  1. To use someone else's phrase......." THAT"S GGGGGGRRRREEEEAAAAATTTT"!!!!! Brian
  2. that sounds kinda like mine did before the main output shaft on my 85 went. I had a whine that would come and go and i couldnt track down. finally found it when my output gear went inside the gear box. the guys here think that the driveshaft snapped at the ujoint and was held together by the nut, and i couldnt find it. it set up a vibration that took out the gears eventually. Brian heres a couple of pics
  3. Thanks Johanne, that is fantastic news that he is recovering so well and quickly, and its great news also that you also can still laugh with (and at) your dad. If he gets into a Regina hospital please let me know as I would like to go up and say hi when he is up to it. (Also if you guys need a place to stay if he gets to town, youre welcome at my place.) Still my thoughts and best wishes are being sent your way and Hope your dad will be at home soon, thinking of his next project to work on. Brian
  4. thats a good idea and a good list to get people going on what to do to help themselves. Sometimes lists like that get too detail, and I see people's eyes glaze over and I know its not going to help, but this list looks straight and to the point enough to be helpful Brian
  5. No problems here, Ive got them both on my machine at home, running XP. Office 2003 will lock up when trying to use Outlook2003 on Vista Brian
  6. Hey Giga, no one hates you,,,,(except the owner of this thread...lol!) Actually I am in a full MS operation and we havnt upgraded to anything newer than Office2003 either and it doesnt look like we are going to. We have an agreement with google apps and docs to host all of our 22000 students so it takes a big load off our need for storage downtown, and we are seriously looking at open office and already have it running on a couple hundred test machines. Brian Ps just replaced my first mac server yesterday with an HP w2k3 only 15 more to go to get all them mac OSX servers gone....lol
  7. We have started offering google docs as an option to people in the School system I work for. It gives you word processing, spreadsheets and more and it stores them off your machine (if you like) so you can get at them anywhere. Also its all backed up on googles servers (if you want)so if your machine craps out you dont have to worry as its all on a server. You will have to sign up for a free google account though, to get at this free bunch of apps. http://www.google.com/google-d-s/intl/en/tour1.html Brian
  8. AAwww! does that mean we gotta clean up the floor again...? Brian
  9. I got my clearview in the middle of August and when I installed it I noticed the center vent was crooked. I sent an email off to Craig at Clearview and he suggested I send pics just to show what it looked like. its taken me some time to get my stuff back together after vacation but i finally sent the pics down to Clearview and got notice today from Craig that they will replace my windshield and pay all shipping costs both ways. I think that is good service if it all goes as plannned. I will send mine away tomorrow. Here are a couple of pics Brian
  10. i would check with Condor, last i heard he was swapping out a mkII drive out of a 93 with a Vmax final drive unit for fun. So if he has done that he may have a spare mkII kicking around. Brian

  12. heheh Yeah , sometimes I work on computers, sometimes I daydream,.... ya caught me on the wrong sometime....hehehe Actaully we dont change times here we are on daylight saving time year round, so we are one hour diff to EST during winter and 2 hours diff during summer . I can never keep the difference straight. Brian
  13. ah thought there was only a one hour diff , DOH!!!
  14. it appears there is no royal star listed when I look at the website under 2009 models http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/products/modeloverview/ls/2009/model_overview.aspx
  15. Yeah I saw that... But the company website says to contact them and they will work with you for specific applications. Or I thought one of the metal geniuses in here might have had a look at it and made it fit. Brian
  16. thats great that BoB is making progress and starting to turn the corner. It sounds like Bob is in great hands and being looked after and getting better all the time. Take care of yourself and each other, we are thinking of you, anything you need please ask and we will help in any way we can. Brian
  17. I found this while surfing around today and I got to wondering if anyone around here had tried this air suspension out on their scoot? Its expensive but if it works ok, it might be a good fix for someone. http://www.streetboutiquecustoms.com/yamaha.htm Brian
  18. Hi Rick I have a saddelmens seat with a backrest on my 85 1st gen that is uncomfortable as the seat seems very flat and tall.(I cannot sit flat footed at an intersection) I am a big guy 6ft 300lbs and I find the seat pushes my boys right up onto my tank cover as the seat doesnt seem to be deep enough from the front to the passenger uplift area which is quite a lot more vertically straight up not tapered like the Oem seat. To be honest it feels like my butt just doesnt fit into the drivers seat area, and that I am pushing the ridge back trying to keep off the tank cover. Let me know if you can do anything to help, the only thing i like about the seat is the removable backrest.... Or would I be better off just getting the OEM seat reupholstered and recovered? Brian
  19. Thks for the update Johanne, we all appreciate knowing how Bob is doing. I am so glad it looks like things are starting to turn a corner, my thoughts are with Bob and all of your family and hoping for things to go your way from here on. Brian

  23. I just happened to see this post in a local classified ad. Its for a motorcycle tent trailer, doesnt look too bad, if anyone is interested, let me know I can go look at it for you. http://www.usedregina.com/classified-ad/6854873 Brian
  24. Hey Rocket, I hope you had a great ride home and didnt get too cold or wet. Glad you stopped in for the visit. Next time we will have to get you out for a beer or two and actually feed you something besides taco chips..lol. Dont let them work you too hard! Brian
  25. Thanks so much for the update, we are thinking positive thoughts and sending it all your way. If they transfer Bob to Regina and you need a place to stay , you are welcome to stay at my place as long as it takes to get Bob back to health. That travelling back and forth can really tire a person out when they already are under stress. I am glad SGI is looking after you, but kinda wondering whats up with Blue Cross, maybe they only start coverage after the SGI coverage tops out? Best Wishes to Bob and your whole family, Brian
