Way to go Bro....I knew you could pull it off. Im real happy for you and Lonna. I know just how down you have been these last few months. I heard it in your voice. Hope this relieves some of the stress you have been under. It was great to see how all of those members in Texas were able to help you two along. My hats off to all of you in Texas.

I understand what your saying. I deal with many internet suppliers and have had mostly good experiences with them. I did an internet order with JP several years ago and had problems with their customer service then. I did purchase stuff from their Daytona store several times. I went back to their internet site and was disappointed once again. I spoke with no less then 3 customer service reps with the same lackluster responses. Sorry, but a business the size of JP serving a very specific market should have better customer service. I was very nice with them on the phone, no cussing or put downs but this last call I stated my position a little more firmly. When would they have decided to refund my money..next year? If I didnt call them this AM it would still be sitting in their account, not mine.

In todays upside down economy at a time when major corporations are taking bailouts and filing for bankruptcy, laying off thousands of people who in turn might just lose their credit standing as well as their dignity I cannot see how ones credit rating should affect their ability to get hired to do non sensitive work. I can see checking out the credit rating of someone who handles major cash for a company, but a janitor? No way. Way too many peoples credit rating went downhill as a result of losing their jobs/houses/etc. I guess the next discrimnatory hiring requirement would be to check your grade school report cards and reject you if you ever got a C in home economics class.....

Prayers sent for a successful re-set. Now Taters, maybe you should go down to a one scoop DQ cone from a three scoop cone. Less weight on the wrist ya know......

Last week I posted About poor customer service from JP Cycles concerning an order delay. I cancelled the order last Wed and asked them to return the payment to my PayPal acct. I was told it would take 3-4 days. Checked PayPal acct today and no money was sent. Called JP and was told it takes a while. I asked her when it was processed for return and she got quiet for a minute and said it was processed this AM! So, why did your company sit on my refund all week when it should have been returned right away? It was bad enough to be mislead and delayed on my order. She said that PayPal dont do transactions over the weekend. Told her I used PayPal on weekends all the time and that was a lame excuse. Told them I was finished with them for good. Got into my e-mail and guess what.... there was a confirmation email stating the refund is being processed. It was time stamped at the time I was talking to her. To recap: Delay my parts that was supposed to be in stock then drag their feet on the refund..........One sure way to lose anyones business. They sure lost mine!

Metzeler is very good at finding "ways out" of a poorly made tire.

Not so much in order but all facing the same direction. To clarify: the steel plates are stamped. One side will have a sharp edge and the other side will be somewhat rounded. Not bent around but a smoother side. The steel plates all have to be lined up with either the sharp side or the rounded side all facing the same way. And yes...Earl is a good guy to deal with.

Ride Like a Pro.. on a Venture?
1BigDog replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I just took the Experienced Rider course with the GWRRA assc. I was the only non wing there. But what I think Seaking may have had in the back of his mind was actually dropping the bike and doing all sorts of expensive damage. Police training uses old, droppable bikes, not nice shiny new ones. I cringed at the tight turns and I know that thought crossed my mind quite a bit on the course. But practice does make perfect. And that "fear factor" needs to be gone....... -
Thanks Al Gore for inventing the internet. (its a joke, not political). That being said, the bulb in my DLP tv blew this AM. It was 2 1/2 years old. Went to the recommended Toshiba site and the cost was about 230 bucks. Did a web search and found a whole spectrum of prices and quality of parts. Some prices were 280.00 to as low as 99.00. After doing much searching and reading the company reviews and warranties I settled on www.advancedlamps.com which offered a 6 month vs 3 month warranty and a new, not refurbished product like some other companies. Total cost with shipping was 129.00. Sometimes it pays to do a little "searching".

Does your side bags "sigh" ???
1BigDog replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hmmm, only sound I ever hear from the bike is a low moan when I sit on it. Kinda sounds like someone out of breath moaning "get offffff, get offffff".... -
Glad they worked out for you, Deb. It was my pleasure.......Enjoy your vacation

I have dealt with various bike part suppliers over the years and for the most part they have been pretty good people to deal with. Most would bend over backward to help you out. Flatout (Part shark) even expressed me a part right before I went on vacation and only charged me the standard shipping rate. Competition accessories is always outstanding. I have ordered factory parts from them years ago when they sold them and mostly apparel and shoes from them now. Tires too! Chromeglow Signal Dynamics and Custom Dynamics are other good companies I have dealt with. Our own member vendors have also been right on the money. Metzeler customer service bites the big one, as does Kuryakyn. Now to my latest problem child...JP Cycles! I sometimes bought stuff from their store in Daytona from time to time. Not fantastic prices but they had it on hand. However, a few years ago I had an issue with their internet ordering and after some back and forth they finally resolved the issue after I threatened to post the issue on this site. Stupid me...This time I went ahead and ordered a SS clutch and rear brake line from them. Price was reasonable. Prior to placing my order I had called them to physically eyeball the parts to make sure one end had a banjo and the other a straight connection. They called me back and said the warehouse pulled both parts and assured me that they were the correct lines. I immediately placed the order. A few hours later I get a confirmation email that said the clutch line was not in stock. Hmmmm, didnt they just eyeball it for me? Said it should be maybe 3-5 days. Well, 10 days goes by and no email. Contacted them again by email and asked them for a delivery date. They replied that they could not provide one. I emailed them back that I was surprised that a company the size of JP cant get a date from their own supplier. They replied that their supplier dont give times. I said so I just wait in limbo until someone there decides to send one out? All she could do was apologize. Told her to refund me my money. Not a good way to do business. They made absolutely no effort to even try to correct this problem nor did they seem too concerned to keep me as a customer. No, I didnt even mention posting on this site. Last time it got me a full refund. This time since the part wasnt even available it would have served me no purpose. But I just thought id pass this onto you all. Let the buyer beware!! OK, im finished....just needed to get this off of my chest.

Thats cause your passing 1st gens 99% of the time now....... Look under the left side of the inner fairing and you should see an on off button there as well as a power plug. That button should work your passing lights. Also, if you see them off intermitentely and there is a relay wired in, which there should be, that relay and switch may need replacing. Use a toggle switch rather than the original push button switch.

Whatever part # fits your current application, H3, H4, 9004, 9005, etc. There is an application list in there as well.

I received an email from sparkplugs.com, a place where I have been buying my plugs at for years. They have a promotion for new types of bulbs that look pretty cool and are offering a 20% discount as an introductory offer. Just type in "NLHALO20" when checking out for it to apply. http://halolightstore.com/default.asp

Looks pretty cool there Glenn. A nice starburst pinstripe on them would really set them off!! I have you down on a list on my desk, however it seems that interest has dwindled. We still need 15 more orders to make another run.
