Man, tire companies must be making allot of 2nds:think:

Go here buy it, you'll love it. http://www.carbtune.co.uk/c.com/carbdtls.html It comes with adapters, but ya don't need them for the RSV. but you can use them to impress your buddies with Wings. It's around $100.

13 is about where I had it set. Maybe I need to add the 2" I cut off the windshield back on. Mic-Mutes look interesting but they are kind of pricey. Guess I was hoping for a feature on the audio control that I haven't found yet:think:

Thanks to Edsets and Don for getting us a great deal. When we got the 04 earlier this year it came with two Tour Com helmets with J&M's installed. We tried them, Wrong size, not impressed with helmet, not impressed with sound quality. Installed the new Edsets in our Shoei RJ helmets last week, (the install was easy and looks great) and tried them out yesterday, awesome! One quirk that our 2nd gen audio systems seem to have is the open intercom. I had always assumed that the front and rear talk button was for the intercom and the CB. I guess it's only for the CB. The Edsets sounded great until we started to ride. then they got noisy and really crappy sounding. Figured out real quick that you need to turn the IC volume down to "0" to enjoy the music. Am I missing something here or does the Wife need to thump me on the head to signal me to turn the IC volume up so she can tell me to slow down:confused24:

A sidecar could be the perfect reason to enter (THE DARK SIDE)

Had one mounted on a Sportster once. These answers are from New Mexico where you can legally drive anything that runs. Do they require there own license plate? Not in NM Do they have there own title? Not here Is it a rider on the insurance or a seperate policy? They didn't care Do you have parking problems (finding a spot)? Parking problems, riding problems, cornering problems, backing up problems, You can probably tell I didn't really like it, just wasn't a motorcycle with it on. (not that a Sportster is a motorcycle to begin with) Are you more visible to the cagers? Everyone seems to notice you How does the hack affect the gas milage? This was 25 years ago, gas was 87 cents, I didn't care! Good luck and be careful http://www.sidecar.com/

Found a set of Road Kings on Craigs list last week for $25. Installed them and like the sound, not as loud as I expected but better than stock. Question is, I'm not sure what year they are, and they both look the same so how can I tell if one has a catalytic converter? Thanks, Gary

I got some uneven wear on the rear pads and discovered that the pistons on the outside of the caliper were sticking. It was not letting the pad float back and was draging on the rotor. The rotor should not be hot after a few miles of freeway. Something to keep an eye on.

No paper RSV:think:

You're going to love em! And assuming you got the load range "C" I run 48 rear and 38 front. These are way different tires than Yamaha puts on so ignore the factory specs.

Looks like downtown ABQ except they are all driving on the wrong side of the road:yikes:

Best time to check air pressure
Billet replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Sounds right, set the pressure to the time of day you are riding. The new Avons will probably run cooler because of the higher pressure you will (should) be running. I took the wheels to Costco and they were happy to inflate them with nitrogen. It seems to cut down the pressure rise by a couple of pounds. -
Thanks Man, Always gives me goose bumps:thumbsup:

I have Baker Air Wings. Mixed feelings about how they look but they really do bring in the air cool air. Work pretty good to block cold in the winter too:thumbsup:

My 04 come from TN, I haven't changed anything and it runs fine. We live @6000' and ride to the mountains allot. Have a great trip and be safe!

Howdy Chief, Sorry you had to see that. I have came up on a couple of bike crashes that have just happened, always gets your attention. Hope he makes it ok and learned a few things. Thinking about joining the guard myself. Seems like the right thing to do!

Sounds to me like it's time to bleed them. And check for leaks!
-
The valve train noise on my 02 1100 was actually louder than the clutch wine on the RSV. A word of caution, the manual has a typo on the valve clearance specs. Follow what is on the bike label.

Went riding with some friends last week 2 Wings 2 Harleys and me. We stopped yo fill up, then the two Harley guys headed across the street to Auto Zone to get octane booster said it won't run right without it . The two wings both got premium. I filled up with regular like I always do. Oil, When I park it for the winter and mid summer. Unless you happen to go over 3,000 miles between changes.

Sounds like a idea. I have Air Wings and they really bring in the cool air. And they actually make it a little warmer in the cool weather. I still have mixed feelings on how they look. If we could get similar results with a cleaner look that would be great!

Know what ya mean. We were at a get together last weekend and probably got two Harley converts. They had not seen a venture up close. The clincher was sitting on it. I instantly saw the "Venture Grin:hurts:"

Done!! Heard yesterday that China has buddied up with Cuba and now they are drilling 60 miles off the Florida coast. We better get it before they do.

Has anyone tried an aircraft tire? Heck they are probably FAA approved and aren't they something like 28ply, load range G? Should hold up to anything.

Help! Need a Volume Control Knob!!
Billet replied to JoeFab's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You didn't mention if it was front or rear. I have seen threads about the rear knob that always seems to get lost. I think Radio Shack has had workable replacements. Good luck, looks like you are in it up to your ears.
