yea it should be fixable, just call a couple of companies and get a quote to keep them honest. make sure they put a filter/drier on it and pull a good vacuum on it before they charge it up. i just finished replacing 5- 5ton gas package units that thieves hit and stole all the copper out of them. it's getting bad around birmingham, al these days, about everyday they hit churches and commerical building. we did one hose in a neighbor that they took all the water pipes, copper wiring and a/c system out while owner was awayon business trip. welding shop are building steel cages to put around them so they cann't get to them.

you need to drill a small hole in the cap 9 there is a small space in between the cap and screw so if you take it slow you will have time to stop before it hits the screw. then take a small sharp tip screw and putting some pressure on it twist it into the hole till it takes hold. take a pair of plyers and pull out on it and the plug should come out. if not you may want to spray some wd40 into the hole and let it set and try again. ytou can also read up on it at this website- the airbox mod- http://forums.delphiforums.com/royalstar/start hope this helps out. you maybe near a member that can help you out.

tupelo is near the 260 mark, 320 will put you near the tri-cites( tuscumbia, sheffield and florence) area which has some good motel and eats where hwy 72 and 43 meet. also helen keller birth place is there and the alabama music hall of fame has a lot of things to see. if you want to eat lunch around the shiloh, tn battleground there's hagy's fish motel on the tn river just pass the park entrance, a nice little side trip, just take hwy 25 in ms and when you leave shiloh just hit hwy 64 and run right back to the trace. there is some construction on the trace from waterloo, al just pass collinwood, tn. the trip to hagy's will get you past all that. when you get to natchez, ms make sure to pick up a trace map that shows all the places to see, it'll help you along the way to keep up with where you are. the ms crafts center is a great place to see if you have time, they have artist there most time doing differant craft work and demos. hope you have a great time and enjoy the trace.

http://forums.delphiforums.com/royalstar/messages check-out this forum for doing a big-foot mod to your bike and add a dyna-tech 3000 ign box and it'll add a good bit of zip to your bike. also with these bikes you have to whine out the gears and get into the higher rpm to really get the power out of the motor. you have a rev=limiter to keep from doing any damage to motor. the dyna-tech ign box raises the rev-limiter to a higher limit so you get more into the power band. if you live near any of the royal riders they may come over to help.

ok, you are the one screwing the dealer!!!by paying cash you have cheated him out of his commision on getting you financed. you want what your car is worth to another person but not to the dealer. you should go back and take their offer and let them finance it for you for 6 yrs.LOL!!! i use to buy and sell cars personally just to make a few $s extra and thats about all you can make, i mostly enjoyed fixing them up. like others has said just try looking around for a better deal, you'd probally be better off selling your's and buy with all cash. hope you find a good deal.

REMBEMBER WHEN!! 25 yrs ago i was in my prime, riding and racing around on my bike with my gal on back hugged up on my back felling like a true manly man. switch to today, here i'm riding down the road following susan on her bike leading the way, her sis next and then her girl friend ahead of me. WHAT WRONG WITH THIS PIC!! I dowm shift a couple of gears and away i go!!! after they diappeared in my rear view, i eased back into the seat and enjoyed the moment. if you told me 25 years ago that this would happen, i would have laughed my azzz off. times have changed a lot and i guess i have too. it's nice to have a gal that enjoys riding as much as you do and to share the thrill of burning up the road.. to see susan getting on her sis about riding safe and staying with the group and not chasing after me. bonnie has riden in the past and is doing great on susan's old 1100. hoping she can get where she can make a long ride to some event soon.

the only thing you may need to watchout for is the fins hitting the saddlebags, where the fins comes up off the main body of the mufflers. i put samson fishtails on my 01 standard, with venture hard bags and they hit, so i put 4 thick washers and a longer mounting bolt to move them down to miss. i would make sure they (company) has a good return policy.

sherry, glad to hear from ya'll again! hope things keep getting better as days go by. glad the kids are doing things to remember their dad. i lost my dad to a truck wreck in 67, as i get old, i find myself thinking about the times we had growing up. there was 8 of us kids, i only had 2, and i don't know how my dad survived all the pain and suffering we put him thru. but there was a lot of fun times, my dad took all of us, sometime together or one on one hunting and fishing and other things. you are right about documenting as much as you can of family events, they help out greatly. stand strong as we all are here for you as you need!! you may suggest to your lawer to look into the "ride like a pro" dvd for imfo on avoiding accident to see if he can use it for support of tom's actions in the wreck, that way there woun't be any suprises. keep up you faith, as you deal with all that faces you and i know you will do ok, don and susan. -
you can goto: www.nps.gov/natt and read about it.

Possible Valve Problems
tazmocycle replied to dmoff1698's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
have you done a seafoam or techron flush on your bike? fill up your tank with gas and a can of seafoam or techron, take it out and run the snot out of it for the full tank. after that change the oil, check your plugs and then see how it run after that. the 2nd gen motors are bad about carboning up if you don't run it a little hard evrery once in a while. also run couple of ozs of seafom or techron about every 2 or 3 tanks to keep it clean. -
Frame Cracked Under Seat
tazmocycle replied to DMooch's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
i have done a lot of welding of many differant materials, and it looks like this is a stress break. this is seen a lot in cast welding, where the parts being welded is preheated, welded and then slow colded. if the parts are welded without being preheated, the stress caused by the weld will pull the welded materal just below the weld joint. this weld could have been made too hot causing it to be brittle and after cooling down caused it to break.. i would take it to yamaha dealer and let them look at it, that way it will be noted by them and if others are found to be breaking at this point it you may get a refund for your repair costs. i think it would be a good idea for as many members check this out closely to seeif this is just a fluke! any good welding shop should beableto fix ths break and maybe add a t-shaped brace to add strength to it. -
what part of tn are you in? i have an extra set of wheels, but don't want to sell, but would loan it to you till you resolve the lost tire. i'm about 25 miles south of b'ham, al.

i have a 01 standard royal star, which has single springs in it. about 8k i opened the air box, rejetted and put on a dk3 ing box set at 7.000 rpm. i have ran it almost all the 60,000 miles to date wide open. i have never heard or felt the motor bog or studder while ridinf it. many has told me i would float a valve or wreck the motor if i did this. HOW MANY ROYALS OR VENTURES HAVE YY'LL HEARD OF DOING THIS??? i have heard of none of the many thousands i know of. i have heard of stuck valves or broken cams caused by chunks of carbon breaking loose. the dk3 will only go to 8,000 rpm, still way under what we know the v-max will do
