  1. I was thinking that too,....,
  2. since we have switched to the passes with an expiry date our "blue spots" dont get used as often, it seems we used to have a system that just kept handing out passes and people kept using them. Now, if you are having surgery the doc will issue one to you for a 3 month period or whatever he thinks you will need. there are also permanent tags availble but require some documentation to get. Its too bad that we have to resort to this type of system to limit things, but its like everything else, if someone can take advantage of a loophole they will. Brian
  3. there are a few different types of yellow bulbs available and this is one. Theu=y also make one a shade lighter and I really like it as it has just a hint of yellow and really makes your bike or car get noticed. I find the hint of yellow really seems to help contrast the objects infront of me, but according to other people it doesnt help at all. i was going to put these in the passing lights when i get them installed on the RSV. BTW, Anyone know of a good deal on a passing light bar? 5. Thanks for the Birthday wishes everyone! (I think......lol) Love ya all, Brian
  6. Jack, I care about you and a lot of members on this site, and I do agree with your idea of support. We should support our local members first. if we dont, they wont do what they do best, and that is help the rest of us that need guys like you to keep these scoots running like they should and keep improving the the bikes performance. Thanks for what you member vendors do for us we do appreciate all your work, and I will always check the member vendor area first before buyinganywhere else. Brian
  7. I apologize, I dont even know what I did there to get your name involved... Brian
  8. I hate to hafta be the one to tell ya, BUT, Toronto was the laughingstock of Canada LLLOOOONNg before that:yikes:.....and the way Rob Ford is going it isnt going to end anytime soon...... Brian
  9. Its a fantastic video, Ive posted it here before and loved it. The guy that flew the plane and shot the vid built the plane while living here in Regina. When he retired he moved back to his home on the island. Its a great vid that shows the marvelous sights your area of the world has to offer! thanks for posting it, I love it. Brian
  10. If you cant lift it, ride the back tire onto a piece of 2x8 board to get the bike just that little bit extra high and it will be easy to get it onto the stand. Brian
  11. I have had the same one few times and have always deleted it. Anyone I deal with already has my info and wouldn't ask for it in an email. Brian
  12. hmmm if you sit on it, the bike should tilt back on the back tire and when you drop the clutch you should be able to drive off the stand,...shouldnt you? I did it a few times on my 85 with the same setup. Brian
  13. I think a fair amount of the lack of traffic could be attributed to the number of Venture related Facebook sites as well. I think I counted 4 or 5 and I see a lot of the same names I see here on most of those, so if you spread a little bit of time around at each one we notice it here. Brian
  14. Wow, it hurts to read this, I am hoping and wishing that the eyesight in the latest eye clears up soon, with few issues, and no pain. Brian
  15. We did a meet and greet a couple of years ago in Herbert SK to visit Pete (tessa2c) after his stroke. We had about 10 bikes out and thanks to Pete and his wife Hazel we all had a great time. Pete asked if we could do one again this year and he offered his place again about 100 yards off the TransCanada highway as a location, but I felt badly that my summer was just too busy and was over before we could get something organized. I am actively involved in Ride for Sight in Elbow SK (relatively central in SK, thats almost as big as Texas), maybe we can tie something in with RFS during the 3rd weekend of June. Brian
  16. We use Google sketchup for designing basic drawings and designs. Its free for download and is designed for basic to intermediate drawings. [ame=http://download.cnet.com/SketchUp/3000-6677_4-10257337.html]SketchUp - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com[/ame]
  17. I like these front trikes as they let you lean into a corner. They say they can convert almost anything, but ive never seen a pic of a Goldwing or a Venture as a tilting 3 wheeler. Not being able to lean would probably be the biggest reason that would keep me away from a regular trike. http://www.tiltingmotorworks.com/ Brian [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHXKuFcOF-0]Tilting Motor Works - YouTube[/ame]
  18. Better eat more beef and pork then,..... skip the fish......mabbe Clorets? Brian
  19. Try this link it seems to have a few contacts inside the gallery area. I go there sometimes for the manuals and service info http://www.yamahaventure.nl/en/history.html
  20. the simple fix for that is just drive normally and make them catch up with you , then youre first in line at the ice cream shop. Brian
  21. Whats that, you say? You want to buy Tom a new Harley because you think he is spending too much time around all these Venture guys that are a bad influence? Brian:rotfl:
  22. I like chrome on a bike, it makes it look better and some things like a luggage rack and the driving lights actually have a purpose beside looking all shiny,.....BUT I wouldn't be putting any chrome on with thought that it will increase the resale value of your bike, because it probably wont. I think its because chrome and addons is such a personal thing it just doesn't add value from one person to the next. Brian
  23. On my vehicles and when I store the bike I use rust check on exposed metal and joints that wear. It just sprays on and leaves a light film over the area. In spring I clean the bike normally and most of the film comes off, but I think it still leave a bit of an invisible coating behind. On the 4 wheelers ive sprayed behind the wheels and around the wheelwells and even inserted the long stray inside the doors where moisture and condensation accumulate. Ive never had a vehicle get a rust through situation since Ive started using it. BTW I use the red can Rust inhibitor Brian http://www.rustcheck.com/
  24. i can only repeat what others have said here, Don't put off getting a hip or knee replacement. I have had hip problems for almost 15 years, and kept putting it off, finally got bad enough that I was having issues riding my bike, and just walking.( I woke up and realized just how invasive it was when I went on a cruise a couple of years ago and passed on day trips onto the islands because of the pain.) It interfered with my job and a lot of the things I enjoyed in life, but I subconsciously started to avoid a lot of the things I liked to do because of the pain. I had the left hip replaced in the last week of Feb this year and was riding by May1 and back to work by the 2nd week of May. I cant believe how many things I missed because I didn't want to deal with pain. I am back doing everything I was years ago and got about 20,000 kms on the RSV this year with no pain! I still walk with a limp, but its not from pain, its from 15 years of learned behavior of trying to make the pain disappear, but with some more time, I am sure the limp will be gone too! Bottom line, don't wait, do it now! Brian
  25. it seems they don't want western Canada to view it either....
