  1. If time is a concern i would go to Walmart and buy a roll of their amber tape desgned for temporary fixes for signal lights. And you maybe be able to use packing tape to secure the windshield depending on how bad the crack is. I might run some heavy duty plastic cement into the cracks on windshield and then tape over top until you can find a new windshield. Be careful though, you dont want to have pieces of the windshield coming back at you at hiway speed. Brian
  2. I agree with saddlebum!!!! The trouble would be proving that it was his fault..... Brian
  3. There is an issue with the wires getting corroded in the cap of the coil. maybe ensure the wires are tight and that the wires are connected and clean. If the wires are old try some new ones, they arent that expensive, especially compared to trying to find a TCI. Brian
  4. wow this bike has the fatboy tires on front and rear. I am having trouble seeing how you would even ride this, but some are saying with the bigger footprint on the road it will handle better. http://www.wired.com/magazine/2010/08/pl_motor_jafm/ Whaddya think? pretty different huh? Brian
  5. I bought mine from the Walmart store, I found that they have different assortments online or in the store. Its a good reasont to go for a ride! Brian
  6. These arent mag or chrome wheels but they may dress up the wheels you already have. http://www.hubcaphaven.com/golf_car_hubcaps_8.htm Brian

  10. yeah, thats how I see it. Although i have gotten lucky and taken the cover off a drive and gave it a spin by hand to start and then the motor was powerful enough then to keep it running until i got my info off. I wouldnt try this with anything valuable though, it was just a try-it and see-if-it-can be done thing with non critical info. Check around,i seem to remember a place here in Canada that will wont charge you unless they get your info off the drive, BUT they aint cheap when they get it. Brian Brian

  15. Yeah, i would hate to see you cook something electronic just beacuse you dont have a 5 dollar inline fuse in. I wouldnt wait until i got home, it could fry and leave you stranded. brian
  16. well, right away here, lets get you some manuals....follow this link and you can download the manual for your bike here. I would also burn it to Cd so you can leave it in the bike for when you travel or go to a shop. http://labs.trunkful.com/vrmanuals/index.cfm I cant remember the layout on my dash so I will look it up and repost here when i find it. Brian
  17. I got an email from Rick and Nina late last week cancelling the meetup in Biggar Sk that we were going to do last week. They were trying to do the camping thing but the weather over most of Western Canada and especially over the prairies here has been almost record cold and we set a record for rainfall for September by the 5th of the month. So Rick and Nina decided to rent a car when they got to Calgary and continue the rest of the trip to visit Ninas mom. They were headed back to Calgary Sunday and back on the bike hoping for warmer weather to continue there camping trip back home over the next couple of days. Dont worry, i am sure youll hear from Rick soon......lol.....we ALWAYS do!!! Brian
  18. I resemble that post........but I am lucky that i didnt have the knowledge to strip the bike down like you did......whew! Brian:confused24:
  19. It looks great, but they dont show the trunk or tops of the side bags. Most of the 85s ive seen have the clear coat peeling. But it looks like it would be a nice ride for anyone if it runs as good as it looks. I didnt see the VIN to check and see if it was made after the 2nd gear issue was fixed. The ad says engine size 1300cc,,,,need to see the side of the engine case to see if someone swapped out thr engine or if the dealer doesnt know his stuff. Brian
  20. Does that version like long rides on the bike with an angry boyfriend at home too? Brian:rotfl:
  21. That looks great! so when are ya coming up to Western Canada to do mine? Brian
  22. Jack, I would hafta say youre in the best part. Brian
