In less than one week we are roasting a pig and riding across the north country. Last minute registrations are welcome. New members that have not heard about this before are welcome and encouraged to check it out. We are lining up the tools for maintenance day on Sunday. Freebird has shipped me his colortune so I will be bringing that up also. Plus I now have about 3 dozen premium cigars for smoking around the bonfires.

I could live with that. I've liked the Stratoliner since they released it. I do like the liquid cooled engine though.
-
Well, We did 500 miles last weekend and it didn't take long for my sheep skin to be flattened down and rather pointless. I think I made need a new one.
-
Ouch. We ride near Red Wing often. Those deer are quick buggers. Glad your both in one piece. Why don't you drive up to the Pork in the Pines in your car and visit, relax and recover a bit. We're doing a pig roast and there's free camping on site.

You can never have enough fire power or too many witness to back up your case. The catch 22 is it is better to have more victims to come forward, but that means there are more people that suffered at the hands of this guy. Cindy, you definitely need to get your neighbors informed and have them ask their kids if they had contact with this guy. Also, motions of Discovery are sometimes filed early on to force the prosecution to turn over evidence before they have had time to gather all of the evidence. However, it is required by that BOTH sides share ALL the evidence they have found, whom they intend to call as witnesses and the results of any and ALL outside analysis of evidence or physical exams. Also kind of critical, when this guy admitted guilt, did he do so before or after he was arrested and Mirandized? Find out from the prosecutor handling the case. Some lawyers have tried to get spontaneous admissions of guilt thrown out as inadmissible in court because the defendant was not informed of his/her rights prior to blurting out "I did it". However, his admission of guilt is admissible. I found this in a court ruling http://courts.state.ar.us/opinions/2003a/20030515/cr02-767.html See “II. Suppression of Statements” It is well settled that a suspect's spontaneous statement, although made in police custody, is admissible against him or her. See Fairchild v. State, supra. It is irrelevant whether the statement, if in fact spontaneous, was made before or after Miranda warnings had been issued, or whether appellant was in custody. Id. We have held that a spontaneous statement is admissible because it is not compelled or the result of coercion under the Fifth Amendment's privilege against self-incrimination. Id. On review, we focus on whether the statement was made in the context of a police interrogation, meaning direct or indirect questioning put to appellant by the police with the purpose of eliciting a statement from him or her. See Rhode Island v. Innis, 446 U.S. 291 (1980). Yes, I am a geek and I like to read court rulings.. I know I’m weird. I hope this helps.

There's a ton of help for this on the Apple forums. The people there can explain it better than I can. But there is a way to make a backup at work, transfer the back up to home then restore it at home. Remember that copy music that you did not pay for is illegal.

If your planning to stay in the Devil's Lake area then I know a few places. Circus World Museum http://circusworld.wisconsinhistory.org/ We've been there. It was the winter home of Ringling Bros. Circus House on the Rock http://www.thehouseontherock.com/ This is a must see if you have never seen it, and even then it make take several trips to see it all. Cave of the Mounds http://caveofthemounds.com/ We like caves, so when ever we see one we go spelunking. Brewery Creek B&B http://www.brewerycreek.com/ We've stayed here. It's a great place to recover from all the riding with whirlpools in every room and GREAT on-site brewed beer. Frank Lloyd Wright House http://www.wrightinwisconsin.org/ Otherwise, along Lake Michigan there is Manitowoc, WI. This is where the SS Badger car ferry takes off to cross to Ludington, MI. Its a nice boat ride across the lake and back. To go round trip it's a two day deal. http://www.ssbadger.com/newhome.aspx Also, there is a WWII Submarine floating in the river behind the Maritime Museum. They give guided tours. This is the type of sub that used to be built in Manitowoc during WWII. It's great history and you get to go on a real floating submarine. http://www.wisconsinmaritime.org/

Well then I want to see one of those there. My bike needs that checked. And I need to install the new plugs.

Heck, on Sunday Minnesota is a dry state. No off-sale of beer, wine, or spirits are allowed on Sunday's. However, you can drink yourself silly in a restaurant that serves. The point is Government control over our lives.
-
There are dry counties and believe it or not the county in which the Jack Daniels distillery is located is a dry county, Lynchburg, TN. They can make it there, but they can not drink it there. Cheers or is that bottoms up? No wait that was the pond monsters and we don't like bottoms up!

Many good ideas. We're getting closer to a plan at least for the trip out and back. Two short riding days each way. Also, we're from MN. We are used to the cold, we'll be fine as long as it don't snow . A few years ago we did our Anniversary trip to Door county. We also took the SS Badger across to Ludington and back on that trip. The weather was the best part. It's the heat that gets us.

I've seen a carb tune, but what is a color tune?

I guess I never really looked at your bike closely until now. Really nice ride. If I had the money I'd buy it from you when/if you get your HD Fire Fighter bike. Do you have a photo of how the Rivco Horns are mounted? The V-4 side cover, where did you get that? I've only see one for sale but I thought it was for a different version Yamaha V-4? How do you keep your tool pouch from hitting the fender?
-
Oh please show how those would be mounted. I've always like the twin trumpet horns but thought they would look a bit odd mounted to the front fender rail.

The visiting did go longer than the shower and we did get a later start home than planned. About an hour later. We finally rolled in about 10pm. A 500 mile butt burn trip.

Uh, I typoed in my post - We're there from Sept 29th to October 3rd.

I had a bee tag me at last years Pork in the Pines while on our Saturday ride. I was leading the ride when all of a sudden I get a shot of pain right above my right boot top. The pain was huge. It was all I could do to stop safely and get that dang thing out of there.
-
I was about to post Jackson Bridge. I was able to enhance that much of the photo to read that. I still had no clue where it was located so you win that's for sure.

We've decided where to go on our annual anniversary trip. We're heading to Mackinaw City, MI. We should be there from Monday Sept 29th to Friday October 3rd. So far we've planned to go and not much else. We're going to stay in Mackinaw City and take day trips to various places and sights in Northern MI. I know we plan to see Sleeping Bear Dunes. I haven't been there since I was a kid and my wife has never been there. I know we'll also be stopping in Petoskey, MI. My mother used to spend summers up there as a kid and I kinda want to see the place. Other than that we have no plans. October 2nd is our anniversary so that day I suppose I should find something special to do. We are both water rats. We love being on the water so if there are tour boats in the area, I'm sure we'll be on one. I kinda want to run down the Lake Huron lake front a bit. Huron is the only lake of the Great Lakes that I have not been on and I've only see it once back in 1998. Also, if anyone is in the area then we'd like to meet ya one afternoon. A meet and eat for sure. So, what's in the Northern Michigan area that is a must see or must do? Cheers and Michigan here we come!
-
The Pork in the Pines Rally is in Northern MN. Not Michigan. We look forward to seeing Lowell when he gets here. We better stock up on beer.

Well, I'm sitting at the Flying J truck stop in Fargo, ND. My wife's niece (in Moorehead, MN) is having a baby shower so I said I'd drive her up here on the bike if she wanted. So we busted butt up I-94 to Moorehead, MN. Only 250 miles from St. Paul. I dropped her off, said hi to her nieces and nephews and left the girls to be girls. So here I sit at a truck stop with wi-fi eating beef ribs. In a few hours they'll be done and I'll pick her up and hit the highway. We did see a Midnight Venture heading East on I-94 somewhere west of Alexandria, MN. That one belong to any one here?

RSV Seat Questions or Maybe Pants?
juggler replied to ebat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have the same backrest. I can learn back my full weight into it with no problems. That thing has saved my back and lets me keep riding. After a few hundred miles my back side is raw. I've tried a few things including a Butt Buffer (that works some), sheep skin (that works some), I even bought the newer pillow top seats (Those helped the most). I just bought a pair of really baggy carpenters jeans. I'm hoping that a looser fitting pant will help with keeping cool and stop some of the binding and rubbing.- 27 replies

Bubber is from North Branch, MN and I bet he is bringing his trailer up to Pork in the Pines. Come on up to see how he built it. I'll be looking closely at it since he built a tear dropper style trailer and I think I am going to take the Sears car topper off of my trailer and build a tear dropper.

And just in time for the BBQ at Pork in the Pines!!! BBQ Big Foot, A Minnesota Tradition.
