I live in MN. You should see the number of boats around here. BIG boats. Besides, these are also meant for the big offshore dual outboard boats. These will be very popular and .
-
Are you kidding? I'm sure they will sell far more of those outboards in a year than they will Ventures.
-
My fuel light never comes on and I've never seen the fuel trip meter. When I fill up it usually takes 5-5.4 gallons.

I don't know the difference. I'm pretty sure New Enough wasn't selling the Venture pants when I bought mine. One major consideration was they had to fit my larger size. The Caliber's are large enough for me.

Hmmm... I thought I had posted about riding with these on our Fall trip. The day we left and the day we returned it was freezing cold. Well in the 40's. These kept my lower half warm. I really should have had a warming jacket. After a week of riding up and down the Mississippi river along Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota proved these to be good protective, durable and warm over pants. I rode with and without the thermal liner and both ways they are comfortable and flexible. The adjustable height knee pads means that you can adjust the knee armor to where your knees are! A great feature. The adjustable waist belt is great. Oh yeah, they will keep you dry too! For warm weather riding I am going to get a pair of mesh or light weight over pants. These are just way to warm to wear when the temps are over 70.

These are over-pants. And trust me if your going to stop for a while you'll strip them off. These are warm.

Now is that the just the weight of the bike combined bike weight and my weight? If it's combined weight I can get an extra 150+ pounds in the trailer. Or should I be subtracting my weight?

It pulls my heavy A** just fine. I suppose that's not the answer you wanted.

Before the crash we had many posts on the Speedo-Healer and other similar devices. I've been thinking about getting one. I did a long write up (wish I had saved that) about the error factor on my RSV. At the time I used the stopwatch and measured mile marks. I found that my RSV was about +10% off. I calculated that even though my odometer had about 58k miles the bike had an actual 53K miles. The missing 5k is all error factor. Since then I confirmed my error factor with GPS on several occasions. The thing to remember is the error is in percentages. Meaning with +10% error at 30mph your actually traveling at 27mph and at 60mph your traveling 54mph and at 70mph your traveling at 63mph. The speedo-healer claims to accurately correct for the percentage base error factor. The one factor I can count on right now is that as long as I travel at the posted speed according to my speed-o I will not get a ticket and I have to go a little over the posted I am still safe. That is 'peace of mind' especially since the ride is more important than how fast you got there. (Usually)

I guess that's better than most of the cages out there. I think we learn the rules better because we know that no matter how "Right" we are we still lose in a crash.

We've carried those chairs on our trunk rack WITH the trunk rack bag fully loaded. There isn't a weight issue since those camp chairs are so light to start with.
-
I bought my trunk rack bag from a year ago. The velco is so hard to undo that I can not imagine it being ripped off in the wind. I put over 1000 miles of wind against it so far and it has held in place no problems. Besides, you and your passenger should block most of the wind.

Just about any spray on white wall cleaner will do the trick. Just read the bottle before buying to make sure they are safe for our rims. Put the bike up on jacks and spry with the cleaner. I usually have to let the cleaner sit a minute then I wipe off with a sponge and rinse with a hose. Real easy.

I bought my RedWings at Bob's Cycle in St. Paul, MN. http://store.bobscycle.com/browse.cfm/2,7170.html I paid a lot less that normal RedWing Store Retail prices. The 270's go for $124 American which would be about $143 Canadian. 249.99 CAD Canada Dollars = 218.272 USD United States Dollars

Check out my posts and reviews on various textile armored riding gear that I bought this year. I love my leather/textile mesh jacket from Mosse. It has CE armor protected elbows, shoulders, back and clavicles. The rest is mesh for coolness on hot summer days. I also bought a pair of tourmaster over pants. These are not mesh and are meant for cool and cold weather. They have hard plastic armored knees. Protected hips and very tough textile and padding most everywhere else. I post full details on these items in the Riding Gear forum.

Ok, here they are the long awaited Service Manuals for the First Gen Ventures. 1983 - 1985 Service Manual 1986 - 1993 Service Manual I hope some of you find these useful.

Try covering the nuts with felt or a thin piece of rubber.

Sorry to hear that. Glad your still with us. A simular thing happened to Black Owl last year. I have read about electric powered hydrali brakes that apply a limited braking force to the trailer to help conteract the extra weight. You really have to be careful with trailer brakes because they could cause an accident if they apply too much brake force.

I've never seen the moving wall. But the real Wall is very Moving. I had a chance to visit in 1985.

As long as you have an inline fuse that is the best solution yet. You MUST have a fuse to protect the battery and other circuits.

Follow this link and you will see why the Old Owl likes this web site. http://www.bargainpricewholesale.com/clothes.html (For Adults only - I know I didn't leave that page open long at work.).

Dang, a tire shouldn't do that unless it's old and the rubber is drying out. There has to be something wrong with the rubber compound. Unless your driving on it with out air.

I saw pictures of her a while back. It was scary. I've also seen this type of massive road rash in person when I worked in a hospital.
