Hi Well since last yr when I would start my 83 VR I got a loud rattle from down under the bike. So today I took off the exhaust collector. I think it came off in a fare amount of time about 30 mins, So I made 3 cuts and folded the flap open. took out the screen that was loose. Now hears where Im not sure about something. On the inside there is a layer of screen that is tight to the skin or the top of the collector. It dosent feel or look loose can I leave it and weld the collector back up? Or should I try to get it all out? Also should I drill holes in the corners that I cut to stop any cracking before I weld? Thanks Bull463:fingers-crossed-emo

Hi First off have a good time with it. I just stepped down after 15 yrs. I found it to be rewarding and fun most of the time untill I have to deal with the town and village at budget time. Bull463

Hi All Well Ive been one week without a smoke. This is not a easy thing for me be I do feel better. But I think the morinings are the worst my coffee just goes with a smoke. Hope I can keep this up the extra cash is great. Now Christy has me going to the gym now. Bull463

I saw a couple that had bags mounted to the tank so the dog could have its head out . I cant rember what the site is for it. They were from NJ and rode to upstate NY. -

Hi All I have a frend that I help out from time to time oled guy. Mostly he calls when his roof needs shoveling from snow. Well he called last night so this morning I went over. My frend is in the driveway clearing snow with a walk behind snowblower. No big deal Ive seen him do this before. I start to clear his roof now he is pulling the snow off the roof with a roof rake. You may wounder where Im going going with this story by now. Well we get the roof done and start to chat. He has just had his 99th birthday! He lives alone drives cuts his own grass clears most of hi own snow and seems to get around just fine. I can only hope I see 99 much less do all the things he does. Bull463

Hi All Hope your your holiday is going well. Myself and christy had to work on christmas ( life in emegency services) so we are doing christmas today. We are trying to get my youngest daughters boy frend up from ga. Funny they get a inch of snow and go crazy at the airport. He is on his way just later than expected. Hi All I would just like to extend a happy holiday wish to all of the members of this fine family. One does not have to look very far to see the how great the members are that belong to this group. These are just a few of the fine things that happens on this site. Helping members with fixing there bikes, giving good deals on parts and bkes, helping other members to bring them to the states so they can be with us, giving members a place to stay on the road, Putting up with 250 bikes on there yard for the weekend, I could go on but I guess it comes down to we are just a great family. Hi Last time I had my 83 apart I thought there was a small spring for the choke linkage. Of course it was buried in the linkage but if you took the carbs apart its easy to miss. Bull463 -
