Looks good Art.....guess we will see it in person next week, huh?
-
Yep, its a regular auto filter. Any auto parts stores should carry it. Its slightly narrower that the stock Venture filter and it slips into the opening nicely. Makes future changes much easier. Ive been running this filter for 5 years now. No, not the same filter...I have changed it several times....

When I die I prefer to go like my grandfather, peacefully in his sleep......not kicking and screaming like the passengers in his car......

:smile5:There is also www.partshark.com in Indiana for Yamaha parts and accessories. Seattle Yamaha is another source I use for parts. Another good place for stuff is www.competitionaccessories.com

Understand completely....there comes a point where throwing money into anything to keep it running makes it worth getting rid of. Some things are like bottomless pits. Hope it all works out for you real soon.

Hope the doc gets his screws tightened right this time........If he messes up again we'll put the screws to him......

Still waiting for my HID to arrive. According to the company it shipped last Monday from Canada. Should be here real soon.... -
Only problem I see with that bracket is the way it blocks the riser bolts. Looks like the bracket would have to be dropped in order to access those bolts. I half thought of removing the cruise control button since I never use it anyway and mounting it in there. And I also have a personal metal man at my disposal too...LOL. Ill post something once I figure out a mounting place I can live with.

The Clearview shield is thicker and wider than stock. It also angles back more giving it a more streamlined appearance.

Rick, just got the volt gauge Sat. Looking around the dash area I dont think mounting it where you said is a good idea. I dont think its flush enough. I was thinking of mounting it on the left side of the fairing just to the left of the speaker. Plenty of room inside and its not really in your face. The optional bezel should seat nicely there. I probably wont do anything to it this week. Got plenty of home chores to finish up first. Once the HID headlight gets here then ill go ahead and mount up everything. Still not too sure for a location for the Argus Battery bug. I may have to fabricate a mount for it.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you but......its a Purolator filter # F100 24
-
I have the part # somewhere in the garage..ill post it later on for you. I think its a ford filter.

I use an automotive type filter in mine. I bought one which was slightly thinner than the stock one so I dont have the hassle of getting it out of the holder. I just pull up on the fuel line and un-do the clamps. Makes replacement much easier.

From personal experience stay away from the 880's from Metzeler. Too many instances of them losing chunks of rubber from the rear tire. Avon Venoms, E-3's or Michelin Commander tires are all decent choices.

Just got the battery bug today. It looks fairly large for install on the dash. Ill play around with it tomorrow and see where it may fit without looking out of place. Will do. Still havent received it yet. I may try and fabricate some kind of housing for it somewhere on the fairing. I too dont want to punch any holes in it.

Went to the dealer to replace my nearly empty can of Plexus. A can that I paid about 9 bucks for last year. Shock set in as the dealer said it was now 17.99 a can!!!! 22.00 msrp price!! No way........Maybe I should have invested my money in their company...sheesh.

I just ordered one from Canadiancruiser.com..........:mo money::bawling: -
What he said^.....I also used a mityvac on mine.

I used sparkplugs.com for the irridium plugs. However, since I have not seen any substantial improvement I bought the NGK DPR8EA-9 at O'riellys auto parts for 1.99.

And the DOT 5.1 has an even higher boiling point. I just flushed out my clutch and brake system with 5.1 from Motul.
-
Maybe I should order it to go with the nice clean hole in my head...LOL:smile5: I havent received it yet. Once I see its size and how it looks then ill figure out a location for it.
