  1. Hit it right on the head Jonsey. Im a TTO and shes a distribution clerk at the L&DC. Her work was moved to the NDC (BMC) and since its a seperate facility she couldnt follow the work. Were in the middle of an excess here and what was once 132 is now down to 34. She was #50 on the excess list. I have 23 years in and she has 9 years so her seniority is low. She was lucky to have weekends off all those years. I hadnt worked a weekend in 16 years. Tour two was eliminated. People with 30 years in were forced to work nights. Only plus for us is double sundays and full nite diff. No disrespect to the members here who have lost their jobs either. Not sniveling, just saying whats going on in my life. Me Oh me please....I'll shoot you, and I wont miss, Me, Me, Me let me do it! Mighty eager there Bradley....I double dog dare ya to come over here and do it.....
  2. Well, I did it...gave up my weekends for my wife. Her position was eliminated and she had to bid another position. We both had Sun/Mon off. She got stuck with tue/wed off. Thursday I bid a new position and I had a nice selection of weekends off. I took a tue/wed position to match hers. 6 pm to 230 am. There goes some planned Meet and Eats. Im still having the one on May 8th here with Blackjack, so.......... Please tell me I did it for love............

While perusing through the various links shown above I noticed that Partsnation had some pretty decent prices, however, using the rear brake disc as a guinea pig I found the prices varied a fair amount apart. Low price was about 184.00 while the high price was 197.00, yet those with lower priced "hard parts" seemed to have slightly higher softer parts like seals and such. When I ordered my new ignition switch last summer I found it at seattle yamaha for 148.00 while parts shark had it for 124.00. Bottom line, it pays to look around from site to site. The prices can vary widely. While I know loyalty plays a part sometimes the price difference is sufficient enough to look at another site. Personally I float between seattle and partshark for my oem parts.
  4. The dealer might be able to produce a key code for you based on the vin# Years ago a Honda dealer did just that for my old 750SS.
  5. Id really hesitate to remove that switch while its under warranty. Dealer may void it since you have to destroy those tamper proof bolts.
  6. Shock oil will have a "hydraulic oil" smell.

Grips are not a wear item. They help control the bike. As such they should not just break apart. I do understand your company not knowing whether I actually did or did not do any damage to them prior to this issue. I can assure you that no damage was done prior to the break. And yes, while I do appreciate the offering of a single grip, to do so at full retail for what I consider a product failure was not in the best interest of good customer relations. I did receive my grip and according to the packing list there should have been a spacer and a tube of glue included. These items were not included. I had to drive 15 miles round trip to get a tube of glue and a section of PVC at a cost of 8.00 additional to finish the repair. I did call tech support on the missing items and their recommendations were to just go out and buy a tube of glue. Lack of concern for the customer nowadays seems to be the norm. Ill have to seriously reconsider buying any future Kuryakyn products and will post this on my club forum as well. Sorry, I dont have a better answer for you as well Jeff

  19. My preference is Avons but I have heard that the Michelins are pretty good too. Stay away from the Metzeler 880's though unless you like rubber falling off of them.
  20. Unless something slipped by me then that bike should have a 5 year warranty. Maybe some others with the RSTD will chime in here.
  21. According to their spec sheet they claim that this bike does NOT have a warranty and they are offering an extended warranty for extra cost ill assume. All Royal Stars have a 5 year transferrable warranty. You may want to look into this before you make an offer.
  22. Check these guys out for lighting. I used them a few times and they have great customer service. http://chromeglow.com/ I installed the white ElectroPods on my bike last spring. Biggest thing was routing the wires so they are hidden. I also used snap connectors available from chrome glow too. These have 2 to 4 levers that can be snapped to lock the wire in place and raised to remove the wire(s). I also ordered the windshield lighting kit from them but since im using a Clearview shield the light housing would not fit so I ended double sided taping it under the driving light bracket so it lights up the top of the front fender.
  23. Left grip showed up today. They forgot to pack the spacer and tube of glue, which was listed on the invoice. Called them up and all they suggested was that I buy some Super Glue Gel myself and dig out the old spacer from the broken grip. I bit my tongue and hung up. It just wasnt worth it. Got too much other stuff going on right now to worry about this. I realize its not a biggie but it was just aggravating. And no, I didnt expect them to kiss my arse for the business but a little more nicer customer service would have been nice. Oh, yea, they never bothered to respond to my e-mail either..... On a positive note: I managed to take apart my PTT switch which stopped working about 2 years ago....it now works!! (now all I need are some headsets)
  24. They give you a spacer that you have to cut to make up the difference inside. It looks like it broke where that spacer meets the bar. Not a very good design obviously. Not in a milion years would I have thought about this grip cracking like it did.
