  1. So if the spring isn't there, then the filter could be pushed away from the block and there would be no filtration of the oil? I didn't know there was supposed to be a spring in there until I saw this post. I guess I'd better find one for my 83.
  2. Link on post 3 is a dead link unfortunatly
  3. On an 83 venture, the bar that runs from the front to rear of the frame, low across the motor, one on each side. Are these structural parts or just to hold fairing parts in place. My bike doesn't have the fairings any longer and if not needed structurally I'd like to remove them. The fairings were just too boogered up to save. I plan on running this without the fairings. Thanks in advance
  4. I picked up an 83 venture that sat for at least a year since it last ran. I got it to start but it ran like crap. My question in when the engine is running should the slides flutter or open smoothly. I never really looked with the other Yamaha's I've had. (XJ550, XS1100, XS650). I did check and they seem to move freely, if not a little slow. When the weather cooperates I'm going to pull the slides, inspect and clean them. 1983 Yamaha Venture 73k Plastics are really boogered up so it'll be nekid when I'm done
  5. So I know this is an older thread, but the etsy link is dead. Are you still selling this kit? would yu consider a personal use license for the STL file? (I have a 3d printer)
