Just get the leather gas cap cover from Yamaha and your problem is solved. It works great for me.

I used Neosporin with pain relief on mine as per my artists instructions. It kept the area soft, itch free, scab free and pain free.

Looking forward to the article. I plan on replacing my front bearings and maybe races this winter. I originally did the shortcut method back in 2004 and it worked fine. I just did it again this past summer and it seemed to have pulled the fairing mounting points and driving light bracket slightly off center. Right now the bike feels a little wobbly. Not a speed wobble, just a bit "loose" if you know what I mean. Swingarm has already been repacked. At 56k I might also just go ahead and replace the wheel bearings too.

Well, since I weigh 300+ lbs it was pretty easy to get mine to squat down a few inches......

Its called firstgenalzheimerforgetfulness disease......runs rampant in certain 1st gen riders. It usually begins as a slight drool, followed by a distaste for Dairy Queen and a sudden fondness for Similac.

Well, I was gonna try and make it up there this weekend but Im scheduled to work Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Big bucks!! So, its not looking good at all. Ill just add that getting a tat really isnt painful. Its more annoying if anything. Kinda like someone scratching a nail across your skin. Unless the artist happens to be a student of Marquis' de Sade.............. Enjoy.....................

Since the bike is still under warranty let the dealer deal with it. For the wife, well, there are some hit-men in NYC that could use the extra work.......

I see in some parts of the country winter is setting in, and you can see it reflected in some of the posts here, so, ................ "LET THE DRIVEL BEGIN"!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about the ticket Thom. Unfortunately, unless you have a clear tape recording (which may not be admissable in court) of the cop or a witness to his words, then you are most likely SOL. Just hope he dont see you on your bike.

I can sympathize with ya a bit JT. While my back is so-so, my knees cry out all day long. Sometimes they even lock up for a while. No cartledge and torn meniscus. Yep, getting old is real fun.........

Yep, even I can do it myself now that I have an adapter!!! Just make sure you have proper contact on all 4 corners and practice with some help first before you do it yourself. Once you start jacking up the bike it will sit upright very fast and can spook someone who isnt ready for it. Raise the jack slowly and hold onto the passenger grips and handlebar. Preferably raise it with the jack coming in from the right side. Same thing with lowering it. Just make sure your side stand is lowered all the way and let the jack down very slowly. Once the wheels make contact it will lean over to the side stand rather quickly.
