Short Exhaust for 1996 Royal Star
tazmocycle replied to cableguy's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mj7Oc7NuNQ]YouTube - Royal Star com escape Giba[/ame] is this what you want? don't know where you can find them! there's not much available for the 96-01 standard royal stars. http://forums.delphiforums.com/royalstar/start you can also check on this forum, it's for those yrs of royal stars. good luck with your search, don. -
you can go to youtube.com and put in venture, royal star or tazmocycle and it will pull up video clips of differant bike and mufflers. tazmocycle is my bike with sampson fishtails and bubs header pipes. i think they sound good, the kromewerks sounds a lot like mine, just a little deeper sound. you can also checkout this site, it's more for the 96-01 standard royal stars; http://forums.delphiforums.com/royalstar/start most of the stock mufflers are solid-welded mufflers and you cann't pull out the baffles.

Need stock mufflers
tazmocycle replied to stevel's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
does yours have the 4x2 and the y-pipes is made on the muffler? if you cann't find the ones for it, you can cut off the mufflers and put back on any venture or '05-up tourdeluxe. some are also putting on harley mufflers on theirs. they are louder than stock. there's a full set of venture pipes and mufflers on e-bay for around $100, they will fit your too and the inside diameter is larger than yours. they will bolt right on to yours. http://forums.delphiforums.com/royalstar/start checkout this site, it's for the 96-01 standard royal star, lot of great guys on there too. -

some have trouble getting the clutch bled right. you can go to the auto parts store and buy the bleeder kit that has a hand pump, bottle and hoses to bleed the clutch and brake a lot easier. you hook the pump on the bleeder and open it, then you start pumping, as the level in the resovior goes down you add new fluid till you get new fluid at the bleeder. if you hand bleed it, you may have to let it set overnight so the air works out. good luck on doing it.

there are rubber plugs that has antifreeze behind it. if it's weeping antifreeze you can tape or silicone a dime on the faux fin and it will push the plug in enough to seal it off. i think the screw thread is ti remove it from the block. you can get new plugs if you can find them, but you will need to drain the antifreeze and refill.

1996 RS dependability
tazmocycle replied to dukhunter322's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
i have a 96, 97 and an '01royal star. 96 was wrecked when i got it, going to put the motor on my 01 soon. 97( over 75,00 miles) was a close friend's that passed away i bought it from the guy he sold it to and he said it had a blown head gasket?? they had already tore it down some and i couldn't check it out. going to put my 01 motor in it and do a complete re-paint and upgrade on my 01. my 01 is 8 yrs old and has 66,000 miles on it and i've had no big problems with it/. best bike i have ever owned and rode. you can also check out this web site: http://forums.delphiforums.com/royalstar/start it was started several years ago, for guys that owned the '96-'01 royal stars. lot of good guys on there too and great imfo on them. -
that is a corbin/yamaha seat, it's made for yamaha by corbin and was sold thru the dealers only. corbin made other styles of seats for the royal stars, but has their name on them.

Question about Avon Venoms rubbin?
tazmocycle replied to CMIKE's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
i have ran a 180 vemonous on the back of my royal star standard and it rubbed a little bit till i add a few #s of air over recommended psi's. i ran 170's also on my 01 venture and they rubbed slightly, avon and metzler's. i haven't heard of any stock size avon's rubbing. on the v-max they put the outside washer on the inside to keep the wider tire from rubbing. some also cut the indented section of the driveshaft cover and reweld it a little closer in to do the same thing. i won't run any other tire but avons, best ride and handling of all to me!! but to each his own. good luck with your choice.- 10 replies

Head gasket leak '99 RSV
tazmocycle replied to dfitzbiz's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
how many miles and how long have you had it. there was some ventures that had loose head bolts from factory. i agree with you to try and re-tourqe the head bolts first before pulling motor. good luck!! -
as stated before, you don't need to be getting on it in 5th, DOWNSHIFT, DOWNSHIFT, DOWNSHIFT TO MOVE ON DOWN THE ROAD!. I RAN MY VENTURE THRU THE 1/8 MILE AND WAS CLOCKED AT 78MPH@8.7 SEC. MY FRIEND'S TD'S WAS RUNNING AT THE SAME SPEED. both bikes had dyna tech 3000 ign. box, mine had stock mufflers and his had kromeworks mufflers. you need to wind it out till you hit the rev-limiter to see where it's at and then shift just before.

jimbob, checkout brasstown ball, great ride and overlook. also helen is a germantown style with a few good restaurants. we stayed at vogel state park just below blairsville, nice lodging in the cabins and camping too. nice ride over to dillard and eat at dillard house restaurant, great food. about any road in the area is great to ride. hwy 64 along the ocoee river is good ride and you can stop and whitewater raft or dip your feet in the water.

you may wanto to see chaternooga, several area to visit. they should have a website to visit and get imfo. you may want to tour out hwy 64 from cleveland and ride along the river over into Nc and visit tail of the dragon and cherahola parkway. if you going up around knoxville and into townsend and piegon forge area has some good roads to ride. asheville Nc has the blue ridge parkridge is a great ride north or south. there's several members aorund in the area, that probly will chime-in on it.

'96-'01 royal star tour classic I had 4x4 exhaust, short leather bags and all touring package( windshield, running lites, sissy bar and passenger floorboards). tour classic II had 4x2 exhaust, soft slang leather bags and touring package. tour deluxe had 4x2 exhaust, hard double end latched bags and touring package. in 2005 yamaha brought back the tour deluxe on the same basic bike of the venture, everyone that i see are set up with differant combos of equiptment, but the tour deluxe should have all the touring acessories on it to be a "TOUR DELUXE" IMHO! THERE'S BEEN DIFFERANT DEALER THAT SET UP EACH BIKE AS THEY SEE FIT, SO YOU GET A LOT OF DIFFERANT VERSIONS OF ALL OF THEM OUT THERE!

ok my time!! susan and i have traveled a lot and always look for mom and pop places to eat. we hate to get bad food, service and charged a huge price for slop! but at the same time we have found many great places to eat in our opinions, but you may not agree with our tastes. when we go to an area we haven't visited before, it's hard to find good places to eat. we love guy's show, because he likes a lot of outlandis dishes and foods. susan says i'll eat anything that don't eat me first. i have friends from all over the world and enjoy the differant combinations of spices that they uses in their diferant cultures. my mother taught all of us kids( 4 boys &4 girls) to cook and can foods as we lived on a sharecrop farm and you eat what you have at the moment. my oldest brother was a exc. chef at the sands in las vegas, nv for 15 yrs and my next oldest brother had to teach his wife to cook when they got married. one of the best things that we enjoy is eating at all the rallies and m&es on this forum. we will be glad to put a few good places on the list.

Carbs leaking 96 RSTC
tazmocycle replied to WAC1972's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
maybe the previous owner opened the drain screws and they corrouded up and the seafoam clean out the gunk. start off working the screw back and forth and work it in a little at a time, that way if there's some crud in there it'll push it out. you may wind up taking the carbs down and do a good cleaning to them. there's several guys that has changed their carbs over to the 32's off the venture and you maybe able to get a good set of carbs off one of them. keep us informed as what's happening to it. there's a forum on delphi that deals with the 96-2001 royals if you want to check it out. http://forums.delphiforums.com/royalstar/messages -
i've had 7 yamahas and never had to add oil to any of them between changes. they may use a little but has never been enough to need to add any.
