day trips onto the islands because of the pain.) It interfered with my job and a lot of the things I enjoyed in life, but I subconsciously started to avoid a lot of the things I liked to do because of the pain. I had the left hip replaced in the last week of Feb this year and was riding by May1 and back to work by the 2nd week of May. I cant believe how many things I missed because I didn't want to deal with pain. I am back doing everything I was years ago and got about 20,000 kms on the RSV this year with no pain! I still walk with a limp, but its not from pain, its from 15 years of learned behavior of trying to make the pain disappear, but with some more time, I am sure the limp will be gone too! Bottom line, don't wait, do it now! Brian

An elk in rut somewhere in MT decided he liked the look of a motorcycle with a couple of riders on it a few days ago. Its kinda funny to us here, but ill bet it was pretty stressful being that close to a horny elk! Brian

I just spotted this tidbit in one of the sci-fi websites I visit from time to time. It looks like Condors favourite curvy tv girl, Jeri Ryan is headed back into another sci-fi tv series with a show called Helix. Here is the link,.... Don't forget to breathe, Jack.... http://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/scifi/joins-ron-moores-helix.html Brian

Gee, Scott so sorry to hear that you have to go thru all the surgeries, its too bad they didn't get you all fixed up with one procedure. Best wishes on the surgery and I hope this is the one that gets you going again! On an upside it gives you more time at home with the Grandkid(s) Brian

Ive had the Roku 3 for about 6 months and love it, but its not really a sub for basic network stations. I do get some network news etc on it, but its more of a movie and specialty channel service. I get about 250 channels up here in Canada I think in the US you guys have over 750(?) There are several outdoors channels, special interest channels (bikeing, bikinis, and beaches etc) and I have about 6 free movie channels in my favourites. Most of the channels have more channels inside, eg the MAN Channel has streaming biking tours, biking info, tattoos, bike building, and so on... Most of the content is streaming and not live, but it is added to all the time and constantly changing as it is an opensource device and anyone can create their own channel.....and because of that fact there is some useless crap on there too, but Roku gives you a favourites section to move the channels you like into so you don't have to sort thru the crap more than once. I like it a lot, but I still need my local channels for news and local sports. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMlYn08CrHs]Roku 3 Review - YouTube[/ame] Brian

tire self destructed after 2 months and 7K Km
friesman replied to Black wing's topic in Watering Hole
wow, youre lucky you caught it before you had a crash... I am curious what the date code is on your Elite 2 , as I thought they were discontinued a few years ago. If its more than 6 years old it might explain the trouble youre having. Brian -
looks great, I love all the bling! better hide all that chrome from Angel Brian

ARE THEY ALL THE SAME? And the groan...
friesman replied to Condor's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have the Harley pump and it works great with no bleed off when removing the fitting, and it seem like a failry well made piece of equipment for the 50 bucks I paid. My rear shock has groaned on my 03 every cool or cold morning since I bought it in early May, but is fine on the warm mornings. Iv put about 18000 kms on the bike this year and was kinda thinking I might need a shock, but so far so good. I read on the other website that a guy took the shock out and he used the air tube (removed Shrader valve) to syringe in some Marvel mystery fluid into it to help lubricate the seals internally. I don't know if it helped extend the life of his shock, but it was indicated that it stopped the groaning. But it should be noted that he also cleaned and lubricated all of the connections on the shock mounts when he had it out. -
Hmmm,.... are you working on a G1 or G2 bike??? I am confused... Brian
