  1. So, will we see a new upgraded Venture in our future??? http://blog.motorcycle.com/2009/02/26/motorcycle-news/yamaha-to-cut-motorcycle-production-in-2009/
  2. I really wished that I had half of the cars that I have owned in my lifetime. I had a 65 plymouth sport fury with the 383 4bbl. It was stolen while I was rebuilding the chevelle. The car needed some body work but the interior was mint. Lets see...71 skylark, 69, 71 caddy coupe devilles, 71 buick 225, 67 dodge coronet, 71 econoline van with the custom windows, Almost bought a 74 Eldo convertable but passed at the last minute, 75 camaro, 81 chevette (closest thing to a vette ill ever own), 76 grand prix, a real rat ride. 78 aspen station wagon, 77 chevelle S/W. Im sure there were other less memorable cars but my memory is all pooped out.
  3. Yep, what Rod, er, Eck said........
  4. How many miles on that clutch? I would agree that you should first flush out the old fluid with new and see where that takes you. The color should look like a slight amber color. If it looks like Guinness Stout then it is too dirty. The possibility that your pressure plate is weakening is another thing to look at. Id flush it out first then take it for a good ride to see if it slips any more.
  5. Wasnt meant to be evil or mean spirited..just a little levity, thats all. I never want to see bad things happen to others.
  6. Sounds like you should just go the "Skid" route and get that 2nd gen.....
  7. Either way, I still havent had any problems.....
  8. Looks like Rodney Dangerfield in the middle........
  9. Would you happen to have the part #'s for those lights available?
  10. A neat garage is the sign of a sick mind...........
  11. I have been applying a shot of Radio Shack contact cleaner/lube into the ignition switch for years. Havent had a problem yet.
  12. Love that Capri..... My 66, the black one had a base 350 LT-1, 30 over with 11.5:1 compression, 540 lift solid lifter cam, angle plug turbo heads which were factory ported with 2.02 valves, no heat risers and seats were cut for oversize valve springs from the factory. Original Tarantula manifold, Hooker headers, Full modified 750 double pumper, Cloyes roller chain, Lakewood shield, custom built (locally) pressure plate and disc. Custom built radiator with extra colling rows. Moroso posi unit with 5:14 gears. Front coils were compressed and heated 2" lower. Pushed close to 500 hp. Interior had tuck and roll leather seats and side panels. Paint was base black with 3 shades of pearl fade and mirra flake dusted over the black. Yep, painted it myself way back then. Monza headlights rounded out the front. Ran 12.05 at NY national Speedway and was my daily driver.....can you say Sunoco 260 @ $.49 a gallon???? Jeans 66 had a 350-350 with Crane hydraulic cam, Torker manifold and a 750 dbl pumper, headers, 4:11 rear, dynamite sound system and a roll bar. Ran 13.50 at the track. Yep, sure wish I had them now.........
  13. The red one was Jeans and the black/pearl one (mine) used to be that metallic blue color. Cheesy, huh..........

  17. Poked around at this site. Sure has a pretty good selection of gauges available. While I would love to add some gauges to the bike, after pricing it all out it came to over $400.00 for what I would like to have......sigh!!!! http://www.egauges.com/default.asp

  19. HOME DEPOT SCAM A 'heads up' warning for all men who may be regular Home Depot customers. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends. Here's how the scam works: Two very hot 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk.. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to another Home Depot. You agree and they get in the backseat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet. I had my wallet stolen December 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, & 24th 29th. Also January 1st, 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th, 30th, three times last Saturday and very likely again this upcoming weekend. So tell your friends to be careful. P.S. Walmart has wallets on sale $2.99 each
  20. Dan, dont put it off if you need it. I should have done it a long time ago but I needed to build up some leave from work beforehand. They can scrape off the inside of the knee cap to relieve some roughness but once arthritis is in there its in there. Drove the SUV today. It felt a bit stiff but had nowhere near the amount of pain that I had before.
  21. Nothing is safe if someone really wants to hack into ya..............
  22. Maybe you should fire up that grill and make some hot dogs to keep you warm and toasty.......its kind of a blustery day here too.....only 53!!!
  23. Rek, do what George said and check the connector pins in the plug that plugs into the rectifier. Mine were so worn that they barely made contact. And they were corroded. That so called waterproof plug will come apart. Dont ask me how. An electrician friend of mine disasembelled it for me. I believe there are clips that hold it together. Be gentle. If the pins are worn you cannot replace that plug by itself. Its part of the harness...the $300.00 harness! You can try and hang the rectifier off to the side and hook up your DMM to the battery and wiggle the plug to see if you get a different reading. If it varies then id say the pins are worn.
  24. Define normal..........and I am following the docs orders explicitely..taking my pills as required.... Zeus says to send Jeffy...... See above........ No sharsies but will exchange for chrome....... Glad to see your up and about too, Gary. Keep it up Sprocket........ No wheels and im just about off of it. I actually thought of adding a leather pouch to it........studded of course.... Thanks Lewis and Charlene Thanks to everyone for their warm wishes. Im just sure glad that the damage wasnt as bad as I thought. It feels good to be down to the lower end of the pain scale again. Got tired of the pain sucking the life out of me:bawling:. Jean says its the first time in months that I havent made any attempt to kill someone....:fiddle:Im going to take the car out for a drive today to see how it feels. I start therapy on Tuesday. My range of motion still isnt there fully yet. Thanks again.......
