  1. OK, so its a Chrysler Sebring Touring convertable........ I picked it up on Friday and man, the car is great. The previous owner bought it new and added almost all the toys available for it. Color is Satin Jade Pearl with a black cloth top and tan leather and suede heated seats!! 200 HP V-6 I just joined a Sebring club, www.sebringclub.net , and guess what..they refer to the Sebring Convertables as 1st gens, 2nd gens and now, 3rd gens. Weird, huh? Cant believe the coincidence. 1996-2000: 1st gens 2001-2007: 2nd gens 2008: 3rd gens
  2. Its a 2004 so it still should be under warranty. Just tell the dealer that its been leaking air. How?, you just dont know...
  3. Thanks Dave..will do.
  4. I meant for squidly
  5. May I suggest a nice lavender color.........
  6. And you actually believed us????:rotf:
  7. I usually change my final drive oil every oil change. Its only a small amount of oil and it only takes a few minutes to do. Cheap insurance.
  8. Wow, and I thought I would have received a few death threats...LOL:rotf: Im thinking the weekend of MLK holiday, which I think is the 12th-14th. Ill have a 3 day weekend then. I plan on having all the wood delivered by Jan 1st and all the batter boards and level lines up before we start. I may even have the corner posts in too. Just let me know which weekend is good for you all.........And yes, the grill will be fired up and waiting too......Ahem, I do make a mean Mississippi Mud cake too....
  9. I just took down a pool in my back yard and I now have a huge empty space. After much thought we decided to extend out current wood deck and add a hot tub. Soooooo, since im much older and more feeble than when I was in my youth, I was wondering...... Does anyone want to have a good old fashioned deck raising party/meet and eat here?? Or am I just beating a dead horse?? The ground area will be prepped and batter boards up before this project gets underway. It's not a fancy deck, just a ground level 14X22 deck, built off of the old deck. Got some white gravel that also needs to be moved around the yard too. Im looking to do this sometime in January. Food will be plentiful.........beverages too...... Any takers??
  10. I sent Dathan an e-mail. If it dont work out ill let you know, Squidly...thanks
  11. I remember someone here selling the lowering bracket for 2nd gen passing lights for easier fairing removal. Now I cant seem to find any info on them. Are they still being sold, or does anyone have one they want to sell?
  12. Yep, been using a Tender for years. Its a new battery. I put a new one in back in July, when that failed the dealer swapped it out since we felt it had a weak call but the new one failed too, which is where this whole mess started.... Zeus says he will settle for a mini snack too.....
  13. I was just hashing this out with Muffinman and were thinking along those lines too Condor. What Im going to do is to rewire the whole driving light system, which is 8 years old, replace the switch and relay, and give it a try. It only goes to red when the driving lights are on and there may be a bad wire in there or possibly a ground. Im still thinking that the LED gauge is overly sensitive too. By the time im finished i'll have a new bike practically......sheesh. By the way...thanks for all the help and advice as I wend my way through this mess.....
  14. HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY EVERYONE!!
  15. Spoke to Squid and I located those wires. They were packed with dirty grease. I cleaned the connections up real good with contact cleaner, put some dialectric grease on the connections and put it all back together. It appears that the problem is still there. Now, getting back to the LED gauge: I went back and checked the charging volts with the DMM and it was fine. 13.75 at idle. When I turned on a turn signal or brake light it dropped to 13.70 and the light went to yellow, which is normal. It went to green when the light source was off. Now the biggie: When I hit the driving lights it dropped from 13.75 to 13.48 and the light went to red. Turned off the lights and it immediately went to green and the voltage returned to 13.75. Now im wondering if I have a short in the driving lights. So, my next question is: Is a .27 drop in voltage normal for driving lights? From what I have been reading I believe that anything more than .03-.04 is too much of a drop. It sure is a learning experience.
  16. Happy Thanksgiving over there Jim. Be safe and thanks for everything.
  17. Hey Squid, can I give ya a call??
  18. Jeff, by the stator connector im guessing you mean where it connects to the rectifier. That is a plug in, not a bolt on connector. Im going to see if I can find a shop in the area that specializes in this and comes highly recommended first. At this point im getting pretty pissed at this. Either way, you know the lights always on for ya!
  19. Yep, i have to agree with ya....grrrrrrrrr
  20. Rich, glad to see your in one piece. Get well soon and welcome back.
  21. A little history: As most of you know, I have been trying to track down an electrical charging glitch which rears its ugly head at the worst times. I have replaced the side stand relay (not the sidestand switch), the rectifier/regulator, performed voltage drop tests and all was well. I then installed a "Heads-Up L.E.D. Voltage Monitor from Signal Dynamics Corp, which is micropressor controlled. It flashes red, green or yellow to tell you just what your charging system is doing, 50,000 times per second. This thing is so sensitive that the charging light goes from full green to yellow when any light is applied such as brakes or turn signals. It seems to have the worst draw when I turn on my driving lights, which run through a relay. Tonight we rode to a restaurant where the red light came on and stayed on for several minutes, indicating a failing charge condition. We never shut the bike down and rode home. A few minutes later the bike showed normal charging again, so the problem seems very intermittent. When I got home the bike fired up perfectly several times. it also started right up after 2 hours of sitting. Now to my question(s): Has anyone here ever installed this gauge on their bike? Im thinking that this gauge is really super sensitive and the variations that I have experienced are normal. SO, if you have installed this item on your bike, how has it responded? Was the green steady, or did it fluctuate whenever brakes or signals were used? Driving lights? etc?
  22. Good luck with the electrical trace. I've been pulling my hair out trying to track down a drain on my battery too. Tomorrow i'll try and figure out how to do a voltage drop test on all the connections with my digital multi meter.
  23. Ive been dealing with Seattle Yamaha for my last 2 purchases and I highly recommend them. Even with shipping, they stiull came in way less than my local dealer.
  24. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason why rates fluctuate so much in different parts of the country. I mean, several years ago Allstate, whom ive used for over 20 years, wanted 1000.00 for 6 months coverage. My agent explained on the side that Allstate really didnt want to cover bikes but if someone wanted to pay that price..well, you get the picture. Now I guess bikes are a big thing now and theyre jumping on the bandwagon. And the prices she quoted me were excellent compared to Geico and Progressive. Go figure......
  25. I used Progressive when I first bought my RSV, within 3 years my rates went up almost 200%. I went with Geico and my rates dropped drastically. This last year I even had it decrease even more for the same coverage. I use Allstate for all my vehicles and home. My agent called me recently to push bike insurance. The price for the year was actually less than Geico! So, looks like I'll be an Allstate baby come Janurary..
