  1. Not a chance of doing a ride in MN today. TOO MUCH SNOW!!! It's has been snowing all day without stopping and the radar show more snow still rolling in from the west. :snow2::snow2: :snow2::snow2:
  2. Well we're a bit different over here. Both of us are into computers (I program and she does digital photography). Tigeress bought me Bose speakers for my computer. She received 2 gigs of memory and the new OS X. I also bought her a ruby and diamond necklace.
  3. Um, if you haven't applied for your U.S. passport for your trip in July, your too late. Our Federal Government is unable to confirm and validate your citizenship and print your passport in less than 10 months. Even though they have years of your tax records on hand and a VALID Social Security number and VALID drivers license since you were 16. However, they can run background checks and process Worker ID cards that says an illegal alien is here legally and is eligible to work in this county. This they can do in 24 hours or less. Go figure. Your on the wrong end of the system. Your paying into it and they do not want you to leave the country for fear you will take you money elsewhere. Like a private non-American island with no taxes.
  4. There are several things you can do. Try to work out the issue with the member. In the VR Classifieds you can post feedback similar to eBay about a user. Contact Don or another moderator and ask for assistance. Flame on. But make sure your in the right. BTW: If they are delivering less than advertised parts or not delivering at all then there may be state and federal laws that can be used in your favor. After fraud is fraud and wire fraud is still a crime.
  5. I decided to buy a jacket that I had been looking at for weeks. The discount worked. I placed the order at 12:51am on Wednesday (today). I received an email saying the jacket shipped at 9:18am on Wednesday (today). They wasted no time getting my order out the door. Lets hope it fits.
  6. I know I do not have the most miles, but I do have 72K on my '99 RSV.
  7. Hmmmm.... I've been looking at some jackets there for the past week or so. Maybe it's about time I picked one and placed an order.
  8. Oh great! You shipped them via USPS at Christmas time. They're all lost now. Ok, I have little faith in the USPS, but I'm sure we'll all get our bells. By spring time. Actually, Thanks Don for doing this. They look great in the photos. I'm going to have to come up with a way to make sure they are very securely attached. These are bells I do not want to loose.
  9. Is it real or not? Our cat sure likes the tree.
  10. Not that it's important to me since I won't be there. But I was playing with the VR logo one day and made a reverse color version. No suggestions being made. I was just playing with the graphic.
  11. This needs to be re-visited come spring. Thanks for the translations, I couldn't catch what all of them said. It's been a long time since I read any German. (or a language of Germanic root.) I did notice a lot of mistakes made by the bikers. Some of them caused the accidents. There are careless drivers on 2 wheels as well as four wheels. I think part of the reason for the vast number of sport bike wrecks is because those bikes can go that fast. On my RSV I can make her 'GO' but not like I could on a sport bike. If I rode a sport bike, I'd be dead by now. That I know because I know I would just twist that throttle and maker her 'GO'.
  12. Because oil is evil these days. I've know about this for years and have tried to tell others. Not many will listen.
  13. I'm not sure where I stand on Red Wing shoes now. I'm still tempted to write back and tell them that having China make their biker boots might not be the best idea. I mean there is a certain amount of American loyalty to bikers. Then of course we all ride Yamaha. Still, the letter also says that they blame the demand for cheaper shoes as the reason for having some made in China. Cheaper? I paid $120 for these boots. That's not cheap! And the first pair had to be replaced by them because the side zipper broke.
  14. No kidding - I need ankle support. My ankles are poorly engineered and have a nasty tendency to roll and twist. I had stainless steel reenforcement added to the left ankle about 10 years ago after it twisted too far an broke. I am always tightening up the laces for added support.
  15. Good price however the selling only ships nationally. Shipping by slow-boat-from-China is going to set you back a few
  16. I've seen a few bikes here locally that have dozens of bells on them. The things must sound like a wind chime driving down the street. I think it's up to personal discretion and how many 'friends' you have that think you need all the help you can get.
  17. Here is the link to the MN DOT website for license plates. We have many designs for MC plates. Most of the Veteran MC plate are pretty bland, but they do denote your a Vet. http://www.dps.state.mn.us/dvs/PlBrochure/PlateFrame.htm We run with the MN Support Our Troops plates on the RSV and VW Trike.
  18. Hi Wil, Red Wing Shoe Company operates 3 U.S. manufacturing plants located in Red Wing, Minnesota, Potosi, Missouri and Danville, Kentucky. We employ over 1,000 skilled craftsmen. We also own and operate our own tannery in Red Wing, with a workforce of 170. Annually our plants manufacture over two million pairs of work boots. In the last year our domestic work force increased by 6 %. We think that’s a very positive trend given the overall continued decline of U.S. manufacturing jobs. Red Wing Shoe Company is one of a handful of companies still making shoes in the U.S. The domestic footwear industry has dwindled to this point because consumers have voted with their wallets for lower cost imported shoes. Today 98.5% of all footwear purchased in the United States is manufactured off-shore. Consequently, manufacturing shoes domestically is a lot harder, as the domestic businesses that provide our industry with materials disappear. As an example, this year one of our suppliers of steel toe caps went out of business. They were forced to close because the domestic demand for their product wasn’t sufficient to keep them operating profitably. Unfortunately our 3 U.S. plants cannot completely satisfy the demand for all styles and prices of work footwear. As an example, today’s younger consumer demands an athletic type shoe at a low price. This style of footwear cannot be competitively manufactured in our domestic plants. So we source these products offshore. We design them. We test their performance to insure they live up to the Red Wing quality standards. We hope that by providing these young workers shoes they desire today, we can someday move them into our premium Made In USA footwear products. Their fathers and grandfathers wore Red Wings. We would like to keep them and future generations wearing our brand. Again we thank you for contacting us and trust this explanation reinforces your belief that Red Wing is committed to making footwear in the U.S. Sincerely, Matt Streiff Red Wing Brands of America 1-800-733-9464 matt.streiff@redwingshoe.com
  19. I'm replacing my Dunlop 404's with 14k on them. Not sure what you others do to wear out your tires so fast. I mean miles are miles, unless your doing burnouts.
  20. It looked tasty. Venison is good food and the price is right.
  21. I just contacted Red Wing shoes via email. I sent them this and I post again if they reply. I was under the impression that your boot and shoes where an American Made product. I saw Red Wing Shoes featured on Made In America with John Ratzenberger and that even led me to believe that I was buying an American product. Being that I live in MN and visit Red Wing regularly I figured I was supporting local workers make a living. However, my Red Wing motorcycle boots say that they are made in China on the inside tag. What's up with that? So much for supporting local workers in my state or even American workers. I guess I will be finding another boot maker for the next riding season. A disappointed customer, Wil Genovese
  22. As far as I knew Red Wing boots were made here in Red Wing, MN. They were even featured on John Ratzenberger's Made In America TV show. However after inspecting the inside of my Red Wing boots I see they are made in China. http://www.redwingshoes.com/motorcycle/ http://travel.discovery.com/tv/ratzenberger-america/goods/red-wing-shoes.html And they DO NOT sell via catalogs or on the internet. They only sell through local dealers. Some of those may sell online.
  23. That would be REM (like the band) sleep. REM is a fancy acronym for Rapid Eye Movement.
  24. I've been using Progressive to insure our RSV and the rates have been dropping for me. Next year I am going to increase the PIP to the maximum so that will cause a rate increase but I already priced that out and the increase is small.
  25. I believe in MN we finally got the credit check for insurance banned. There is no legal reason why an insurance company needs to know your credit or can hold a 30 year old entry (and a positive entry at that) on your credit record against you.
