  1. Here in Florida you can hang the car handicapped tag on a bike as its registered to the disabled person, not the vehicle. We have dedicated mcy parking close to the front entrance at work so its really not a problem for me.
  2. Somehow it all seems appropriate.......:rotf:
  3. I just took my sleeping pills too....ill be passed out by 6PM,,,,say hi to Sherry for me. Ill probably try and check in at 1:30 AM my time when I roll out of bed.
  4. empirical.....now thats a $10.50 word if I ever heard one!!
  5. yep Oh bite me......
  6. No leaks from the pipes or connectors. Also have new gaskets on all pipes too. Fumes arent the issue. Nope, dont use headsets either. Personally I think that after 4 years of use the packing inside the mufflers are wearing out. My wife says she dont remember the bike sounding so loud at highway speeds before. I might be making a road trip so ill stick the stockers on and see if it makes a difference. Either that or maybe im just becoming an older grouch..
  7. Sigh....ill never get a cheesecake down here......
  8. Good price on pads at www.motorcycleproshop.com I used them a few times. Good service and prices. By the way, I used the EBC HH pads front and rear.
  9. Me and the wife went on a 250 mile lunch run today. We wanted Texas Roadhouse badly but the one in Orange Park is usually crowded. We took 90 all the way to Lake City where TRH is rarely packed and we had a great lunch. Getting back up on 75 then I-10, we were running about 80. As I hit Jax and got on I 295, I felt fatigued. So did Jean and she was complaining about a headache. It hit us that the Road King mufflers, which are drilled out, was invading my space and seemed louder than ever. Now, I love the way they sound in local driving, but at highway speeds, it is now grating on me. So, I just might have to go back and install the stock mufflers for long highway trips. And you thought you had tough decision to make in your life, huh?
  10. I got involved with trucks way back in the 70's in NYC. Very first driving job was delivering church candles for Gallo Candle co in Brooklyn NY, then an air freight co at JFK. I also worked as a painter/foreman at a truck painting shop. I had to move/deliver them to customers after I painted them. Some of the trucks were beauts. Weirdest one was equipped with an air clutch. Had to make sure it was in neutral when it was parked. If the air leaked down, you were stuck in gear. In 1977 I took a job with Akers Motor Lines, who went out of business not too long afterward. One thing Akers did for me was to get me into the Teamsters Union. After working out of a Union shape hall for about a year I was placed with Preston Trucking co, where I worked for 7 years before taking a test for the Post Office in 1987. In those 7 years I also did road work for McLean trucking on weekends, running doubles from Newburgh NY to Cleveland Ohio on weekends. Yes, I know...way over my service hours. I passed the Post Office test and had a decision to make. I looked at the freight industry as a whole and decided that it was worth a pay cut to leave and start with the Post Office as a driver. Good move for me as Preston eventually went out of business. I was vested in the Teamsters and will receive a pension in a few years from them. I began as a Tractor Trailer Operator for the PO in Queens NY, transfering to Long Island 8 months later. I then transferred to Jacksonville FL in 1990 and im still doing it. Now im looking forward to retirement in about 8-10 years.
  11. I got my new hat too, several weeks ago. And I sure as heck look better than Thom!!!
  12. I have had no problems with my clutch using Amsoil synthetic oil. BTW: I did replace my clutch about 4 years ago with the Barnett set-up. Been using syn oil ever since.

  17. Whatever it is, its sure a pretty green! Let me know when you find a pink connection.
  18. My daughter recently received a ticket and we fought it in court.. We won and didnt have to pay BUT, here is the kicker, I took a day off work and lost over $2300 in sales for doing so and she lost a day of school in the process. Puc, Ill give you a similar analogy: When I was a Union rep I had to file a grievance against management because they bypassed an employee for a double time day when they scheduled in someone from another shift to cover the work at the time and a half rate, which clearly violated the contract. It was brought to managements attention in an effort to correct it beforehand and save them money in the end. Mgt, in their arrogance said to go ahead and file a grievance. I went ahead and filed. It went through 3 steps in the process before someone at the top finally agreed that this should have been settled before it became an issue. I then broke it down in dollars to them. If the employee would have worked he would have made about 300.00. Instead you worked someone else for 200.00. Mgt had to cover my duties 3 seperate times at the time and a half rate to attend these hearings @ 600.00. It was settled that the employee was wronged and was paid 300.00 for staying home when he could have been utilized and worked for the money. Now add in the two mgt reps and their time involved in all of these meetings, the cost to settle this 300.00 issue now cost over 2000.00. So, I agree, some little low level supervisor took the crown, set it on his head and declared he was king for the day. In the end it cost them big. Egos, greed, power trips, arrogance, selfishness are all contributing factors to our wordly problems. Hmmmm, I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last nite too.....
  19. Yea, I had that problem, along with a bad rectifier/regulator. But in my case the stator was charging properly. My charging was in the 13-14 range. That stator wire can be located from the right side of the bike. I removed the right and left side battery cover and center cover, seat, and overflow tank, which gave me access to the connector. Look down into the space, its located fairly low in the opening. Now, on my 99 the connector was so grease caked that I thought it was a rubber hose. I was finally able to clean it all off, disconnect the connector, and spray it clean with electrical connection cleaner from Radio Shack. Once dry, I lubed it with dialectric grease and snapped the connection back together. Be careful as that connector may be brittle. My new battery also had a weak cell and the dealer swapped it out for me. By thew way, Sports Plaza www.ysppart.com had the best prices on the parts I needed and quick shipping.
  20. Would I lie, Drayski???
