These are dead lights the rest of the time. Our signal kits simply, easily and legally: - make those dead housings additional red running & brake lights the rest of the time. -TRIPLE the size of your rear running and brake lights without adding any additional housings. - do not alter the operation or components of the stock turn signals. - shut off the red light in the signal housings when the amber signal comes on. Other kits make your signal lights into running lights and signals, but in amber: - ILLEGAL on any motor vehicle and much more expensive than our kit plus. - NO brake lights! No dying or replacement of the lens is required either with our kit. Federal regulations require a motorcycle to have amber turn signals and this kit keeps you in compliance and safer. Sorry but I have to completely agree with Gooses assessment of the Metzler tire. Out of three sets of 880's that I have installed, two of the rear tires failed. All sets were run at 48 lbs pressure. Set #1 failed at the end of its life span at 13k. Set #2 had no issues. Set #3 failed at 6k. And good ol' Metz customer service blamed it on underinflation both times. I didnt even want them to replace them, just address the issue. They did not even show a basic concern for the issue. Maybe there hasnt been a recall because no one has been killed yet. Maybe then a savvy lawyer will sink their teeth into them. I have also said this before: they make a great handling tire. I loved them in wet and dry weather. Too bad they dont hold up well. Its a crapshoot at best. And I also have said in the past that, unless your running a tire seriously underinflated, and not just a few lbs under, NO TIRE SHOULD DELAMINATE. Any product out there has a built in margin of error, and that includes tires. To go with the inflation theory means that Metz tires cannot take the stress of being underinflated ANY AMOUNT OF PRESSURE! What I would love to see is everyone who has had an issue with these tires save them and try and take them to one of the larger bike rallys where Metz has a tent set-up and put them on display. It would be great to just get maybe 25 sets of delaminated tires piled in front of their tents.

George, I have had better dealings with www.flatoutmotorcycles.com in Indiana. Plus hes a member here too. Prices were slightly better than Seattle but I did get some attitude fron Seattle when I was trying to get some shipping info on the phone. Flat out was true to their word. Id give them a try in the future.

I seem to recall that Rider magazine tried such a swap back in 86 or 87 and it was a flop. Not sure what the issues were back then but they were not pleased with it. -
Welcome to sunny Florida AMR. Im up in Jacksonville.....maybe 150 miles northeast of you.

Brad, the ports are expanding big time down here in Jax. Hanjin cargo from Japan is opening a big facility here in the port and the city is working on more cargo operations. Also Mayport may be getting a Nuke carrier or ship soon. I dont know if anything there would fit your criteria but at least you would be warm........

Sorry to hear this Buddy. Right now all you need to do is to worry about getting yourself all healed up. The bike will be there when you are ready. Of course there will be some apprehension but that will pass as you get better. One suggestion is to take an MSF refresher course when you are able to. If you need anything let me know.
-
Hey Dan...you ever think about taking a refresher course from MSF? It just might help you get over some of those jitters.

Try this place: http://www.customcoatings.net/ They did a former members 99 RSV about 5 years ago and it was really nice. At that time I asked for a price quote on the air boxes. It came to roughly $350.00 with an 8 week turnaround time. This was for the complete box, not just the covers. They also did the kick panels inside the lower fairing and the piece below the neck. Not sure if they still do it now, but theyre located in Tallahasee FL. -
When I did it the first time it took me about 45 minutes to get it slid in. After buttoning everything up and installing the rear wheel I then found sitting in my parts dish that little spring that goes into the back of the shaft and acts like a dampener. After some well tossed profanities I took it all apart. This time I was able to slide the shaft back in within 1 minute. Moral of this story: its all in the feel.

Sounds like Ride-On tire sealer. Does about the same thing only much cheaper. About 38.00 for 3 containers. www.ride-on.com
