    Welcome home Bob.......
  4. Chat room needs to be renewed.....kinda like not paying your light bill....
  5. Your gonna hafta splice. I used the connectors and spliced it into the harness behind the battery, ran the wiring up under the trunk and secured the plug under the left side of the trunk so its out of sight but easily accessable. I used a Hoppy Powered Convertor to avoid running the trailer lights off of the bikes system. The battery powers it.
  6. Ill give ya a call on Friday, Larry. If Jean gets up early enough I might head down and hit either the Speedway or the Sunshine Mall before the meet. Kevin, you and Adam coming?
  7. Just look for us.....we will be standing out in the crowd. Blue Jeans and black t shirts. PLUS, we will be the ones surrounded by bikini clad wimmen too, all drooling over our RSV's and stammering,,,"Harley WHO??"
  8. Earnie cant make it either...hes got some SCRC event up towards Pensacola this weekend. a little update: We need to move the time to 2 pm this saturday to accomodate a late arrival. So, lets meet at the same place at 2 PM Sat Oct 18th.
  9. Bodean, I have a Freebird centerstand for sale. It already has the brackets and hardware. It was about 115 new I think. Make me a reasonable offer if your interested.
  10. Dang Thom, I just didnt think you would really do it.......Good luck. We will miss you back here.
  11. There is such a huge variable in gas prices lately. And some places here there seems to be a gas war going on. But those stations with really low regular prices have a twenty to thirty cent mark-up to mid-grade and another twenty cent to premium. Sounds like some form of gouging is still going on.
  12. I e-mailed ZTOG and Whenisell. Edd's in Mena AR. for the CMA Changing of the Colors so hes out. ZTOG is now riding a Harley and we all know he would now need at least three days to ride here from Pensacola on a HD......:crackup:so we know hes out too. Oh yea....still waiting to hear back from Earnie.....you remember Najorka!!
  13. Hang in there Allan. Prayers are being sent.
  14. Glad you two had a great trip and got back safely......
  15. Ok then, lets do it!! Lets go for the old Sly Fox say noonish on Sat the 18th. Jrichard, too bad we cant find Nicky and Ellis. It would be great to see them too. I gave up on ZTOG....I think he moved to another solar system. Ill send Edd an email and see if he comes too.
  16. We will be heading down to Daytona next Sat, the 18th for the day. Were meeting up with "Coach" and his wife Linda from Ohio for some lunch. Any local who wants to make the trip chime in. We used to meet at a place called the Sly Fox on US1 South but it has since closed down. However I saw it was open again under new ownership, US1 restaurant or something like that. Its located South of the Sunshine Mall. Address is: US-1 restaurant 2842 S Ridgewood Ave (US1) South Daytona FL Time: 2PM Located on southbound Ridgewood ave (east side of roadway) If not there then Webbers Steaks is another good place, also on US1. This will be updated later this week.
  17. Yes it was. I wasnt about to trust the old rectifier so I tossed it. Cheap peace of mind at $48.00. As far as future fixes go, Im going to try and put together a tech article on the stator change. The rectifier mod will be included but pics for it are minimal. I was more interested in finishing it than snapping pics. I did learn a lot from this project and its not for the faint of heart. You do need some mechanical skills and a lot of patience along with some common sense so when things start to get messy you know its time to walk away from it for a while and come back with fresh eyes.
  18. Glad your okay. Maybe all that yelling and shouting at the moron was something you also needed to do, just to release the anger. Bet you felt better after that. Had you held it in and tried to ride, it could have been worse.
  19. I knew there was a reason I moved to Florida....... Enjoy your ride tonight..... Hey Vinny, Bear Mountain is a great run. I sure do miss it. Have a blast. Lonna, hope the surgery went well. Pretty soon you'll be smacking Squid in the head with even greater force. By the way, im getting my knee scoped in Jan. Not ready for the knee replacement yet.
  20. Im sure glad I dont work on piece work basis, or id be a poor miserable B*****d...... Anyway, finally got the rectifier wired back up. All sealed, heat shrunk, soldered and best of all, charging like theres no tomorrow. It was a royal PIA but well worth the time in the end. I know I drove some of you nuts with my phone calls. Thanks for the help. I'll go away now....
  21. Dang Thom..ya mean I wont see ya for biketoberfest, huh....... Glad you made it to Texas in one piece, you ol skunk.....
  22. Prayers sent from Florida.
  23. Somehow I just knew that would grab your attention.
  24. Ya know, all this talk about clutch springs and pressure plates remind me of one very important thing......WHATEVER SET-UP YOU DECIDE TO GO WITH ALWAYS, AND I MEAN ALWAYS REPLACE THE STOCK BOLTS. Even though the torque specs are less than 7 ft lbs there is a good chance that you will snap off a bolt in the basket. With the Barnett I replaced the hex bolts with allen head bolts. And yes, I did try the stock bolts and one of them broke off before I even came close to the torque setting. A gentle nudging with the easy-outs worked, luckily for me.
  25. Since I havent been able to locate a replacement plug im just going to have to modify the one I have now. It was almost impossible to locate the proper female pins that slide into the rectifier and lock into the plug. I looked everywhere. I was discussing this with one of our heavy truck mechanics at our shop and he took one look at the stock wire and pin set-up, walked away for a few minutes then came back with 5 perfectly matched wires with the proper female pin already soldered to the wire. Seems that International trucks use some of the same connectors. The wires were 6" long, plenty of wire to solder it together properly. The three white wires were the proper gauge but the red and black wires needed to be a thicker gauge. I soldered two heavier gauge wires, 10G I believe, to some connectors that I had. I plan on drilling the old stops out of the plug, installing it on the wires, connect the pins to its proper location, slide the plug over the rectifier, then add some RTV to the holes in the back of the plug to make it water tight. One thing you need to make sure of if attempting this kind of mod is to make a template of the wiring and place the wires in the exact same location otherwise POOF!!!!! Ill probably finish it on Friday.
