So, I was going through my parts bin and came across these. These are the original mock-up deflectors that Dan had made based on the original style. As a goof I added the diamond plate tape just to see what it would look like, since I was going to toss them anyway. They dont look too bad and I really hate throwing anything away, so, if anyone here wants these before I toss them, let me know. They are made out of the same 6061 material we are using for the deflectors that we are selling but this set was based on the stock design, not the larger set that we have.

Steve S, Dan finished your set this AM but it was too late to get it to the Post Office. :doh:It will ship on Monday. Whaco1956 and Freezy, your sets are being worked on and should be ready in a few days.

Finished up the cabinet today. Neighbor was tossing the file cabinet, which is in great working order and since I have a ton of diamond plate tape left........ Tool box is next!

Erich, while I havent had the chance to ride with a set in cold weather to gauge how much wind is actually blocked and since our wind tunnel for testing purposes was confiscated by the Feds claiming that they own it, I have to depend on two other members who commented that they have felt less buffeting with these deflectors. These deflectors are wider and longer than stock so im sure you would get some increase in protection. Ill add you to the list but it will be a while before we get to you.......

No promises when we are going to start it but im sure Dans arms need a week or two off to recover from all that sanding....LOL. Steve S, Dan didnt like the finish on one of yours so hes going back over it again. There was one tiny scratch that most of us humans wouldnt see but Dan wasnt happy with it. Should be in the mail by Friday......

Paint, you aint alone. I hate those lips. My tractor trailer has a hard enough time with them. When I ride on a highway that has them I usually try to ride on the higher portion of the road as much as possible. I would much rather drop down then try and hit the lip. I do try to use the technique that TX described but sometimes things happen so fast that you cant react in time. Best bet is to just be well aware of whats around you and leave yourself an out.

My quick release seat mod

Lets see: Just about every bit of warranty work the dealer performed I had to go back over. Had the speedo/dash replaced. Got home and the windshield was loose. Took off the chrome strip and there was only 1 bolt holding the shield in place and it was overtightened to where it radial cracked the outer fairing. Took it back and the mechanic said that since I removed the chrome piece myself that I, as in me, must have done it. I raised hell but got nowhere. I then remembered those little breakable tabs on the ends of the fairing were also cracked, which was definetely a warranty issue....free fairing. Another time they left the fuel line off the petcock when they gave me back my "ready" bike. Again, no apologies. Another time they replaced a rear wheel bearing under warranty and left a caliper bolt off. Said they fired the mechanic and 2 months later he was still working there. The dealers dont want you to know anything about your bike. Remember, your an idiot. -

Every time I tried to name it, it just didnt seem like the right name. Cant force a name your not comfy with. As they say...sometimes the shoe fits and sometimes it dont.. I did try Pegasus but only because of Zeus and Xena, my two danes. That didnt feel right either and I see Pegasus also has his named Pegasus. So, no names for me...
