For me personally, with 40 years of clean driving, I would at least make an attempt in court for a reduced fine with no points. Unless taking off from work will make that choice useless moneywise. Presentation is everything. A little story: In 1988, when I lived in NYC, I received a red light ticket while attempting to get on to the Long Island Expressway in Queens. If I had tried to stop for the light I would have been rear-ended. The cop stopped the car behind me, then seeing I was hung up in traffic, ran up to me and stopped me too. I tried to explain about the rear ender part but all he did was to show me a stack of tickets he wrote within the last hour and to be quiet. Since I work for the Post Office I went to court in full uniform with a tie on too....I never wear a tie! I was going to plead Guilty with an Explaination, which was an option then. The cop was there too. I was the first ticket in the box. The judge looked me over then placed my file on the bottom of the box. I was a bit miffed but I said nothing. This cop had about 10 cases that were heard, all guilty too. The cop got called to another court room. As soon as he left the judge placed my file in front of him, said the officer failed to appear....charges dismissed!!! Moral to the story: you will never know until you try.....

Wish you were closer to me Mark. I just dont have the time to run down there. And with the storm coming in I wouldnt suggest coming up here. Sounds like there might be some serious carbon build-up on those plugs. Or maybe one gap is closed. As far as gas goes, I have always run mid grade in mine. Might also be a bad connection with a plug wire.

You have a PM Mike....

I knew I should have gotten up sooner...........GRRRRRR.... If Ceedoo backs off Ill take it.....

Yep, that little cap is an art to install once its off. It will stretch out over time and even though I have had mine now for 3 years it still gives me fits sometimes. Dont try to install it with gloves on.....start at the bottom and loop one end under the cap, then slowly bring it up equally on both sides then deftly tuck it in over the top...almost like putting a sock on your foot. Yep, theres a procedure for everything I guess..LOL:doh:

You mis-read him Gibby...hes not leaving Florida but moving up here to Northern Florida. I love my bugs and humidity and straight roads, especially that nice oceanfront A1A...so there. Snow was also one of the reasons why I left NYC.

My response from them 4 years ago was a bit stronger. Maybe because I was a bit more agressive with them after the first "blow off" response. Air pressure issue again, even though I ran 46-48 lbs pressure. Another thing that I have found out is that they do not take forums seriously. They feel that we are nothing more than a bunch of whiners. What I would suggest that we start doing is to save those discarded tires, bring them to the next major bike event where Metzeler has a tent set up and put on our own display. Maybe then they will take notice. Or you may get arrested....who knows...
-
You know what really bugs me about this whole Metzeler issue is that unless you are doing something really outrageous like pit burnouts or such, NO TIRE SHOULD DELAMINATE LIKE THE 880 DOES. Yes, I agree that its a great handling tire but in all of my years of riding, no tire ever came apart on me like 2 sets of rear 880's did. So, to those of you who have never had any issues with them I say great. Just keep an eye on them. Im just glad that no one has gotten hurt yet.

Very nice indeed and welcome over to the BRIGHT SIDE!!!!

18k on a rear tire and you had the chutzpah to put in a second plug???? Its sending shivers down my spine already. Yep, I sure do think that you were very lucky.
-
Theyre gonna tell you the same thing they told me 4 years ago......"You abused the tire"
-
What he said.......Just glad that you are OK.

Cant help you on the under the fairing strip, but im sure others will chime in. However, the RSV charging system is not up to snuff for heated clothing unless you turn off some other accessories. You may want to consider the Stator upgrade from www.buckeyeperformance.com It will satisfy all of your power needs. Im gonna try and get that done myself this winter.

Maybe we can call them "Rolls Knardly".....rolls down one hill..knardly make it up the other....:smile5::buttkick::duck:

My HD friends are sure cherishing the HD way of life. More power to them. I even congratulate them on their choice of bike, now that they are on a fixed income..LOL. By the way, my buddy bought a pure white Ultra Classic from Daytona....wonder if its the same one....:mo money:I call his bike "Snow White" and dubbed him the "One Big Dwarf":smile5:

Someone at work also gave me that Harley line. I told him that I guess ill just be a very lonely but happy biker. Gotta give the Motor Company their due. They sure do know how to market a product along with an image. At least their product is a quality bike, expensive, but well made too. :mo money:

Glad you all had a good time. I sure wish that I could have made it there.
