I'm not sure if this should be here or in the jokes section. I'm just reporting the news. Enjoy or cringe as you feel necessary. June 11, 2010 12:41 PM State troopers say a man and woman injured early Friday morning in a motorcycle wreck were both naked when the bike they were on veered off Meadowview Road in Jacksonville. http://www.jdnews.com/news/class-79265-bodycopyrag-motorcycle.html

I spent most of my 8 years (1986-1994) in the Naval Reserves as a Hospital Corpsman doing Biomedical Electronics. However, I did get out on ship twice. Once on the USS George Philips FFG12 and once on the USS Estocin FFG15. http://www.navsource.org/archives/07/images/12/071201.jpg http://www.navsource.org/archives/07/images/12/071206.jpg

Well if you fail to maintain backups then well you're going to lose data no matter what OS you are using. OS X has Time Machine built in which lets you easily back up your data. I did have my hard drive on my Mac Book Pro fail and when I got my computer back, I plugged in my Time Machine drive and restored all of my data. Very little other work to be done.

Well, you can run MS Office for the Mac or you can run OpenOffice which is an open source office suite that opens and writes MS Office docs or you can run iWorks which is Apples office suite. I personally use iWorks and OpenOffice.

Even my big old '99 Chrysler LHS 3.5L V6 gets way better mileage than that. I guess you don't spend $20k on a bike like that AND expect good fuel mileage. I would still love to have one. I mean heck - it's wicked fast cool! :mo money:

Just cuz they don't allow motorized vehicles on Mackinac Island does not mean you should not go. We spent a week out there in October of 2008. One day we went out to the Island. The main street is short enough that walking is no problem at all. And we took a carriage ride to see the rest of the island that you can see.

I've done the SS Badger across Lake Michigan. I brought my own tie downs. The car deck had a metal grate section where the put the bikes. I tied to the frame crash bars front and back. Bike stayed put no problems even though we had BIG Lake Michigan waves.

Now you've done the Tail the hard way - you should go back and do it on two wheels. Your a pro at it now!

We partied with a pig big time. The guest of honor was a 140lb pig that was cooked to perfection by Gary's son Chris. About 25-30 people showed up? I'm not sure of the exact count yet. We ate pig, drank beer, ate pig, told stories, ate chili, rode the roads, ate Eagle Eye's famous baked beans, and ate more pig. A huge thanks goes out to our breakfast sponsors. We had pancakes, sausages, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and eggs cooked to order. The head breakfast Chef was Black Owl and he was assisted by me. Being able to offer free breakfast on site was a huge bonus for everyone. But we are most thankful that everyone arrived without injury this year and we sent the home the same. Ready for next year????

I have 83,943 as of this afternoon - I'll break well into 84,000 at Pork in the Pines this weekend. I pulled it out of the garage this spring with about 78k on it. Not bad considering I ride it to work every day, but work is only 11 miles away. Thinking about moving further away so I can ride more .

Good to he'll be at Pork in the Pines. This party is getting bigger! Come on up and Party with a Pig.

Looks like a good light. Depending on $$$ I'd be interested also. I would love to see all my lights converted to LED. The military is using LED headlights in some of their trucks.

Banging noise in fairing
juggler replied to sldunker's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I just cracked open the fairing two weekends ago to see what was rattling when I hit big bumps. I found one collection of wire harness plugs to the left of the headlight as you face the bike was resting on the inside fairing. It had been rubbed and banging so long that it wore a groove half way through the abs. So I cut up a foam rubber beer can cozy and glued part of that in the spot so the wire harness rests on padding. Next I found cracks in the ABS for my two outer windshield bolts. I also found the mounting point for the metal bar that the windshields bolts two was broken loos on the right hand side. I used some ABS epoxy to glue all the parts pack together again. Now mine is a '99 and after ten years of riding I expect a few signs of age, but yours is a 2007. So maybe it's just a wire hardness banging around. -
I have that same LED tail light. It bright day and night.

How do you manage?
juggler replied to FROG MAN's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
I'm a programmer and systems administrator. I have passwords to dozens of online accounts both personal and professional plus I know the passwords to administer dozens of servers. I do this so much that I just remember them all. NONE are written down. I'm just weird like that. It's the Geek in me. -

As a programmer I have to agree with that. So many people still don't understand the importance of good passwords. -
Those PGR missions can drain a person. I've done several where we left at 4am and I only had 2 hours of sleep from the day before. Then we ride a hundred + miles, stand in the sun all day and the ride a hundred + miles back home. We all watch each other and we make sure we have plenty of fluids around.

Wow!!! This will be a big rally this year - I may have to buy more cigars. I only have 40.

Whatever - I replaced my headlight stock H4 with a brighter H4. It's bright and I can finally see the road at night.

Well just come on back up the following weekend for Pork in the Pines! It's only
