Odometer counting too fast

I believe your bike is reading kilometers not miles. If you went 50 miles that would be around 90+ . kilometers Hope this helps -
Don I know the feeling. I sold my 2006 yamaha star Venture in 2016 to a guy in Michigan and met him half way to turn it over , was very hard to see it go after 68000 miles we put on her but my health and age said it had to go. I did convert my 1986 Venture to a trike in 2005 and that is what we are riding now and I feel much safer on it then two wheels. Just sucks getting old and having to give up something that we all love to do. We still ride but not even half the miles we did before and Yes all the big long trips have come to a end, but we all have the great memories from all the rides and all the friends we made.

Check your steering head bearings . If they are set loose the front end will shack. You can set them on the tighter side because it is 3 wheels and does not lean any.ore. my 86 tri-wing kit did the same thing and i tightened up the steering head bearing and help very much. Give it a try. Good luck

Ride on my friend. It was a pleasure to have met you and worked with in the VTS group. Sending prayers for his family You will be greatly missed.

Good luck Don .sending prayers your way to find the problem. That is one reason I went to a trike so early in my life. I was getting dizzy also but not bad like you and I was a little tipsy when I would stop. Best of luck and i will be thinking of you and sending prayer for you

clutch mystery
bikenut replied to saddlebum's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My 06 venture did that on a trip and lost the clutch when hot. Worked ok when cold.I just changed the brake fluid before the trip and bleed it really good but on the trip I lost it. It was air in the system. My 86 trike did that on the front brake and it was air in the system also. Sometimes it is very hard to get the air out and a friend told me about back bleeding and it works. What I did was Back bleed it from the bottom up to the top master with a small hand pump and bottle And I never had the problem again. Give that a try. Good luck -
Crappy, clunky, difficult shifting
bikenut replied to Semi-retired's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The best way I found was to suck all the fluid out of the master and use paper towel to soak up the rest and then fill it back up with new fluid, hook up your hose down by the slave and open the bleed valve the SLOWLY pull you clutch in and slowly out and keep doing it until clean fluid comes out the hose below. But keep you master full of fluid at all times so air do not get into the system. On the last pull in on the clutch lever hold it in all the way IN and keep it there and close the bleed valve Below is a video of where the bleed valve is Hope this helps -

I agree that seafoam can be added to the gas but I was on their site and nowhere do they say to add to the motorcycle crankcase. Harley I see no problem because the motor has its own oil and the clutch is in different oil but on most Motorcycles has the clutch and transmission in the same oil as the engine and Seafoam May not be compatible with the wet clutch. Clutch may wear faster or slip like if you put the wrong type of oil in the motor with friction modifiers added which is a no no. Like other people have stated above here I would Bleed the clutch and Master and slave because it does sound like the clutch is dragging and not releasing all the way. Good luck and let us know if it works -
Cheap Cheap Royale Miracle

may have to clean the carbs if the seafoam does not work. it sounds to me as the low speed jets maybe partly blocked and it does need a carb synced for sure. but other then that do like the others suggested. Good luck -
You have my support all the way. I ran a Wisconsin motorcycle web site for years and I had to do the same thing. They get the point when you delete their ad

I go in on May 22 for cardiac ablation also. A-Fib is not fun and gets old after in and out all the time. I have gone thru 6 cordial versions and now my doctor state meds are not working so on to the next step. I have been in and out for 8 years. Good luck on your procedure and will say a prayer for you that everything works out for you.

I started to get a little tipsy when i would come to a stop 2 up. I built my 1986 Trike in 2005 understanding some day I will be riding it. My wife and I have all the lower 48 states and all the provinces of Canada that hit the USA from 1992 all from Wisconsin no trailer. Loved two wheels but I would never go back after getting use to the trike. So much easier on my body. But the time came and pulled out the 1986 and sold my 2006 Yamaha Venture

Start problem Venture 1987r.

checking the starter clutch is not that easy did you pull off the stator flywheel because that is not a easy job to get that off and the starter clutch is under that. you can not even see the starter clutch unless your removed the stator flywheel. To me it sounds like the starter clutch is not engaging or you have a bad gear where the starter gear meshes with the gears that go to the starter clutch Good luck Rotor AssemblyRotor Assembly
