If I remember from when I had my 83 dinosoar the diaphragms from the 83-85 were thin material and the replacement diaphragms were made from thicker stuff. Mine ran like garbage until I replaced the diaphragms. Look for bent/damaged needles and see if the plastic tube/slider is heavily scored. Fuel filter is a bear to replace. Its under the tank. I rerouted the filter to come out under the left side of the frame by the swingarm. Made future filter swaps much easier.

You know...last time we did something like this I lost my fantasy girl (Virginia), we danced to some whimsical music in a forest somewhere in Tennessee with Squidley doing some type of chant and AtlantaDragonslayer chasing after Yama Mama in a tutu, we all headed down to Daytona, which we never made it to....and im still trying to find my way home again. So, I just dont know....you know??- 33 replies

:rotfl::rotfl: Now thats just plain funny....... But seriously.....Like someone said, its in the eye of the beholder. I thought my stock bulb with the driving lights on was sufficient. I then went to the Silverstar (non-ultra) and thought "WOW", nice! I followed that with the HID light....And for a night riding near blind as a bat it lights up the road just great for ME. I dont need no test to tell me which one I prefer. HID hands down....

A friend of mine moved to this retirement community called The Villages near Ocala FL. I had dinner with him a few weeks ago and I noticed most of the homes had 2 car garages plus a half garage. As I was driving to his house I noticed some golf carts on the roadways. As I pulled into his driveway he had 2 Yamaha golf carts in his garage. He took us to dinner in the town square and it was like daytona bike week except everyone had golf carts...hundreds of golf carts all over the place!! All these geezers in tricked out carts. Saw some carts that cost almost 30k!! I need to retire that well!!!

Glad to hear you fixed it. "Now your thinking with your dipstick, Jimmy!!":smile5: -
Monty, they advertise name brand quality parts. When I delivered freight back in the 70's and 80's I had a few auto parts wharehouses on my route. I was able to purchase parts from them at their costs. The mark-up that the parts store would charge was pretty much 50-70% above what I paid.

Hang in there Ben! Prayers sent...

I have recommended this site to a few friends who have raved about the prices compared to buying locally. Today I had the chance to try them out. I needed to replace the rear door window regulator on my SUV. Prices ranged from 182.00 to 250.00 depending on the location. I looked up www.rockauto.com and found my part for 141.00 shipped. Ordered it this AM and was shipped today!! Most of their prices are heavily discounted compared to suppliers like Advance auto and Auto Zone.If you do your own work you owe it to yourselves to check this place out. A friend saved major bucks on front end parts for his Camry by using Rock Auto.

does anyone use wetter than wet in there bikes?
1BigDog replied to waterbug's topic in Watering Hole
Ive been using Water Wetter from Redline for years. While I never stuck my finger in the water to see if there is a difference, it did seem to cool things down slightly. Rider magazine had recommended it years ago and I have used it ever since. -
Well, after doing much research and considering all your responses and suggestions I decided to go ahead with the 265WT from Beach Camera for 158 bucks. It had plenty of positive responses and for what I would need it for it suits me just fine. It probably has more bells and whistles then ill ever even need. I have dealt with Beach Camera several times before and always had a good experience. Heck, im not a techie..my daughter wanted to get me the new iphone and I told her no...all I need is a basic cell phone with camera feature.

Once you install EBC HH pads on the front the squeal will disappear. A1A is one of my favorite rides. We rode it to Daytona Friday for lunch and Sat up to Fernandina Beach for some Ice Cream.

Fram was one of the best filter mfg's out there until Allied Signal took them over. Now theyre crap.
-
Footsie, replace that Fram filter with another brand...FAST! A while ago someone cut in half a number of filters and the Fram was one of the worst constructed filters in the group. From what I remembered of the pics then the Fram was made of what looked like glued together pieces of cardboard. The Wal-Mart Super-Tec was among one of the better ones at half the price. In fact I have used the ST filter for the last 6 years. Not going to debate the Fram filter...just repeating what was reported at that time. I used the Fram until I saw those pics.

Basically we refrain from hot topic issues like politics and religion. Porn is out too since were a PG site. Nothing divides a group faster then those issues.

Ya know...after the ChickenHawk thing I solicited one of the moderators to change your name to "SquiddyPoo" but he wussed out, which forced me to remove him from my will. That being said, if I had known you had "Cupcake" tendencies I most certainly never would have shared space in the hot tub with you.........(shiver)...(brrrr)...
