I filled the powdered coffe creamer container with Eno and then sat back and watched the expressions when everyones coffe foamed over at coffee time. Its not elegant but its worth a laugh. Brian

Actually we are so short of workers here that the province and 2 major cities here have polled together to set up a large presence in Toronto for the next few days in hopes of attracting some workers out here. Our economy is still growing and had a surplus in the provincial budget last month. Stats Canada was still projecting up to 2 % growth this year after over 6% last year. If you need more info drop me a message and Ill try to help out where I can. Heres a news article about it http://www.newstalk980.com/story/20090331/14244 Brian

I bought just the light bar to mount on top of my 85 G1's trunk and it looks to be of fairly good quality, but a bit lightly made. I had it painted to match my trunk but dont have it all assembled yet so I cant show you any pictures. For about 35 bucks I thought it was worth it. http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?cat_id=1&menu=DMY%20Trunk%20Series&product_id=20&s=prod.php Brian

I always keep my tires on the cage scrubbed and with a coat of wet black, or amourall and would love to have my scoot tires looking that good too. BUt, ive looked at every product on the shelf at Canadian tire looking for something to treat my bike tires, (and I think there must be a hundred of them),,,and every one says not for use on motorcycle tires, so I figure they must know what theyre talking about and I just deal with the clean, but dull tires. If it was only one company i would think its someone just being overcautious, but when every company says it, I will listen. Brian

hmmm i have the Venture toolkit with my 85 G1 with the wrenches screwdrivers, and sparkplug wrench, but no bandaids:think: and no dipstick:think:. Ive never heard of a dipstick actually. There is no real specific spot to put the leather pouch that I am aware of, mine just rides in the left side bag. Brian I am guessing a previous owner kept yours, and Ive never seen a dipstick in mine.

Here is the one Ive use, i like it as the straps behind adjust it how you want, you dont have any extra bulk in the helmet, and the front nose piece directs all your breath away from you so you dont get wet against your skin and you usually dont fog. ( nothing will ever keep you 100% fog free in cold weather though). I like the fact this is a vinyl covering so the wind and moisture doesnt go thru.....and.....its cheap!! But for this price be prepared to replace one a year as the vinyl cracks in cold when it gets old. http://www.imsplus.com/gi-issue-extreme-cold-weather-face-mask-green-vinyl.html Brian

The neoprene face masks work great, ive never used them while riding my bike but riding my yamaha sled. I have used a few over the years and there is some that have a extra piece sewn on around your nose and mouth to direct your breath away from your glasses and facemask that I would recommend you look for. Sorry I dont have a brand name or a website. Brian

Mufflers
friesman replied to Bill Feehan's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I know Condor just finished a group buy from these guys for G1 venture mufflers, but he did have some issues dealing with them so be a bit careful if you deal with them. It took him quite a while to complete the transaction for a myriad of what seemed to be fabricated excuses. BUT, for what its worth, they seem to be the only game in town left making exhausts for our scoots. you will have to send a message about making the mufflers as the parts arent listed on the website. http://www.macperformance.com/contact.cfm You could also contact Jardines and see if they could make mufflers up for you as they used to build good quality stuff for our bikes and just quit listing our bikes. Maybe it would be worth your while to ask . Brian -

Jardines makes a great set of mufflers, but when I was at their website today the G1 Ventures are no longer listed. They may do a special order, but It doesnt look good. Brian -
Hmmm Ship your work stuff and see if you can rent a CA members trailer for your time there and rent a bike in CA, that would be cool!! Brian

I Have an 85 G1 and have purchased a hitch from ebay for what I thought was a reasonable price. BUT its only reasonable if it fits. I dont want to pull a trailer with it, but i do want to add a cooler rack from Rivco. Can someone have a look and tell if this will work or not as I dont have the rear bumper light bar on my bike. I think I may have to add a couple of stabilizing bars from the hitch up to the frame of the bike behind the side bags. Hers the link http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270324374389 Thanks in advance for the input! Brian oops!!! sorry the link doesnt work i will hafta take a new pic and repost!

I love my HJC with the flip down internal sun visor. I think its an FS10 Brian -
Hi Merv When I blew the trans out of my 85, Condor and several others suggested that the 1300 swap would prbably a better way to go as it didnt need the trans fixed for the 2nd gear issue. It was supposed to be a straight bolt in as far as I remember, but I am sure more will chime in to confirm or correct. Brian
