    Glad you two had a great trip. I did the Dragon back in 2004 twice. Dragged my new R/K mufflers too. I dont need the twisties that bad anymore...LOL. Im quite content on A1A here in Florida. Be safe....

    Pull the dreaded battery out and have it load tested. More than likely you dropped a cell and the battery is kaput. Dont ask me how I know this......:mo money: Mine just did the same thing...for the third time this year. Friends dont let friends use Batteries Plus batteries!!! How old is this battery and what brand is it?

    Hope it turns out all right Gerald, for both of you. I never get a flu shot. The one year I did get one about 2 weeks later I caught a raging case of the flu. That was about 15 years ago and I was out sick for 10 days. Swore off of them completely.

    From what I was told as an assoc member I would get full benefits, other than being able to run for any kind of official position for which I have no interest in. Ill see how the meeting goes on Tuesday. The treasurer is a co-worker and he has been talking up the group. Im kinda sorta a loner myself so ill see how I feel after the meeting.

    Deka battery came today as promised. 1st thing I noticed was the heavy duty connection points. Battery was at 12.50 out of the box. Installed it and it fired right up. Signal Dynamics led gauge went to green in a few seconds. DMM showed it at 13.71 at 2000 rpm. Same at 3000 rpm. 12.75 when shut off. 13.70 at idle. WOOHOO....

    Oh, no doubt about that one. I have no plans to leave here at all. Just looking for a local group to go riding with on occasion. I like the towing benefits and after my last few outings with the battery, well, you know. I got a meeting with them on Tuesday night. Ill see how I feel about them then. The local chapter is relatively small here, which is good. Oh, Joe, PICS???? Or have you forgotten??? Thanks for the link. Ill check it out....

    Thinking of joining the GWRRA as an assoc member. A few friends have wings and have hinted at my joining. They seem to have some good benefits. Anyone else here a member and do you have any feedback, pro and con. No, im not getting a wing either so lets nip that one in the bud.

    Those bolt holes will shift slightly out of sync, especially if the steering head bearings were snugged down tighter. I found that the mounting points moved ever so slightly and I also had to clean out the thread by chasing it with a tap and then installing the bolt with some type of lube like a silicone spray. Once you do get them in with the spacer you most likely wont have to bother with it again.

    I just ordered the Deka EXT20L AGM battery which comes pre-charged. I dont trust pre-charging. What is the proper procedure to "season" this battery. I know it was posted in the past but I cant find it. Thanks, Jeff

    Just ordered the Deka battery from Bohannan. Since they are in the same delivery area they said I should get it overnight. The Yuasa from Batteries Plus is still in transit and wont be here for at least another week and the weather here is picture perfect with temps in the 70's. Since it was a warranty claim and I only had to pay a 10.00 difference ill just hang on to it as a spare. Sure do hope this was the problem. Thanks for the replies.     When the original post was made I took it in as a light hearted joke about, well, cults. Yes, it fits the HD clan very well. It is what it is. But we get bashed by other brands as well and most of the time its in a good spirited nature. If someone was going to leave over something that was posted as a joke then I say that person was already considering leaving. I dont know who it was but I have a suspicion that I might know. Im putting up with much mocking from the HD crowd right now at work because my bike broke down on the way to Daytona Sat. I still hear about it when I had to be push started several years ago in front of most of those same HD riders. And I always toss their misfortunes back in their face when they have a problem too. But I also offer to help them, seeing that they want to take it to the dealer and pay those high shop fees......Get over it..its only a light hearted attempt at humor. Anyone remember the post "Herd Mentality" from about 5 years ago..now that was funny too. I thought us "Bikers" were tough guys, not girly girls. To the person who left, please reconsider your decision. If you were here any length of time, you already know that VR is so much more than a bashing organization. This place IS one of the best sites around and you already knew that. If you decide not to return, then I wish you well. But no matter where you go there will always be bashing.

    Yea, were ALL running the SAME cassette player.........1999-2010.... They do look nice though. I would consider one for the 2nd gen, as much as my electrical system has bugged me....

    Theres a place here in Flagler Beach that carries them called Design by Wind. I dont have their phone # anymore but they are in the Daytona area code. Ill try and get it later if your interested. Yea, it was great to see these guys again. Wish they could have stayed a bit longer. Jrichard and ZTOG were the first Venturer members that I met after I bought my 2nd gen. Ztog is in the wind now and Jrichard hung in there........
