  1. Hey, I wanna go for a RIDE!!!!!
  2. After 3 sets of Metzlers and having two of those sets come apart im finished with those tires. There customer service was lousy. I do love the way they handled in wet/dry weather but sorry folks, a tire aint supposed to de-laminate like that.
  3. Although I would love to trek to Colorado or any point west I simply cannot take off that much time from work among other issues. So, ill guess ill toss my hat into the ring for Tennessee or Arkansas. Florida is nice but extremely hot in the summer.
  4. quote:it fits just like an old shoe. a size 14 shoe................. Looks real nice...glad you came to your senses and got something comfy for Lonna and yourself. Good luck Bro.(a chroming we will go)
  5. Hmmm, im sure Starbog might just wanna spoon with ya again in spandex.....
  6. Pilot, it's possible that the JC Whitney mufflers are slightly smaller than the Harley pipes, which im guessing we were all assuming you were using. The clamp works perfectly with Harley R/K mufflers.
  7. Eck is right. That looks like the same clamp I got from Iron City Cycle. Granted, you do have to spread the gap slightly but the muffler butts up against the ridge ( or the headpipe butts up against the ridge, I forget). Its not a perfect install but to make it easier I had to clean all debris and rust from the head pipe and end of the muffler. I then coated the the pipes with anti-sieze compound, slid the pieces together and used a rubber mallet to gently nudge it all together. A good solid tap with a dead blow hammer and a block of wood against the R/K muffler bracket brought it sliding into home plate. The anti-sieze compound makes it slide on a bit easier and also helps with removal.
  8. Naaa, but I do have a special place for an 84.......
  9. Defination of Super Moderator: Two all beef patties, special sauce...........you know the rest.......:rasberry::rotfl:
  10. Looks good, huh.......
  11. Wow, and your only 42.....Maybe one day my daughter will surprise us too...Best of wishes.
  12. Very nice Squid.....sure hope (ok I know) you and Lonna are gonna enjoy riding it. You know something? I bet that thing will glisten riding along A1A.....
  13. Got this today. Brought a tear to my eye. http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh289/Impish_Dragon/?action=view&current=Untitled.flv
  14. Ken, im in the process of building my second Harbor Freight trailer. The first one pulled just fine. The only difference this time is that im going with an 8" wheel over the 12 and im narrowing the frame. Using an 18 CF car topper too. Now, you can spend anywhere from 400.00 to 7000.00 for a trailer. It all depends on what you are looking for and how much time you spend on the road. As far as hitches go I use a venturedad hitch, 4 bolts and its installed. It replaces the rear cross bar under the rear fender. www.venturedad.com I have never had a tilting issue with a standard ball hitch. I dropped my bike once with the trailer attatched and there was no issue at all.
  15. So where are the pics??
  16. In my humble opinion I certainly wouldnt trust a set-up like that. You would be placing most of the weight of the bike on the rear end. Its not a steel rear like a car but much more delicate. I personally have never seen anyone do it with such a heavy bike.
  17. As I remember it from some training class many years ago, if the light is yellow it is an indication that its changing to red. It does not mean that you speed up to beat the light, but rather prepare to stop for the red. As a driver, you should be able to make a distinction as to whether you can stop safely. You are supposed to take in the whole picture and respond within seconds. Obviously, if someone is tailgating you, trying to make the light with you, than stopping quickly might not be a good move. It happened to me and I beat a ticket with that argument. But my point being is to always be aware of your surroundings before you make a decision.

  19. Hey DD, if your gonna replace the tip, you may want to consider one like this: It mounts with double sided tape and it has never come off the bike. Its a factory Yamaha part.
  20. Too bad your not passing thru Jacksonville. Glad you had a good trip. The bike looks great. I sure wouldnt mind one for around town riding. Ill keep the RSV for the trips. Either way, get home safe.
  21. I got under the bike today and cleaned the area up good. It looks like its NOT the shock but oil coming out of the vent hoses and being forced back onto the shock while im riding. Ill check it in a few more days but there is no oil under the shock now that the bike is idle. There was oil on the floor after a ride. If it was bad it would have leaked while parked. It was also dry under the boot.
  22. Dont feel bad, Mike...he passed by our front door too..... Seriously though it looks like you had a good trip despite the rain. Thanks for the detailed post.
  23. No, you cant adjust them without a tool properly. All it may need is a slight 1/16" adjustment on a screw and visually you would not be able to feel this with any degree of accuracy. My bike ran very rich even after several carbtunes. Once I had a colortune done it runs way better.
  24. Be careful Gene and Becky. Have a safe trip.
  25. Nice pics!!!!
