  1. Curious, just how much did it turn? Check again and see if the chrome "cage" moved slightly while the rubber inserts held tight. If so, thats somewhat normal. If the rubber is turning as well, you need to remove the grip off of the throttle, clean the area up and apply SuperGlue Gel to the plastic throttle housing. Then, making sure the grip is lined up the same as the other grip and slide the grip back on. Apply pressure for a few minutes to set the glue and you should be good. You only get one shot at this so "measure twice, cut once". Goo Gone is a great product for removing glued on stuff, but very messy. Make sure you cover your bike well with plastic before using this stuff. Now would also be a good time to inspect both grips for metal cracks between the rubber. If cracked, toss and replace with a better grip. Non-Kuryakyn is preferred.....but thats another story......
  2. Sounds like they are trying to discourage bikers from staying there at the Oberlin.
  3. Prayers being sent for Paul and Toni. Sure do hope all of those surgeries and soon and that infection clears up real soon.
  4. Welcome back Annie!!! get well soon. Just dealing with Mini is torture here. We need another character to keep her in line..........
  5. I have the Deka from Bohannan in my bike. Good quality heavy duty battery. Josh at Bohannan is top notch. Cant speak for corrosives crossing the border though. Im pretty sure it would have to travel UPS Ground service.
  6. Skid on in here....free shipping over $100.00. They're part of Competition Accessories. I ordered my Avons from them and they were delivered in 3 days. I have been dealing with CA for years and always had good service. http://www.tireexpress.com/
  7. So George, did removing the fairing help make the swingarm removal any easier???? :duck::rotfl::rotfl:
  8. Welcome home, Mike!!!!
  9. You meet the nicest people on a Honda.........or do you????
  10. 5th gear is an overdrive gear......
  11. If your an auto tech then your already mechanically inclined, right? Go pick yourself up a service manual or download one and have at it. The tech section here has info on greasing your splines and rear wheel hub as well. If your queasy about it find a well respected shop (not your friends place) and let them do it. As for myself, I would really love to just take mine to a shop and let them do it, but nobody will treat my bike better than me.....
  12. PayPal sent.....
  13. Did the same thing as sling.......
  14. 36 lbs on a front tire seems kinda low anyway.
  15. Erich, im guessing that lowered fork caused most of your problems. The deflectors have been designed to clear the lower bolts on the fender rails. The holes on top are also elongated to space them wider for better wind deflection and more clearance. The earlier RSV's had the bolt heads sticking out while later ones had a recessed bolt head. I always ran at least 5 lbs pressure in my forks and still bottomed out on that bolt when going over larger bumps, which caused my old, stock clear ones to chip at that point. Lowered forks with no air in them could have caused that problem. How bad are those scratches and are they on the front or rear of the deflectors?

A friend of mine traded in his Yamaha 1300 for one of those Hondas and he loves it. He had both knees replaced this past year and the new Honda was better ergonomically for him. He didnt get the ABS model but he loves it anyway. He claims it handles great. Most magazine write-ups gave it a pretty good mark too. Go for it....
  17. Pete, we priced having them chromed and it was way cost prohibitive. For a single set it was 160 bucks and for a 5 set minimum it was still 135 bucks. That would have put the cost well over 200 for a set. This price was from a premium plater too, Space Coast Plating, who does custom cars and bikes. Believe me, plating the parts sure would have saved a ton of labor. StrayCatt had his powdercoated. Maybe he will chime in here on its durability.
  18. Ken, great idea. Looks like thats what ill do for my RSV.
  19. OK Squid, you plan on having a high end restaurant sometime??? Henkels are a great quality knife. That being said I got a knife set from that Ronco Showtime knife commercial about 6 years ago and they are doing quite well. Heres the link. Cant beat them for the price... http://roncocutlery.com/?linkId=2349&source=yahoo&OVRAW=ronco%20showtime%20knives&OVKEY=showtime%20knife&OVMTC=advanced&OVADID=52077684011&OVKWID=330163542011&OVCAMPGID=12226000511&OVADGRPID=20825047899&OVNDID=ND1
  20. Larry, put me in for a set too. Let me know when to send the money.
  21. [quote=BIG TOM; I'm not complaining, its just the maid outfit she makes me wear...PINK is not my color and those heals.... If pink aint your color I have an extra set of vivid purple stretchies you can have, along with a frilly tutu and bright yellow vinyl pumps. Glad to hear Taters is coming along.
  22. You obviously never had 2 sets of Metzeler tires delaminate on you. And then have their customer service? dept blame you for abusing the tires. Also, according to Metz, your running underinflated too. Avons have proven, at least to me, to be one of the best I have had on this bike. Now I will say this: the 880's are a great handling wet/dry tire and I did love them, right up to the point of losing chunks of rubber from 2 different rear tires. And its not just me. Plenty others here have had that same experience. All I can say is to keep a close eye on that rear tire. I had 3 sets and lost rubber from 2 of them, so beware. Just sayin... :smile5:
  23. Yep, Honda Moly 60. You can get it at any Honda or Acura parts dept. Usually cheaper then a Honda bike dealer. If you do get some, wear some disposable rubber/nitrile gloves, kind of like the ones the Dr uses with a weird grin on his face when your getting an exam. That grease will be really hard to get off skin.
  24. With an oil filter change just add 3.5 qts of oil and you should be set. Manual calls for 3.9 qts but as most of us have found out due to the angle of the sidestand lean the oil tends to pool up and out of the vent hoses. 3.5 qts seems to do the trick and should put you right at the 1/2 way point on the little window.
  25. Ive had my Clearview, non tinted with vent since 2005 or early 2006. It still looks new. No dulling of the shield. The vent is a must in my opinion. I have heard good things about the F4 too. Now, does the F4 lean back more like the Clearview or does it sit more straight like the stock shield? The rearward lean was one of the things I liked about the Clearview shield. I dont think you would go wrong with either shield but my preference would be the Clearview w/vent. Just like to add that Clearview jumped at the chance to donate a windshield for one of our project bikes a few years ago. No hesitation on their part. They are first class all the way.
