Ive been using this stuff since Plexus decided to commit Felony robbery on my person. I had to order it online since none of the shops here in town carry it. Good stuff. Also a good company to deal with. Product was here within a few days. I already ordered other stuff from them with the same speedy service. Check them out: http://classic-motoring.stores.yahoo.net/allkleer.html

Prayers sent.....hope he pulls through this soon.

So can I toss a cheesecake at Brad??? Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes. We all knew that she had about 6 months to go no matter what. Once she said that she saw dad I knew she was ready. Just life I guess.............

Just to let my other family know and to ask for their prayers for her......my mother passed on Monday from a variety of complications. She finally had a heart attack and signed a DNR. She passed several hours later. The day before she had said that she had seen dad waiting for her. Guess I knew this was coming but you never really expect it to happen.......

Thinking about the clutch.
1BigDog replied to hig4s's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
149.00 is a good price if it includes the carbon fiber discs as well. My cost was about 200.00 6 years ago, with the discs. If you plan on keeping the bike a while then the Barnett set-up is the way to go. I also made my own gasket from a sheet of rubber impregnated gasket material from Pep boys for 4 bucks vs 13 bucks for the factory gasket. Call me if you need any more info. -

At 25k my clutch started slipping. This was back in 2004 and I had never heard of PCW. While it was a bit pricey I used the Barnett set-up along with their carbon fiber discs. The whole set-up set me back about 200 bucks then but 6 years and 40k later I have had no issues. Clutch release isnt a problem. Just a slightly harder pull, barely noticable. IM quite happy with my set-up. But thats just me..... -
You shouldnt get any squeal with the EBC pads, unlike the stock pads, which sound like Eck being goosed by Squidley on a hot summer evening.......

While I also agree on the master cyl needing a rebuild your brake line may also be deteriorating on the inside. Small flaps of rubber will bend in there with the flow and cause your fluid to not return, kinda like a check valve. After sitting for a while the flaps may go back to their old position and then release the brake. This happened on an old VW that I had and it drove me nuts. A VW mechanic suggested I change the rear rubber lines and it worked like a charm. Try adding an SS line on the rear and see what happens. That line is probably the original and its now 26 years old. If you do go ahead with the rear master rebuild, make sure you blow out all the openings with compressed air. There is one teeny orfice in there that can really ruin your efforts if it remains clogged.

The improvement with 5.1 is its higher boiling point, otherwise its just about the same as any other DOT fluid. 3 has a low boiling point, 4 has a higher point and 5.1 has an even higher boiling point. I chose Motul 5.1 when I replaced my front calipers and rebuilt my rear caliper along with adding SS lines all around. Clutch was flushed with 5.1 too. ON really hot days it seemed to cause harder shifting, especially when sitting in traffic. Seems to be better with the 5.1 but im also sure that the addition of the SS lines helped that along as well.

The ride up to Amelia Island along Heckscher Drive is another beautiful ride. You can ride 16 down to US-1, make a left and ride that to 9A North. Get off at 1st exit over the Dames Point Bridge and go right to Amelia Island. Very scenic and coastal. Watch your speed limit there. Its 35 by Amelia and enforced. Ride up into Fernindina Beach downtown area for some great ice cream.

Petcock doesn't shutoff flow
1BigDog replied to RandyR's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Petcocks will wear out. Its possible the previous owner shut it off daily, thus wearing it out sooner. My 99's petcock started leaking in 03. It was replaced under warranty and it still works. Just replace it for peace of mind. -

http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rbowx.gifRainbow Bridge http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rbowx.gif Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown... -

Art, dont give up on the bike yet. Both my knees are shot and they both need to be replaced. I have good days and bad days. On the good days im just glad the bike is there to ride. On the bad days, well, I just wait till the good days come around again. Once you recover from surgery all will be well again.

The rubber cushions wont mount unless you do some mods to the risers or the rubber themselves. Some of us have come up with different ideas. I drilled and tapped a hole on the side of the risers and used a 1" piece of pipe bolted to the side of the riser to mimic a handlebar, thus setting the rubber in its stock location.

So, maybe you can find a sexy, motorcycle riding, boat owning, endowed, as well as an excellent cook pygmy of your own. Think of it.....she can ride your rear seat and if she opens her yap too much then you can stuff her in the trunk, with room for the spare helmet too....
