  1. Well, I finally found a fairing. All it cost me was a dozen pink and purple glazed donuts---and some cash too. Maybe my 86 will be ready for the M&E in Jax. I know---ill bake a nice cake! A nice Banana Cream Pie!
  2. OK, the search is over..I found a fairing...............
  3. I had received the "Notorious" e-mail while I was with the other site. I remember some issues back then and, not knowing the players I wasnt sure what was going on then. A few months later I came across a link and VIOLA!!! I had arrived.
  4. A Mytivac pump! Also, to prevent spillage on your paint, wrap a large trash can plastic bag around the brake cylinder on the bars and for the rear and tape it into place. Also wrap an old towel around the area to prevent/absorb any spills. Do not drain the old fluid out completely as you will only suck more air in, rather pump it out gradually until its about 1/4 way from the bottom and fill with fresh fluid. continue this flushing process till the fluid looks almost clear in the sight window. I personally replace the caps prior to pumping each time. Im going to assume that you have a basic knowledge of bleeding, so you should tighten back the bleeder screw each time you refill then crack it open when your ready to bleed. Im sure others will chime in too. You may also want to do this to the clutch too. The fluid in there may look like Guinnes stout by now.
  5. Ahhhh, thanks but.......NO!!
  6. Thanks for all the warm welcomes. But some of you seem to be hard on Ruffrider. Hes a really nice guy! He helped me out a lot. Maybe some day he will let me frost his cookies. I mean bake him some fresh cookies--- And Hipshot..yes, pink is my favorite frosting for baking. As I also understand it, someone named beer makes pink leather goods. maybe he can make some man purses---LOL
  7. Go for it...ill protect ya. Ill keep him stuffed with fresh donuts. He will be on such a sugar high he wont know a thing. Ill even put my favorite pink frosting all over them.
  8. Hi guys, im in desperate need of a left fairing half for my black/uschi 86 royale. Ebays prices always went beyond my grasp. At this point id consider other colors as long as its intact. Thanks all-Benny
  9. As long as his last name isnt Hitter:rotf:
  10. Wow, when i first looked at this link it was at 62.00. It finally sold for 182.00!! Much more than I had set aside. So, im still looking for a left fairing at a reasonable price. I dont care about the color as long as its intact. Thanks-Benny
  11. I have used Yamaha Sports Plaza quite a few times now for factory parts and Star accessories and always got good prices and quick service. My local dealer charges full retail. I ordered a part from YSP and it came in almost 35.00 cheaper with shipping than from my local dealer.
  12. I have 2004 r/k's on mine with no converter. I believe the convertors came on the 2005 up mufflers. I believe the Convertor causes a restriction problem.
  13. I have been to some events here that was hosted by the Outlaws. It was open to the general public. From what I have seen they kept to themselves and nobody interferred with them. Basically they like to be left alone. That being said, however, if I did see some 1%'er broke down I would offer help and if declined, just move on. If he wants your help he will take it, if not...oh well. At least you offered.
  14. www.clearviewshields.com A little pricey but well worth the money. Order the one with the vent. you'll be glad you did.
  15. Lowell, we got a space for ya here too.....

  17. So where is the pic of the bike??
  18. If you have a Harbor Freight store in your area you can pick up what is called a step bit. It has several sizes on it. You just keep drilling till you come to the right size. They should also have the long extension for it too. Other hardware stores carry it too but H/F has the best price. Use the narrow one. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/gifs/clear.gif I tried posting a pic but it wouldnt take ithttp://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/gifs/clear.gif
  19. Can you see through the muffler? If you cant then there is a plate blocking the path. It can be drilled out using a step drill bit and a long extension.
  20. Wow, you sure got an introduction to the VR group. Meeting the Muffins, Beer and Riderduke is more like a college hazing/Mafia/lobotomy all rolled into one. Glad you survived...and welcome to the club.
  21. Glad to hear your doing so well, Lonna. Brad needs all the help he can get.
  22. Just ordered mine.
  23. I can see it now. Just married, a couple of down and out flat pancakes living off the syrup of the land, tattered, battered, and buttered, no, margarine, they were but mere silver dollar pancakes. But one day, Don shows up: says we will start this site for sore pancakes and call it VentureRiders.Org!! Overnight, the flat, tattered Muffinman family somehow had some yeast injected by the secret VR Fairy called The Dairy Queen!!! They rose to the occasion and found new life as a couple of really delicious MUFFINS!!! Look, I know im new here but I have been lurking for some time. I think Freebird has done a wonderful job here. Glad Im now a member.
