Has anyone tried these passenger highway foot boards? http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?model_ID=42&Category_ID=6&manufacturer_ID=167&product_ID=3515 I just ordered a set for my RSV in hopes of solving the problem they mention, "Eliminate the whine from your passenger seat". They won't ship until the 18th of August so I won't know how good they are until then. I was just curious to know if anyone else has tried these.

That ain't dropping, that's laying it down for a nap.

From the news reports they appear to be shaken but not stirred. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D927MVFO1&show_article=1

Glad to see you back on a 2nd Gen. Now you have to bring it up to Pork In The Pines so we can customize it for you. Keep the rubber on the road!

Hey Bill, Depending on the day your traveling you could hook up with us once you get to St. Paul. I know stardbog is coming in from Chicago, but I don't know when and by which route.

The missile is cool. I'd repaint it and label it with USAF Home Security System. I would also love to get a hold of that sword and add it to my collection.

Two or three things Mr Owl. In addition to the handles, most pro cookers have the lid counter weighted so it is easy to lift. Typically they just have what looks like handles off the back of the lid and some heavy steel welded to the ends. Second, once you get it done she needs to burn hot hot hot for a few hours to burn off any and all crud that may have been on or in it in the past. Are we going to make a rotisserie or just cook on grates?

Not that it matters to me, but that is the week of Sturgis. Just an FYI.

Discuss it here. http://www.wilgeno.com/index.cfm/2007/11/4/Motorcycle-Deaths-by-the-Numbers I did the research and found that more people that wore helmets died that those that did not. Does this mean helmets are bad? No, it means that when riding a motorcycle your chances of surviving a crash are greatly reduced no matter what you wear.

Oh, so they're putting Royal Star Venture tank badge on it then!

That was me. I'm not questioning whether it is right or wrong to defend yourself. I'm asking are you really physically capable of it when the time comes, because if you hesitate or freeze you very well may lose it all. I know I would pull the trigger. Thankfully I have not had too. Still, the best is to keep them from coming inside in the first place.

I've been safely handling and using firearms since I was 12 years old. First things first. Are you proficient with a gun? If no then buy a better alarm system. I never recommend a gun for anyone that is not proficient. There are just too many chances for the wrong people to get hurt or dead. Next, one of the most efficient deterrents are lights. We keep the outside of our house light well at all times. Like cockroaches, thieves prefer the dark. Are you really willing to shoot someone and put up with the legal hassles for doing so? Do you think you can even pull the trigger? Most people freeze or hesitate when it matters most. Are there other people in your house? If yes then really consider the round. Most bullets will travel through drywall and not even slow down much and potentially can kill the person in the next room or even two rooms over. A possible 'good' solution is either shot pellets for your handgun or a shotgun. I kept my .357 revolver with 4 shot rounds and two hollow point rounds when I lived in an apartment building. I figured the site of the gun would be deterrent enough to stop most. A few shot rounds will stop the more determined and if I had to the hollow points would have stopped them cold. Also, the hollow points will mushroom more in drywall and may slow down faster than full jackets. With a shotgun you have maximum 'Oh Crap' effect (especially double barrel) and you do not have to be a marksman under pressure to hit your target. Take care and be safe!

For those that want the 2009 rally to be in the Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois area, I am willing to help out with the planning.

Many of us are PGR members. As they state on their website, there is no requirement to be a veteran although many of us are.

You obviously know nothing of the eastern Iowa terrain. The Historic Bluff Country along the Mississippi river is impressive and breath taking. The roads are wonderful with all their twisting, winding, hill climbing and cliff hugging routes. Historic Bluff Country [http://www.bluffcountry.com/] runs all along Minnesota, Wisconsin Iowa and Illinois. I've ridden many of these roads and always love going back.

My new Dunlop 404 WWW just cost me about $90 per tire and $35 per to mount (when I brought the wheels in). You can find this price at http://www.deniskirk.com or possibly some small local cycle shops. The Yamaha dealers want nearly $150 per tire then the mounting fee. Plus they won't even kiss you after screwing you on the tires. Oh, and some have mentioned there is a difference in the Dunlop's rubber (soft/hard). Well I am not sure what the real deal is, but the Dulops I order all have the 'B' designator in them and they lasted me 12k miles before being taken out via a road hazzard. I figured I had a few thousand more to go on the rear and another 5-10k on the front.

Maybe there is nothing wrong at all. The tires may just show up unannounced. However, from what I'm reading and from what I have seen their website is very pathetic and they offer no way for the customer to know if they are ever going to get the tires. I program websites for a living. This is all I do. All users expect to know the full and complete status of their order from the moment they place their order to the moment the delivery truck pulls into their driveway. This is even more true for large dollar orders. From what I have seen SW Moto need to learn something about the internet.

All I have to say is that in South Eastern MN we have some of the best riding country in the country. From the La Crescent, MN/La Crosse,WI area you have access to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois and all the roads along the Mississippi river. This area is know as Historic Bluff Country. There's the Great River road, Historic American byways with twisties, twisties and more twisties. There's great scenic views from the bluffs of the Mississippi river. We have many great historic river towns with wonderful food and sights. A little south in Iowa is the National Mississippi River Museum. Most of the river towns along the Mississippi are very biker friendly. Bikers run the river roads routinely and many businesses survive solely because of the extra business provided by bikers. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=la+crosse+mn&ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ll=43.920401,-91.183777&spn=0.148873,0.281181&t=h&z=12&iwloc=addr An overhead map of the terrain: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=la+crosse+mn&ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&t=p&ll=43.715535,-91.18103&spn=2.263086,4.630737&z=8&iwloc=addr Short riding distance from: Wisconsin: The Circus World (http://circusworld.wisconsinhistory.org/) the original winter home of the The Ringling Bros Circus The Frank Loyd Wright houses (http://www.wrightinwisconsin.org/) The House of the Rock (http://www.thehouseontherock.com/) Minnesota: Historic Forestville (http://www.mnhs.org/places/sites/hf/) Bluff Country (http://www.bluffcountry.com/trails.htm) Historic river towns (http://gorp.away.com/gorp/location/mn/mn_se.htm) Also, the middle portion of the country has been passed over for the last two International VR Rallies. We are more centrally located so many people could attend. Neither half of the country would be left out. We are far enough north for the Canadians to come down and far enough South for the Southerners. The weather here is more mild than that of South Dakota.

I was thinking the same thing. They look great.

Well I got the tree cut down off the tree it was leaning on. It turns out that it just missed the power lines and power pole. Now I have a huge pile or tree branches and logs. I'll think about renting a chipper next weekend and a bigger chain saw to cut of the trunk into firewood.

You can wish for the Eureka Spring site all you want :rasberry: Actually, I am programming the site code to be generic enough to be used for any of our rallies. I still have more coding to do, but when it's done everything including graphics and colors will be controlled from the admin section.

Trailer hitches and trailers
juggler replied to Ken Parker's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
and we have a Trailer Forum also. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=27 Two wheel trailers pull just fine. The best thing to get is a swivel hitch for your trailer. Then there are no worries about the bike learning and the trailer pinching up on it's tongue.
