Very nice!

Replaced the fuel pump points and rerouted the gas filter under the seat. 54k and still had the original filter. Cleaned and added dialectic grease to whatever electrical connections I came across. Changed the oil. Flushed out the overflow tank. Just waiting on the carbs and valve cover gaskets to come Monday.

Today I sent my carbs off to Mike for a rebuilt exchange. I had the dreaded gas leak down into the engine. While I’m there I’ll be replacing the valve cover gaskets and moving the fuel filter under the seat. It never ends…🙄

Adjusted the rear shocks on my Hannigan trike.

Adding a reverse from Hannigan at this stage will cost close to 3k

Tropical storm all day today in Jacksonville. It’s projected to pass us further east off the coast, which is good for us. Heavy rain coming in soon. A friend in Cape Coral had his pool lanai ripped off. No power outage here so far. Be safe!

Started at Adamac Harley on Baymeadows Rd and 95 and ended at Cecil Field on the other side of town. We rode over all 7 major bridges in town.

300 plus bikes, 90 mile police escort and only two Ventures and trikes at that 🤣. It was an awesome event even with the downpours. Jacksonville Sheriffs motor cops did a great job. IMG_5660.MOV IMG_5661.MOV

Yep, these Venture trinkets have all fallen into the unobtanium category. I’m still waiting on a backorder to clear for tail light chrome trim. Going into its 4th month now. That was a great deal.

Has anyone gone from the 130 front tire back to the 150?
1BigDog replied to gorski's topic in Watering Hole
Although some opinions may differ I actually preferred the 150 on my old 99 over the 1000 mile experiment with the 130. While the 130 lightened the steering I never liked how it felt at Highway speeds. The bike felt planted better with the 150. -
Went to a Venture trike a few months ago after close to fifty years on two. I don’t know why I waited so long. You will not regret it.

I think Avon has a trike specific 18” tire for the stratoliner wheel. But it is a 130. I personally will be going with a 150 once the Dunlop 130 needs to be replaced.

No need for thanks Don. I enjoyed our conversations. Helping each other out was one of the foundations that VR was formed on.

It’s the younger demographic driving this trend. As us geezers slip out the market, the younger ones don’t want dressers. Triumph stopped their rocket touring line when they introduced their new, sportier line. In marketing terms, there doesn’t seem to be enough old timers out there to support continuing with a touring line. At least what we were used too.

I believe Ed Williams did

Craig, I can relate. Health and weight issues forced me to give up riding several times. I recently dropped 195 lbs, off cpap and out of the diabetic range I’m now on a trike. While I love the trike I feel that my long distance days are over. I just enjoy it for what it is. At 67 I’ll take whatever riding time I have left.

Except in my case it was Venture, Rocket 3, Harley, Harley, before I landed on a venture trike.

The Barons risers work for me but like it was stated, because of the rake, the inner corners of the risers do push into the ignition cover. On my 05, I cannot make full lock to the left enough to lock the steering. Eventually ill do the Flanders G2 upgrade but the risers are doing their job for now.

My friend Ken went up with me. A few months later we found another 2005 RSV trike down in South Florida and we made the trip, this time for Ken. For those who may remember him, He was known as LetHimRide with a beautifully mural painted 03. Well, lets just say that the tins are migrating over to his trike.......... Wow, sorry to hear this. Jean and myself used to meet up with Ron once a year in Daytona when he came down to vacation with Linda. Probably 10 years since we last saw them. Good people. RIP Ron

Just heard from Dray that a former member, Charlie E-Fishin-C from Canada passed away this morning. I’ll post some details later on as I get them. RIP Charlie 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
