  1. That was probably one of my posts. I have been using ride-on for years with no real complaints. However, I strongly recommend that you clean up the rim during tire changes. I went through 3 sets of tires without cleaning the inside of the rims and ride-on does get hard over time and develop a residue. Apparently the bead area developed corrosion and was allowing air leaks. The ride-on did its job and followed the path of the air into the bead area, making the bead area extra dirty. I had to use acetone and a scotchbrite type wheel on a drill to clean out the area. It does work great with a nail in it. I removed a nail from a fairly new Avon at 1000k and at 13k I replaced the tire with no issues in between. I say go for it. Havent seen it in stores but try www.ride-on.com I think at one time they offered us a discount. Its worth a shot.
  2. 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. Never had an issue with it and im very comfy driving it. Coming up on 130k. Jean drives a 2005 Chrysler Sebring Touring convertable and loves it.
  3. Sez who?? It was in the twenties for 2 weeks here..LOL. Actually it will be 44 when I leave for work on Tuesday morning. That may be a better test. So far they seem to work good. I felt way less air on my legs then before. Tuesday will be the real test though. Especially since my uniform pants are a tropical weight poly blend. I guess having these deflectors in combination with the larger fork deflectors and the lower fairing deflectors cut bake the wind dramatically. Add the wider Clearview shield and im as set as im gonna be.
  4. Heading out with the bike to give those new knee deflectors a try. Its a frosty 70 out with the wind gusting to 25 mph. Should be a perfect test......Hope the ice cream dont melt too fast....
  5. Be safe and good luck with the job interview. Besides, whats an arse????
  6. I dont know...everyone at work tells me im a miserable bastard.... Im too big to be described in one word....
  7. I just read your response to the thread in question. I think you took my off the wall sense of humor way out of proportion. I know Eck understood what I meant..I mean, Eck cant wait for me to kick the bucket so he can and swoop in and steal my bike AND my wife. He already publicly said so!! As far as having two bad knees well, lets just say I may have you beat there too. Im one step (was that a pun?) away from a knee replacement so there....So, lighten up a bit..I have some great pain meds laying around if that will help ya..... So stick around a bit more. Maybe one day we will meet up at a Meet and Eat and I can whack you in the bad knee, er, I mean shake your hand!!
  8. So what your saying is that you plan to sucker-punch Eck and watch him go down???? My moneys with Eck...hes been sucker-punched a few times and always rebounded. Only problem is is that he came back with a GoldWing.....
  9. You could always take the 'vert.......
  10. Sounds like he already had it done ol' mini stud!!

  12. Ah, Tom and Taters, im truly sorry to hear this. Sounds like the pup had a full life and was well loved and taken care of. You never forget them....... http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rbowx.gifRainbow Bridge http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rbowx.gif Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...
  13. My 99 leaks oil there from the gasket. Since yours is an 06 its still under warranty. That being said, there is another issue that could cause it to leak from that corner too. The bike calls for adding 3.9 qts of oil during an oil change. Since the bike leans so far over on the sidestand, excess oil pools up in the chamber under the gas tank and can seep out over time. One solution is to add only 3.5 qts of oil when changing your oil. Mine initially leaked when I had full oil capacity but stopped leaking once I went with 3.5 qts. My current leak is from the cover gasket though. You can check your cover gasket by degreasing the area and seeing if it leaks again. You can also snug down the valve cover bolts a little as they may have loosened a little. If its the cover leaking it should be covered under warranty.

  18. Man Who Said He Was 'Massaging' Meat Gets 10 Years S.C. Man Convicted Of Stealing $80 New York Strip POSTED: Friday, January 8, 2010 UPDATED: 4:48 pm EST January 8, 2010 ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- A South Carolina man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for stealing an $80 slab of meat. The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported Thursday that 51-year-old Mark Zachary of Orangeburg received the maximum sentence after jurors found him guilty Wednesday of shoplifting. Prosecutors said the sentence was justified because the Aug. 26 theft from Reid's grocery store in Orangeburg was his ninth offense. Authorities said when a store manager approached Zachary about the missing New York strip and the big bulk under his shirt, he fled, right into the arms of an off-duty police officer. Assistant Solicitor Glenn Justis asked jurors "Where's the beef?" in his opening argument. Zachary testified he was "massaging" the meat, not stealing it.

  20. Buddy, got the deflectors today. Hopefully ill mount them sometime next week. They look great...thanks, Ruffy:smile5:
  21. Glad to hear the surgery went well, Annie. Let yourself heal first and then think about the bike again. Right now any doctor would tell you not to ride again. Give it some time to heal and I bet he softens his stance. Its a set back, not the end of the world. With your positive outlook I bet your up and riding again real soon!!
  22. Continuing prayers!!!!
  23. Good grief.....all you guys are a pretty motley lot........The wimmen are certainley much better looking though.
  24. Jacksonville Family Fears for Life in Tangle with Motorcyclist Taren Reed Ann Butler http://www.firstcoastnews.com/graphics/bullet1.gif Created: 1/4/2010 4:34:04 PM http://www.firstcoastnews.com/graphics/bullet1.gif Updated: 1/4/2010 5:48:24 PM JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Local family members were on the receiving end of a motorcyclist's road rage yesterday evening, but they managed to alert authorities, which led to an arrest, police said. Kenneth Bruce was driving home with his wife and infant in the car around 7:30 p.m. Jan. 3, when the driver of a black Honda motorcycle became aggressive, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report. Police said Paul Rieger Jr., 50, came speeding up behind the Bruce's car, pulled up next to it and tried forcing it off the road. Bruce told police when he stopped at the stop sign at Eastport and Pulaski roads, Rieger began driving circles around the car, eventually stopping in front of their vehicle. Rieger took off his helmet, ran to the driver's side door and tried to open it. When it wouldn't open, he began banging on the window, yelling at Bruce. Bruce's wife called police. They left the scene, driving around Rieger. Once again, Rieger began following them. When they reached the intersection of Faye and Joel roads, Rieger turned and drove away, but not before Bruce was able to get a tag number and description. Police ran the tag, and found that the motorcycle was registered to Rieger at his home. When police arrived there, Rieger refused to answer any questions about the incident and told police to leave. A struggle began between police and Rieger. Police had to Taser Rieger twice. He was eventually arrested and charged with aggravated assault and resisting and officer. ©2010 First Coast News.
