Full motorcycle synthetic oil such as Amsoil or Mobil1 should not hurt the clutch. While I dont have the PCW kit on mine I did replace the clutch with the pretty Barnett pressure plate and carbon fiber discs. Yep, it was pricey..about 180.00 back in 2004. I never knew about PCW then. And I run full synthetics too.

Yep Charlie, its so fast that I have to hold on for dear life......

The Two Bolts (Ignition) Question
1BigDog replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Not doubting you on the EZ out but I tried it and all I did was snap off the bit in the hole. The loctite had a death grip on my bolts. -
The Two Bolts (Ignition) Question
1BigDog replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I used a dremel to cut slots in the round heads then used an impact driver to remove the bolts. Note: they are loctited in place so dont be afraid to whack that impact driver hard. You can get replacement bolts from any hardware store. The bolts that hold the handlebar risers on are the correct size and length. -
I guess it was, er, shot down!!!!

Here's a copy of the email I sent to two different addys at Kuryakyn. Lets see how they will respond. Kuryakyn P.O. Box 339 Somerset, WI 54025 USA 1/28/10 RE: Product # 6235 Replacement part # 606236L About June 2005 I purchased a set of your ISO grips along with a few other Kuryakyn products for my 1999 Yamaha Royal Star Venture touring bike. On 1/25/10 while I was seated on my bike, raising it off its side stand, the left ISO grip cracked off in my hand. The only thing holding it in place was the rubber insert. I called tech support who said that since it is out of warranty all they would do is replace the left grip at my expense. When I went to order it I was charged full retail plus shipping. No one seemed too concerned that something that should be considered a safety item cracked while I was on the bike. I’m just glad that I wasn’t riding two up on the Interstate when this happened While I do realize that there is a warranty period and I did exceed it, something as dangerous as having one of your grips crack apart on a bike only tells me that there is a serious flaw with your product. Tech Support’s lack of concern also alarmed me a bit. Let me assure you that this bike has never been dropped or damaged in any way. I posted my concerns on several other large motorcycle forums and was surprised to find that I was not the only one experiencing this issue. As far as a resolution goes I feel that at the very least your company should have stood behind its product and either covered it under some sort of a goodwill gesture or at least offered it at cost. $47.00 sure was a lot of money to replace what I feel is a defective part. That amount was almost 60% of a new pair of grips. Hoping to hear from your company on this issue. Thank you Jeffrey Koppelman

Late prayers being offered......glad Charlene came through and here praying for more success on the next operation.

Went ahead and ordered a new left grip. 39.00 plus shipping. Cant really argue with them, the warranty ran out 4 years ago. It kinda works out since I had wanted to split the housing to clean the PTT connections for the CB anyway. Now I have an excuse to do so.

Stood the bike up today and the left grip cracked in my hand. Called Kuryakyn customer service. All they did was to offer to sell me a replacement grip along with shipping costs. I have never seen one of these grips crack. Im just curious if anyone here ever had that happed to them.

It was 43 this am when I left for work. I noticed less buffeting on my legs now. Legs were still cold though. Those tropical weight (real thin) uniform pants dont do a thing for cold weather though. And yes, below 50 im freezing......so mock away!!

We can fly Dan in and have him polish all that metal for ya to a bright lustrous shine!!!

heres the place your looking for..... http://www.pcwracing.net/

Dan has begun working on the last sets of the second run. If all goes well there should be another 9 or 10 sets left to complete this run. You will be notified once the sets are ready to ship. Havent forgotten about you ArticusMedicus. Dans PC is up again....... Give it about a week or so. If everyone takes their order that means we will have 5 orders left over. We would still need another 15 orders to start a third run. Hang in there....

Just the way they are angled up I would say they would deflect a good portion of rain coming up from between the upper and lower fairing.
