I had to use the black leather cover too. Yamaha used to sell it..they may still do.

Cant believe that im happy to be paying $3.70 a gal gas today....I also couldnt believe a line forming to the street too. I just went a few blocks further and found another station at the same price without anyone by the pumps. Wow, if it ever hits $3.00 a gal again I might just have a stroke.

Mark, are you mounting that Federal tire? If so, let me know how it performs. Im kinda teetering on the edge here and I like the Federal profile.

Lowell, you have put more miles on your bike in 6 months than most of us have in 2 years. Take a rest my friend and get your innards in order. Im sure you will make up for it once your feeling better.

How far is the trunk supposed to open?

I just took the pesky bracket out. Works just fine for me. -
Congrats, Mike and Alice. Your best years are still ahead of you.

They probably didnt include the Venture mainly because there have been no updates to the bike since 99. All those other baggers have been updated on a regular basis. I agree on the Rocket 3 though. They should have included a BMW over the Rocket.

Iggy, what color is the fluid? Since the bike sat for a year you may have some sediment clogging one of the orfices. If the fluid looks like Guinness stout then its time to flush the system. I had a similar problem with my 83. It turned out to be a clogged orfice in the rear master cylinder. I had taken it apart to rebuild, however I never blew compressed air through it once apart. About midway in the cylinder there is a really tiny orfice that was clogged and prevented me from getting a pedal. Fluid did ooze from the bleeders but that was about all it did. And I also agree with the Mity-Vac. Good luck.

Met Eyehook yesterday when he and his wife came by the house. Turns out my wife knew him for about a year at work as they always talked about our dogs on break. The world dont get any smaller than that. He just purchased a 1986 Royale, Black and Uschi. Looks to be in excellent shape with 47k on the clock. Im sure he will post some pics soon. That was a hint, Larry.....

Personally I think the bike still needs a blast of ocean sea mist, best applied while cruising along A1A here in Florida!!

A roofing question for you contractors out there..
1BigDog replied to 1BigDog's topic in Watering Hole
Bingo! Thats what it is. Its been so long that I forgot the proper term for it. I think ill just go ahead and get a qualified roofer to fix it properly. The original installer hasnt called me back yet. Al, the original intent was to add a deck over the roof, which is why we left it flat in the first place. After we had the roof done we discovered that it was too much trouble to add a door from our upstairs bedroom to the deck area. This was an option when first buying this house, but the original owner chose not to add a deck. To put a door in now would require a contractor to tear off part of the house roof to properly install a header. If it was done while the house was being built, it would have been so much easier. Only thing I can do now is to fix the leak and once the roof needs replacing then go ahead and have a pitch installed. Thanks Clawed and everyone else. -
Ok, so I guess none of you all see the pic in the first post. Sorry about that. Its showing up on mine.
