  1. If want to make things easy use this product and you will never have to balance a tire again. Also it can be reused for your next tire and that saves money go to hear and read . I have it in my tires and a freind used it all last year and he has over 10,000 on his tire and they look new yet. check it out http://innovativebalancing.com/motorcycle.htm Hope this helps bikenut:thumbsup:
  2. I think Dennis Kirt still sells them but not for sure check them out if you need some mini light covers Bikenut
  3. Just so you know Youy askes what the Hb means the H means 130 mph tire and the B means it is a bias tire . If it would say HR the would be 130mph tire Radial . Just for your info. Dunlop makes both Radial and bias Tires.
  4. The stock front tire is a 150/80/16 and the smaller tire would be the 130/90/16 The E3 Dunlop number for the smaller tire would be MT90HB16 Hope this helps:thumbsup:
  5. If I were you I would go to the dealer and get new clutch bolts all of them because if you look in the manual it states to replace and do not reuse the clutch bolts because everytime you torque them they stretch. Also I would not use stainless because stainless is also brittle and may break when you torque them. What you need to do if you do not want to use the stock bolts is to find out the grade of bolt that is in there stock and get a high grade bolt which will be stronger. Stainless is very good for most applications were you do not want them to rust. Hope this helps I have replaced many clutches and I have always replace the bolts with new stock bolts and have not had any problems. Bikenut:thumbsup2:
  6. Hi Mark If you have the cables to tight it will not return right also so put some play back in the cables so the hand grip has some free play in it. Mine did the same thing and with a little more play in the grip it works fine now. Give that a try bikenut
  7. Go with the E3 dunlop with the 130 on the front. Get rid of the 150 on the front and make your bike handle allot better at slow speeds. I did mine and I travel all over the USA every year and will not go back to the big front tire. Just my thoughts BIKENUT:thumbsup:

  9. I agree with you all on the warranty and yes it is going back after we get back home which is 1500 miles from were we are. I did look at the service manual and it looks like the sending unit is going bad with the Full gauge blinking on and off and then the last bar blinking on and off so I will take it in when we get home for a new sending unit. Thanks Guys for all the help I just thought it might be something easy that I could do on the road. Later
  10. The tank is full of gas when it does it most of the time right after I fill her up. Yes the bike is under warranty and yes I will take it in but if it is just a loose conection which it could be I will fix it myself. I do all the work I can on my bike before it goes to the shop. I do this as a part time job fixing bikes but was just wondering if this happened to others. CMIK: What you stated is just what it is doing. I have my service manual in my bike trail with us so I will look that up and see what it states. Thanks for that info on the Manual.
  11. HELLO ALL I am on a trip and will look at this when we get back but just wanted to run this by everyone here to get some ideas. My gas gauge on the dash will blink on and off but not all the time. I think it might be the sending unit but not sure until I do sometesting. What are some other ideas out there. The rest of the dash is working just fine. Had the switch replace 4 months ago because the hole dash was blinking on and off and that fixed that but just the gas gauge doing it is a little strange . What do you think guys?????????????? Bikenut 2006 Yamaha Venture 32000 miles on her Alway garage kept or covered when parked
  12. It is more then likely if it is up front and middle of bike the small o-ring on the coolant drain valve above the oil filter. Can be replaced very easy and no more leaks. If on the right side of bike sitting on it then you would have to look at the water pump. Other then that check all your hose clamps because they also will leak when the temps get down. My 86 was the small o-ring on the valve. Good luck Bikenut:fingers-crossed-emo
  13. My brother-law pulled a 14 foot boat with 25 hp motor on a trailer for 50 miles to get it home . He had no problems at all. He just started to stop way before he had to. bikenut:missingtooth:
  14. Do you have the black box under the battery and how much do you want for it? Bikenut
  15. Does your fuel pump click when you turn your key on. MAy have poped the fuse for the fuel pump.
  16. Very nice looking trike. Great Job. Enjoy Bikenut:thumbsup:
  17. If I were you I would not think of putting on Radials on RSTD because it is not designed for them at all.You could end up with a very bad handling bike and un-safe to ride. the side ways on a radial is much softer and will give more then the Bias tires and if the bike is not setup for them you could go down when cornering hard. I have tried most all brands of tires on my 1999 and my 2006 venture and the one I liked best to suit my way of riding was the E3 Dunlop. I love them and they last the longest for me.The Avon would be my next choice. Just my 2 cents bikenut
  18. I know of one in florida that has 250k on it and still running and looking Great.Just like the day it was built Bikenut:snow2: By the way it snowed here today in Wisconsin
  19. The blinking dash light sounds to me as the Ignition switch . That is the only thing that will make it blink the dash lights. My 1999 venture did it and now my 06 venture was just changed because of the same thing. Yes the fringes on the handles could cause the cruise to kick out but not the blinking dash lights. You might have more then one problems happening at the same time. Good luck
  20. You could have a bad Ignition switch . Check the tech lib here for more info in the electrical section. Bikenut:fingers-crossed-emo
  21. This is what I have used from 1986 and still using in my 2006 Venture, I used it in my 1999 Venture also. Works just fine. Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lube LS 75W-90 Hope this helps youout Bikenut:banana::thumbsup2:
  22. If I were you I would not run any oil unless it is to be used in a motorcycle with a wet clutch. The 15 w50 states on they site it is to be used in cars, trucks & SUV. It does not state anything about moptorcycles. Motorcycle oil had additives in it for the wet clutch and other things. Why do you think they make motorcycle oil and car & truck oil. DO what you want but I only run motorcycle oil in all of my bikes. By the way Mobil make a motorcycle oil just for bikes
  23. Well I got the first "I" basket installed back into the bike because Yamaha said it might take a long time to find the right basket to help my problem so I agreed to have the first "I" backet they installed put back in. The noise is not much on that one compared to the second "I" basket. Anyway I had the old basket and I started to look at it before they installed it back into the bike and I noticed that the two bushings in the center of the basket looked a little different to each other so I got the light out and looked at them better and I found that the outer bushing had a shiny spot going around the bushing but not all the way across the bushing and the inner bushing di not hhave this mark on it or any other marks. The inner still looked new but the outer had this shiny spot. I sould it to my dealer and he said I might be on something here so he was going to contact Yamaha on this and see if the problem might be the bushings that the clutch basket rides on and over time the outer wears in a little and the noise starts. The reason I say this is because after they installed the first New "I" backet my bike did not have any noise in it at any speed or RPM but after about 1000 miles it started to come back. Maybe the bushings. If the bushings wears the basket can wobble a little and that can make the whine noise we all have in the bikes. I will keep you all informed if and when I get somemore info on this matter Bikenut:doh:
  24. Yammer Dan hit the nail on the head. If you are light on the front of the trailer it will do just that. Move some weight forward to stop it. Bikenut
  25. My 06 venture had the "I" basket installed back in spring and it did help the sound go away but after 12000 milkes the sound was starting to come back so I asked the dealer and he contacted the Yamaha and they said they would put in a new "I" basket and see if it helps. Every "I" backet acts different and this new one after 300 miles was worse then the first so back to the dealer and he contacted Yamaha and they said they would put the first one back in and that is all they could do at this time. That is OK by me. The new basket is supper loud when you let off the gas at all speeds. The first was just louder below 50 other then that it was ok. So next week it goes back to get the first "I" Basket re-installed and a key switch. My 1986 Trike has the same sound but you can just hear it. Wish the 06 was like the 86. But I lve the bike and that is what counts., Every bike has it's problems. BIKENUT:confused24:
